((Name:Dunv'egan
Age:37
Shire:North
Appearance: Dunv'egan has hard features forged from the bitter northern cold. He sees the world through one ice-blue eye, the other is useless, pearly white and dead from a battle. He has straight, brown hair that falls to his shoulders, and a short beard that is mostly unshaved stubble. He has a y-shaped scar on his left cheek, a mark from his brother, and is missing the little finger on his left hand. He has a square jaw, ana a crooked nose. He stands at 5' 11''. Dunv'egan wears a short-sleeved leather brigandine; and steel vambraces and greaves, in addition to an open-faced helmet.

History:Dunv'egan was born far into the Northern Shire,. close to the wilds. From the day he was born, Dun'vegan's life was marred by war. When he was 3 months old, Dunv'egan's father was killed in battle wth a nearby Barbaran tribe. When he was 6, his mother was abducted in a raid. Left with his older brother Malachi, who had inherited his father's cruel tendencies, Dunv'egan grew to be a hard man. After years of hardship and abuse from both the wilds and his brother, the pair stumbled upon a small village. When Dunv'egan awoke the next day, Malachi was gone, to aid a rebellion he had been openly sympathising with. Abandoned, Dunv'egan turned his potential to war, training in the way of sword and axe, and becoming a skilled rider. Whenm Barbarion tribes massed, allied with the rebels, Dunv'egan rode to engage them. With other troops, Dunvegan met the Barbarians near his old home. With orders of no quarter, Dunv'egan threw himself into the fray, seeking the Commander. When he finally met him, he recognized Malachi, even after all those years. The two brothers fought brutally, Malachi scarring Dunv'egan on the cheek, and removing his finger. However, the older sibling underestimated his brother's brutality. Grabbing Malachi by the wrist, Dunv'egan flipped him, threw him to the ground, and drove his axe into his brother's stomach. Malachi pleaded for mercy, begging forgivness. Dunv'egan's only response was to put his sword through his brother's throat. After the battle, Dunv'egan fled, helping to put down the short-lived rebellion while it was still in the Shire. Dunv'egan became a mercenary, falling into alcoholism and selling his service to the highest bidder. Hired by the Earl, he viewed the mission as one more battle, and hopes to recover the jewel as quickly as possible, to go back to his life of obscurity.
Weapons:Dunv'egan carries a broadsword with an intricate basket-hilt, a gift from his instructor in swordplay, Dalraid.

In adition, he caries a long-handled battle-axe, which he uses with frightening efficiency

Dunv'egan rode soundlessly towards the gathering place, the axe slung across his saddle glinting in the nood sun. He crossed the river at a ford, trotting over to the massed soldiers. Those who still believed in honour and goodness in the world. Dunv'egan scowled. He would not have chosen this mission, but the Earl had paid well. He slung his axe over his shoulder and trotted up to the knights. "Dunv'egan of the North Shire. When do we leave?" he asked bluntly, surveying the company from his good eye.

“As soon as possible.” said a voice from behind the group. A dark steed was closing up the Knights. The rider was hooded and his face couldn’t be seen. “By any chance by nightfall.” The horseman jumped on the ground lightly. “I’m Natasha, as you might have guessed.” continued the woman. “And I will lead you through your perilous mission.” She looked at the group. 1,2..5,6…Six! It seems that I cannot trust the eyes of the old flying fool. Anyway…The more, the better they say. “Take your time and rest a bit, noble Knights. When the sun halves the sky, come to me; we have to discuss our movement.”

Natasha turned and walked towards the River. The hard part of the journey was about to begin. The Archangel River was the Kingdom’s northern border, beyond its banks lay the Snow Mountains, where the snow on the tops never melts and the cold is like razor. This would be a great test for the Knights’ strength and stamina. But before they face this hardship, they had to find a ford where they could cross the river itself. This year rains were very common during May and the Archangel River and it’s feeders have overflowed. After the water pulled back, some places remained marshy, and it was very dangerous for riders.

(I thought this had died, seriously. No one was replying. XD)

Adelina turned around to take a glimpse of the new arrivals. Dunv'egan of the Northern Shire and the Lady Natasha. Her eyebrows shot up at Dunv'egan's bluntness and she narrowed her eyes, studying his face carefully. This man, he had a hard, cold look and he seemed as if he did not want to be here. Strange... Her eyes took in his scars and harsh appearance, noticing his piercing gaze as he observed the group. Not a man to be angered...definitely.

The Lady Natasha had an air of importance and mystery. This woman, she was now their leader. Not a woman to cross... A wry grin appeared on Adelina's face and she turned to the sky. It would be interesting to see how they all fared on this mission.

Dunv'egan nodded to the woman, and dug his heels into his horse's flanks. "Let's go. The dragon won't wait for us to break down his door. The trail grows cold." he said, trotting along the bank to search for a ford.

Leonia watched. Dunv'egan seemed cold and harsh; Lady Natasha was surrounded by an uncertainty, a small and subtle mystical element to her presence. She was quite intrigued... each knight had a different 'feel' to them and their personality, all so different. Leonia was one to think more than she spoke, so she contented herself with watching the water of the Archangel and wondering silently.

Her calm exterior was mostly a front. There was always a part of her that remained distant, it called to and watched over the rest of her to make sure she didn't lose herself in her thoughts. That part of her was examining her nerves with a sceptical indifference, telling her to pay attention.

Mounting her horse she looked up at the Sun. It had just passed its peak. Time to leave.

Adelina mounted Sage, and turned him around in the direction of the river. She grasped the reins and watched as Dunv'egan looked for a ford. She clicked her tongue and Sage trotted on, best be to help and hurry on. She followed the man at a distance, her eyes skimming the water and observing her companion's movements.

It was midday. The sun had reached it’s highest peak and lighted the valley around the Archangel River. The Mountains glistened like piles of silver under the sunbeams. And somewhere, deep in the darkest cave lay the Dragon, guarding the precious Jewel of Asha, the tears of the last Phoenix. Natasha’s goal. Nobody knew the gem’s true powers, but they say it kept the balance of the nature forces: fire and water, earth and wind. The witch desired this power so much that she gave up her soul to receive a chance to take the jewel.

But many years have passed since then- over a millennium. And Natasha started to feel tired and despair craved into her heart. She was trying so hard for so long, but she could never accomplish her deeds. Till that day when the Great Lizard was captured. Again a single thought of hope was lighted in Natasha’s mind. Yes, hope. Even the evil creatures loose faith sometimes. They fear that they’ll fail in their mischief. And they need hope, though this hope is enveloped in darkness.

Now there was no room for mistakes, the witch’s had to be performed perfectly.

Natasha looked at the sky. It was clear and blue. There was no single cloud. Then she saw that the group was ready to leave. Dunv'egan of the North was searching for ford already.
He’s quite inpatient… thought Natasha. She had to be careful with this man. Obviously this mission wasn’t to his taste.

Natasha took the reins of her steed and headed back to the Knights.

“Time to go everyone” said she, trying to keep the friendly tone of her voice.

[[*dives onto thread* I thought it had disappeared off teh face of teh board! O.O Ah, back in towwn...]]

Leonia was brought out of her thoughts by the Lady announcing their time to leave. It had indeed just passed midday; but she felt the heat hadn't lessened yet. She was eager to get going, but fairly apprehentious; she wasn't sure where this journey would take her, exactly.
From her position she couldn't see a ford; but the part of her that took note of things said that Dunv'egan had already set off in search of one, and that he was someway ahead, just in her line of vision. That part of her that had been paying attention also said that Lady Natasha had seemed lost in though for a while, in silent contemplation, before heading back to the knights. They still hadn't seen her face, she thought, as she mounted her horse, Tyadon.
