um... well it appears you have this vigilant, gallant young knight (or not ) by your side for your character. Have you read any of the book? (just wondering cause if you had i think it'd be easier to understand) and, well you can pm me with any questions...do you want my charrie as your warder?

Gerant walked aimlessly through the snowy woods, their beauty hidden to him both by the darkness of the night and his utter detachment from the immediate world around him. Even the fork in the trodden path failed to arouse his interest. His sole interest was himself.

Or rather, those who were inside him.

Currently, Bobert [pronounced Bob-ert] and Michellin [mish-uh-lin] were arguing over what to do first when they get to the nearest inn. Gerant had plenty of money. His superior had seen to that. He would need it to accomplish his task.

What was his task again? Bobert thinks that he is to kill all and every Aes Sedai or anyone that might by sympathetic toward Aes Sedai (which included everyone) as revenge for the imprisoning of the Dark One. Michellin had different ideas. She thought his first mission was a bath. They have not bathed for days, and she wanted them to be clean. When they get a chance they should also cut their hair and undergo a thorough massage.

What did Gerant think? He didn't think anything. He was too busy listening to them arguing to think about anything.

With nobody guiding their feet that plodded one after another on the soft, snow-covered dirtpath through the forest, the boots chose to go left on the fork and kept on. In Gerant's interest to the fun argument that was happening inside their heads, he missed the tiny flickering of the orange flames, and tripped over a bundle a little off the path.

Lucky they didn't run into the flames.

Then they realized that that was a woman. Saidin flooded through him, carrying with it the stench of the taint, and Gerant felt whole. Felt powerful. Felt...

Bloodthirsty.

He felt their mouth ask, "Who are you, and what are you doing here?"

[OOC: he refers to himself by we or other plural names, since he has, basically, a triple personality. Man, Man, and Woman.]

Tieanna Medarious glanced up at the man that had tripped over her. "My name is Tieanna Medarious, and I was only resting for a moment. She pulled the blanket arround herself more securely.

Her horse was tied to a low hanging branch not far from where she sat huddled by a fire.She didn't like this man he wasn't right and she could sence it. He frightened her.

"Is there something I can do for you?" She asked standing. She wanted to give herself a better chance to get to her horse incase somthing happened.

Caralyna Remossvani disgustedly brushed invisible dirt off her dress in order to avoid looking at the lithe man beside her. Aren may have agreed to become her warder, but why must he be so difficult? Cara did not know how her friend Rodera had managed with Hardan. Even now she could feel Aren's frustration flowing through the bond. Smoothly rising from her bench, Cara turned to face him.

"Aren, I must travel to Bandar Eben. Or at least, as near as I can get." She grimaced, the world's shifting had caused more than a few unpleasent surprises. Crossing her arms, she fixed Aren with a stare that had made rulers tremble.

Unconcerned, Aren stared right back. "I am sorry, Caralyna Sedai, but the road is too perilous. There are trollocs out there, dreadlords," he spat with distaste, "and those madmen." The last was said in a low whisper.

Cara shuddered. Madmen. Her brothers, now fated to die because of the Dark One's taint on their half of the one power. Sorry as she felt for the men, she didn't want to come within seven hundred paces of one unless she had twelve strong sisters with her. Pushing the thought aside, she concentrated again on persuasion. "Nevertheless, I must travel. What are you here for, but to protect me? I have news of the dai'shan that should be brought to light, as well as other matters. And something must be decided about this weather. It is not good for growing crops."

Sighing, Aren set about gathering his small bundle of posessions.

-------------------------------

So sweet, so strong, so powerful. Ragain Therevall drank in saidin, welcoming the struggle and the scouring light-filled river that filled him. In the midst of the sweetness, though, he could feel scum and dirt filling his belly. The taint appeared stronger than the first time he noticed it. A faint laugh welled up in his throat. Even with the Dark One imprisoned, along with his bloody Forsaken, he still managed to have the last say. Frantically, Ragain tried to push the laugh back down. After all, he didn't want to make his hosts feel uncomfortable.

"I do thank you very much for your hospitality," Ragain murmured, bowing smoothly. "I do no have much money on my person, but I do wish to leave you with a small piece of my appreciation." Turning to his wagon, he produced a small dagger --small, with a clear diamond in the hilt. As the elderly couple stared at Ragain and the dagger both, he swung onto the wagon seat and flicked the reins. He was sorry to have to frighten the old ones, but they lived near the mountains, and not far from what was becoming known as the blasted lands. They would need protection, or else money to move.

Still feeling the sweetness of saidin flowing through him, Ragain spun a gateway. Behind him was a somewhat snowy land, ahead a dense forest. Blood and ashes, Ragain thought to himself. There was a city where this place is supposed to take me to! He hated the breaking. Not that he supposed his brothers could help it, but it made traveling bloody inconvenient. Steering the wagon through the gateway, Ragain tried to get his bearings.

i changed my bio. obviously if he's darkfriend he wouldn't go mad, would he? or was that just the Forsaken? well he's already at this stage anyway so...

(it's kinda hard playing double roles with myself, especially since Gerant is supposed to be menacing and Moreth is supposed to protect his Aes Sedai)

and Aes Sedai[s]? please state your Ajah.

~*~^~*~
Gerant, Bobert, and Michellin stared down through their two piercing brown eyes at the woman before them.

Gerant personally had never hurt a woman on purpose unless she had threatened them. She was not a threat. Gerant could feel it. But Bobert disagreed. He had been a murderer before he found Gerant's fractured mind and decided to settle down inside Gerant's brain. He wanted to use saidin -something he found utterly delightful for killing people after he found Gerant- to tie the woman up, torture her, play with her, and, finally, kill her in some amusing and comical way. Michellin just wanted to take a bath.

Gerant decided to go by Michellin. He asked as politely as he could, trying not to scare the woman, "My lady, would you kindly point us in the direction of the nearest inn that you know off near here? We have not bathed for days, and we desperately need to get clean. We would appreciate you very much if you pointed us the right way."

He tried not to scare the woman, going by Michellin's wishes. But if the woman failed to point them the right way... Gerant reached through saidin, readying to bind her and tie off the weave as soon as he told her the answer. If they found the inn, they would come back and take the woman there also. If they did not... Bobert became a ball of happiness at the thought.

~~~
Moreth sensed his Aes Sedai tense up, as though readying for some danger. He wanted to run right back to protect her. He had a duty, and he meant to carry it out to the best of his ability. But Tieanna had ordered him to scout the lay of the land, to see if anythign is changed.
Screw that order Moreth thought to himself. He turned Taan, his black stallion, right back around the way they came, and went at a full gallop back to Moreth's Aes Sedai Tieanna.
[OOC lets arrange to have a meet-up. They we shall cook up something interesting!]
"If you go back down the trail to where the fork is and take the other fork... there is an Inn not far down that road." Tieanna said shivering slightly. There was something she didn't like about this man.
She was utterly terrified, knowing that if this man chose... he could harm her. She senced her warder Moreth comming back. I knew I shouldn't have sent him out scouting... that was just stupid Anna. She thought to herself.
[um... saidar users can't sense saidin, and vice versa, just on a side note]
Gerant saw the woman shiver, and decided to ask, "Are you cold?" During the duration of the question, weaves appeared to Gerant's vision (and only to saidin users) and touches of earth mixed with air bound the woman tightly. She fell on the ground.
If Gerant had still been completely sane, he would have thought to try and shield her just in case she was an Aes Sedai. But if Gerant had still been completely sane, he wouldn't have wandered here anyway. And also if Gerant had still been completely sane, this woman would have been dead.
But Gerant was not completely sane. Bobert and Michellin had told him so.
You're crazy, you know, just like all those other men. Personally I like it like this, if not for that crazy loon over there Michellin once said to him.
And that crazy loon in question, Bobert, had likewise responded. I also like you like this. Especially since i had found you. You wield power, immense power, over normal folks. That makes me happy. Extremely happy, because now i can kill everybody I want, like that stupid girl over there.
Michellin had responded with a string of curses, and what went on after... was that Gerant ended up on the stupid forest path with no idea how they'd gotten there.
If Gerant had still retained all his sanity, he would have thought to open a gateway to get back. But if Gerant had still retained all his sanity, he wouldn't have listened to those two bicker and wouldn't have ended up here in the first place. But he didn't retain all his sanity.
Bobert and Michellin and maybe the Dark Lord had seen to that.
Mostly the Dark Lord.
Gerant plopped the woman on his shoulder, and walked the way she pointed.
Pretty soon he saw two faint figures on horseback through the thin mist that arose.
Tieanna senced her warder was close, and was slowly inching toward her horse when her vision blured and she slipped into uncontiousness.
Guiding her bay mare through a small thicket, Caralyna offered another silent thanks that Aren had decided to listen to her. He was a firebrand at times, ready to leap into action without thinking. He also seemed to feel that Cara was made of glass. When he wasn't fighting for her, he spent his time arguing with her. That was not the way a warder should behave. She sighed. How she wished her Jachim was there. Bitter memories swelled up in her mind of that day.
The trollocs swarmed over the cropland, trampling everything with their hideous hoofed feet. The dai'shan stood hand-in-hand, singing. Hoping the power of their song would drive back the foe. Rich baritones mingled with childish sopranos, filling the air with music so sweet it hurt to hear it. But the trollocs still came.
Cara wove flows of fire, striking the closest line of the monsters. As she prepared another weave, she sensed someone wielding saidair nearby. Raising her head, she saw a plump woman appear after the trollocs. The thought of a dreadlord filled her with distaste, and she wove fire and air to dispose of the group altogether. The other women wove as well, and flows met in the air. Trollocs went down in flames - but Cara didn't feel like rejoicing. The other woman's work had caused the dai'shan to stop singing. Bodies lay on the ground.
Filled with rage, but yet not filled as she surrendered to saidair, Cara slammed a shield between the dreadlord and the power. Cara was the stronger - much stronger. The shield continued on, changing slightly to sever the woman where she stood. Triumph changed to shock on the woman's face, then she turned and fled. Cara let her go.
Kneeling, she wiped blood off of Jachim's face. "Fighting will not solve it," he murmured. "Time and time again -" a fit of coughing stopped him for a moment -"time again the will come, and you will fight, and they will fight, and many will die. Fighting is not..." his voice trailed off as his eyes turned sightless toward the sky.
Cara pulled out a kerchif and wiped the tears off her cheeks. Jachim had been her friend, her servant, and a close companion for over twenty years. Yet gone, in one small instant. She hated friends of the dark, hated them more than anything in the world. She would make them pay. Bring them to justice. Following after Aren, memories continued to arise.
Well, they didn't have Ajah's yet back then. The White Tower wasn't made yet.
Ragain Therevall settled back on his wagonseat. If he was correct in his assumption, he was many miles south of his last position. A salty smell filled the air, there must be an ocean nearby. Though what ocean, he now had no clue. Hearing a rustling in the woods off to his right, Ragain seized saidin. Filth and life filled him, souring his stomach yet making him want to draw more. With his heightened senses, Ragain was able to see flashes of red. He spun Air, and the figure in the bushes ceased moving. Dragging it out of the woods, Ragain saw it was a man, small and mousy, with a tattered red coat and a mop of greying hair.
"What do you be doing here?" Ragain demanded. He knew he could impress the other man, with his deep voice and jet black hair added to his unusual height. "Why did you try to suprise me?" The man raised his head, and Ragain nearly flinched. Those eyes....blacker than the blackest raven, yet without the warmth of humanity in them. But behind, flickering in and out, a cold light. Ragain was frightened for his life, a rather new experience for him. Then, without any warning, saidin filled the man. Ragain barely had time to gape before he had to fend off a shield thrown at him. The man obviously was desparate, no one in their right mind would try to shield someone already holding the power unless you were much stronger. Ragain could tell from the amount he felt that the man was slightly lower than himself.
Separating some of his weave, Ragain chopped the other man's flows. "I did ask you a question! Why did you sneak up on me? Answer me, and I will no harm you." He knew the words were just that --words. A high-pitched laugh came from the other man.
"Oh, gracious lord," the man whimpered, "do forgive your humble servant who merely hoped to beg a bit of bread from one who has so much." His eyes flickered to the wagon. "Surely you could spare a morsel?" Then his manner changed, and he straightened. "Why do you detain me? I have important business I cannot discuss further. Release me, and be gone!" Ragain was sure a hand gesture would have gone with that, had he not been keeping the man's arms at his sides. Another attack came at Ragain, and he once again cut the flows. The eyes and manner came clear. A madman. A sudden release of saidin gave Ragain a start, but he took advantage of the situation to shield the now sniveling man. As changing as the weather, the man's eyes flashed and he strained against the shield.
Ragain grimaced. He didn't want to kill the man, but neither could he leave him unshielded to further wreck the world. "I do no want to do this," Ragain told the man apologetically. He quickly tied of the shield, then lifted the man onto the seat beside him. Driving his wagon onto a path, he reached the ocean he knew must have been nearby. Not wanting to look, but unable to close his eyes, Ragain threw the man out into the water. Without use of the power or his arms or legs, he would either drown or be taken by some water-loving creature. Turning the wagon, Ragain curesed the Dark One over and over.
