Richard Harlow had given up pacing in front of the door a few minutes ago. He didn't much see the point; there was no one passing by on the street, and those that were inside weren't going anywhere.
Richard was a Royal Guard, but at this point he wasn't sure who he was guarding. Was he keeping people out, because the murderer must still be inside? Or was he keeping people in, because one of them was the murderer?
In any case, Richard had his suspicions. He hadn't technically met most of the guests yet, but first impressions often said more than people were willing to admit.

Renaldo felt the weight of someones gaze on him and his eyes turned towards a woman in black [not sure what color you are wearing, but feel free to tell me differently^^], he noticed the way she wrung her hands around that red hankerchief and wanted to walk over and calm those trembling hands, but he held back.
That was not his job, to soothe a woman's troubles, especially the ladies, he was a magician and therefore a man of secrets and mysteries, and so he sidestepped her and made his way towards the other end of the room, smiling at some of the men and women he passed.

Quote: Matthew closed his eyes for a few moments. "Something alcoholic." He said the the maid, ansering her inquiry with a stiff, haughty tone. He was in no mood for pleasentries, least of all when directed at a servant.
Alice dipped her head politely. "As you wish." She strode off and passed by the other guests, stopping at the table. She fished out a beer from under the table, cracked it open and poured some into a glass. She then carried the glass back over to the man and offered it to him, "Here you go sir. 'Tis brandy." She gave a weak smile, "It is all that we have. We do not like to have alcohol around the children."

Layla took a look around, curious to see who else had showed up. There was the maid, the magician and several others. Her gaze lingered on all of them for several seconds before she finally cast her eyes down towards the floor, blinking slowly.

Patricia let her eyes follow the man briefly before inhaling the smell of her handkerchief - scented with lavender like all women of good taste did when they worried. It was such a calming smell, reminiscent of long past childhood days - times that would never come back around no matter how hard one wished them to.
Quite done strolling the room, the raven haired heiress sat straight backed in a chair, tucking one ankle behind the other, both hands resting in her lap. She was the picture of poise once more. Another deep breath and she raised her hand to gesture one of the maids over.
What was the girl's name again? Agatha, no...not right. Annie? Alice! That was it!
"Alice," the woman spoke finally, her voice shaking only the slightest bit, although that would be quite natural considering the distressing situation she was being forced to endure. "I do believe I could use a glass of warm tea. Fetch it for me?" The last sentence was more of an order phrased as a question, after all, the maid could not refuse her guests.

Alice had just given the man his brandy when she heard someone call for her. She turned to see a very well-dressed lady. Then Alice remembered that a wealthy heiress had been added to the guest list. Alice curtsied to her, "As you wish, miss." With that she stood up and strode off. She went back into the kitchen and told the cook how things were out in the main room. Alice then made the tea herself. She boiled the water, poured it into a tea cup through a strainer which had the herbs to make the tea. She set the strainer sit in the water so the tea got stronger, and when Alice thought it was satisfactory, she removed the strainer, set it onto the kitchen sink and picked up the cup.
Alice walked out of the kitchen, down the hallway and into the main room. She walked over to the heiress and handed her the tea. "Here ye' go miss. It's hot so ye'll want to be careful."
