The steady beats of Eugenia rang through the sky like drums. Katyln, for the most part, made herself as comfortable as possible, looking at random sights of interest. Like a fire no less than five hundred kilometers away. Now, had she retained her demon nature, she would have flied past without any further notice. But as it would happen, her "human" curiosity overtook her and she said to Eugenia, "Fly to the fire."
She had absolutely no idea if it understood her. For all she knew, Eugenia could understand every single thought that flitted through her mind. But had no idea of communicating its own ideas. When it was first summoned, Katyln often desired that her newly found companion could speak. But then after a while, she grew accustomed to the silence. Much like she did with the fleeing and running from demons, angels, and hunters who simply wanted a human world for humans.
As they approached the site, Katyln silently allowed herself to view the world from Eugenia's eyes. Its eyes were much sharper and more acute than the human's and she could see several people with other flying beasts. She returned back to the courtesan and pondered her plan. She wondered how she would be received: a demon riding on a creature summoned from another world. She thought about landing some distance away and walking the rest, as to appear as a harmless traveler. But Eugenia was probably sighted by now and she might as well approach with it in tow.
After a few minutes, they landed. Well rather, Eugenia folded her wings and sharply dived at the site, causing Katyln to hold on the saddle horn for dear life. It barely crashed, pulling up with its two legs. It grumbled quietly, as if to warn any creatures around it. Katyle quickly soothed her companion, before jumping off. She approached the fire and the people around it, not knowing exactly what to expect.

"My name's Perry, and this is Afanen," Perry introduced, aware that the griffin's companion was giving them a none-too-friendly eye. He wondered whether he should say more, but a noise and a grumble from behind them caused whatever words he'd considered saying to stick in this throat.
That wasn't a creature he'd ever seen before. It was really the sort of creature he'd hoped he'd never have to see, but it was heading in their direction. An inevitable encounter, then. Brilliant.

A few have arrive, dear Ayvein. Stay strong, dear, for these few, as the others were strong in welcoming you.
Ayvein glanced up and saw Dyvain soaring through the skys in the distance, only a small speak as he hunted for his next meal, yet she heard the deep rumble she had grown accustom to as his voice as clearly as if he was standing right next to her.
I know, Dyvain, I know. But if I show myself now, I will only scare them. Ayvein was speaking of her apperance - dressed in all black, with a deep red scar on her cheek, and tattoos starting from the corner of her right eye and making their way all the down to her right ankle. Most of them remained covered, but some knew the true meaning of them.
They were the tattoos of a Demon Assassian.
Yet that was not who she was. But how would she explain that to these newcomers?
Trust them, as you trusted those who have passed, yet still live on in your heart.
She sighed and stood up from the fire, turning towards her friends and seeing some newcomers. She sized them all up with one glance and deemed them all unworthy. She heard a low growl and she sighed again, before walking up in full view of the new Chosen.
"Hullo. My name is Ayvein. A pleasure to meet you." She told them, addressing them as a group moreso than singling anyone out quite yet.

Lissa smiled at Ayvein, "It is nice to meet you as well Ayvein, everyone." She acknowladged everyone else with a nod and a smile.

Katyln nodded her head in acknowledgment of the occupants of the campsite. She said softly, "Well it's a pleasure to meet all of you as well. My name is Katyln and this here is Eugenia."
Whatever Katyln said, Eugenia did not think it was a pleasure to meet any of them, especially the other flying beasts. It growled maliciously at one or two of them, its talons roughly tapping the dirt, a sign whose meaning Katyln could only guess.
"Calm down, Genia," she hissed. "I'm sure there's nothing to be..." She took a closer look at Ayvein and the colour of her human host nearly disappeared. Tattoos of a Demon Assassin. Lovely group of guys and girls who wanted to kill, among other people, traitors like herself. Trying to remain calm and casual, her right hand briefly drifted over her sabre, ready for anything.

Rena had sat quietly by the fire and watched what were to be her new companions arrive. She was a shyness that she secretly always fought, sometimes unknowingly. Because always her curiosity dominated over being shy. She noted each one's name and distict difference. Like the girl with the strange beastie, the man who seemed very short, and the woman with a pheonix that shrunk in size.
So far this group seems more interesting then the last, Rena mindspoke to Rena. This time will be interesting. Don't you think?
It's always been interesting running from fate.
She brushed her fingertips over the violet egg. Rena stood, and slowly came over to the chosen, a forced smile on her face.
"Hello, I'm Rena. And Granit, my winged companion, is somewhere around here," she said, looking around real quick, but not really looking and turned back to the arrivals. "You're probably wondering why you were called here. But we'll explain once everyone gets here. There are three more."
(Ok... and those three are spots not taken. I think that'd be great if you could grab the magma egg again, Darky! And does anybody know somebody who might like to take the last two remaining spots? If not two people might have to take two characters. I guess I'll be one of them... but only if it comes to that.
And, after alot of work, I have drawn the first flight of the chosen:

And the really bad quality is due to my really old scanner since my new scanner doesn't work.)

(Alright, I'll get on the Firis/Meridian train again)
Meridian sighed heavily, resting his massive head on the gorund, he moved his head around, trying to ignore the rocks poking into the sensitive skin at the base of his head. The fire reflected in his dark blue eyes as he watched the other Chosen arriving. Firis was sitting placidly beside him, idly braiding lengths of string. Occasionally she glanced up to see other Chosen arriving, nodding in thier genernal directions before going back to her braiding.
The Magma egg sat between her knees, sending waves of warmth up her legs. It pulsated with red light in the deepening darkness, casting strange hues onto the ground around her. She felt it shiver ever so slightly, and she stared at it for several seconds, Meridian sensing it's movement as well.
"It misses Crymson." Firis' voice was low, Meridian making a low whuffled noise in agreement. Firis ran her hand over it slowly, knowing that it would not respond to her. With a sigh she went back to her braiding.

The flight lasted for what seemed like hours to Meegan. The light in the sky had begun to fade to a purple and pink hue. And although she tried to relax, the nymph never felt quite comfortable in the air and for that reason remained board straight and clutched to the dragon under her.
Meegan was sure she felt Quebedeaux smile - she had heard that those that remained with one dragon long enough and became close to them started to become more connected, but the sensation was odd.
"We are here, young one," Queb drawled in his deep gravelly voice.
As soon as the sentence finished Meegan saw the ground rising to meet them.
"Oh god!" She yelled, ducking down as if it would help the impact.
Quebedaux shook his head and rolled his gold eyes landing with ease and with the least amount of jostling he could manage.
"Are you quite done?" He asked slightly insulted that his new rider thought him incapable of properly landing.
Meegan coughed behind her hand to try and hide her nervous laugh. "Yeah...I'm good now." She replied resting a hand on his foreleg giving it a grateful pat. Her brown eyes shifted from the dragon to the group that had begun to form about the fire. She nodded to them, unsure of how to go about introducing herself to them.

((I am willing to, Rain, if you need it.))
Ayvein nodded back at Lissa and turned her attention back to Katyln and her beast Katyln introduced them. She also watched as the color seem to flood away from Katlyn and inwardly, Ayvein sighed.
She has already paled, Dyvain, and there is fear resting in her eyes. She has already discovered, judged, and mistrusted me - correctly, I know, but still...I was not looking forward to explaining myself to everyone again. She heard Dyvain sigh as he answered her,
My dear, it is alright. Do not shy away from who you are - these people will learn the real you soon enough. Besides, you will probably be saving their as -
Enough, Dyvain! My father has nothing to do with me - I hate him. Yet you are him, Ayvein - you are part of his race. The Demon in you is dominant than the human, but only in appearance. Dyvain said, his tone softening. In courage, heart, mind, and soul, you are fully human.
Avyein sighed again and turning her back, walking back over to the group and sat next to Kith. He was the one she valued most, who she felt, besides Rena, had helped her the most when she started out.
"Kith, they already fear me." She whispered to him, knowing he would know what she meant. She ran her pale hand through her dark black hair as she fought to hold back the tears.

Kith glanced at Avyein as she sat down next to him. Tears threaten to spill over her lids and down her face. Kith softened, a small, barely detectable smile lifting his face. "Judgements happen all the time." He answered gruffly. "Its how life is, how beings behave." Out of all the Chosen, he related most to Avyein. She knew what is was like to be a halfbreed. Looked down upon, feared, dispised by both parental species. "Judgements hurt, they sting, and you can hate them all you want, I know I do, but they are always going to happen." He continued ",Its a matter of survival." He drew upon his intimate knowledge of the animal kingdom for a metaphor. "In the wild, there are these snakes, banded brightly in red, black, and yellow. They are highly poisonous, and animals learn to avoid them at all cost. But there are other snakes, as toxin free as water, that look almost exactly like the poisonous snake. Animals still stay away from this safe snake. There are differences in the two breeds that make them easily distinguishable if you know what to look for. But even the animal kingdom judges. They don't see an unpoisonous snake. They see the venomous snake, and they steer clear." He stopped, but then continued when he realized he should give her encouragment. "That demon was acting on instinct. You know how dangerous the world can be. You see and acess any threat. When she looked at you she saw a threat, a demon killer. She does not know better. When I first met you and the entire Chosen, I never imagined myself coming anywhere near trust. Had it not been for Nennia, I would not even have come. But I learned that my judgments of everyone were wrong. There are people here I can trust. No doubt you thought you had figured someone out just by looking at them, only to find you were mistaken. Give it time, for we are all being judged now. To keep an open mind in a setting like this is dangerous. One must be on his or her gaurd. There will be time for friendships to be built, but everyone should value thier safety over trying to accept everything with open arms."
Kith returned his gaze to her face, as his eyes had wondered towards the ground when he began speaking. Mentally he felt exhausted. Rarely, if ever, had he used his mind so strenously for conversation. Consolation, giving advice....it was so taxing for him, like he was working a muscle he never used.

[I would like to join.. as Eru pmed me.. I'm still a bit clueless on te plot so bear with me if my post has some flaws ]
Fog ascended in the open fields like a grey curtain. A shadow of a figure could be distinguished but only if one would look close enough. How long he had been standing there was unsure for in the darkness he seemed invisble as his clothing was dark.
With firm steps he walked through the maze of grey, seemingly his intuition as guide to his destination. With only a short click of his tongue he would inquire if his companion still followed him. It was a most odd creature which followed his master with gracefull moves. Like a griffin, it had the head of an eagle, claws armed with talons, and wings covered with feathers, the rest of its body being that of a horse.
The man, who went by the name of Dylan, dug with his hand for a moment in the feathers of the creature and patted him. He himself, had a pale, pointed face that recalled a person who'd just overcome a fever. His eyes on the contrary were dark and able to look right through a man. His chestnut colored hair was long and wild like the manes of a lion.
Thus the man and the Hippogryph strode on in silence, which was sometimes interupted by a click of the tongue by the former and answered by croaking of the latter.
A dim light appeared in the grey scenery and as they approached the man's pace quickened, almost eager. It was a fire and several people were huddled around it. Dylan silently approached them as the Hippogryph settled content in the moist grass a few feet from the fire. THe light now shone on the man's features as he looked around and with a soft voice he spoke: "Greetings.."

Meegan still remained by Queb's foreleg much to the dragon's annoyance. He had many human and non-human friends, but Meegan was his first true rider. He was beginning to doubt his decision - it was difficult to get the girl to come out of her shell. He let out a smoke filled sigh. And saw his companion glare in his direction, as she guessed why he was exasperated.
"Do not patronize me, Queb," she hissed, drawing her tiny frame up to appear taller.
Quebedeaux's lips drew up and revealed long ivory colored fangs, although reminiscent of a snarl the girl recognized it as a pleased smile.
That is why you were chosen. You have fire enough for a dragon rider yet, girl. He thought smugly to himself. Now, for curing a bit of her shy nature. He stepped back and pushed her forcefully forward with his nose towards Dylan.
Meegan immediately stumbled forward at the push, but understood the gesture well enough. She held up her hand in greeting. "Hello, I'm Meegan."

When Ayvein sat down beside Kith and spoke to him, she did not expect him to reply. When he did, she looked up and meet his gaze, and she could feel his face and words turn soft as he empathized with her, and also reasoned. Her gaze lingered on his face for a few moments as he turned to look at the ground as he spoke, and Ayvein listened to his words openly, nodding a few times in agreement. After he finished, and his gaze meet hers again, she blushed slightly, yet Ayvein had no idea why she did so. She glanced at the ground quickly, recovering from the unexpected reaction, before she returned her gaze back to his.
"Thank you." She said simply, trying to express her gratitude. "I knew all of that before, but I let her judgement cloud my reasoning - I will remember to try and not let that happen again as more of them contiune to arrive." She contiuned to whisper - she heeded Kiths advice, but she still did not want the newcomers to overhear her conversation with her friend. "Thank you again, Kith." She told him, smiling slightly.

Katyln was still distrustful of Ayvein as she tried to keep a calm voice, greeting the newcomers. Eugenia had a more difficult time adjusting to the multitude of flying large beasts. Believing itself to be the superior creature, it often exercised that belief. Now confronted with creatures similar in size, strength, and speed, it was thoroughly aggressive, as if it could ward all of them off. Katyln had to break off introductions to pacify it. In fact, she wondered if it would be better if she told the present company that she summoned it from another universe, giving them an excuse for its belligerence. Instead she made a pitiful stab at conversation, "So..." She turned to the person who called herself "Rena" and asked, "You were going to tell us why we're all here?"
