Cerita followed Lessien and Elrenia to the doorway. "How can we hope to defeat the shadowlings if we do not know what causes them harm? Will these soldiers even stand a chance against these monsters?"

I know what causes them harm." Lessien said."light. They are afraid of light, it will drive them back to the shadow realm." She held up her ring."this will help us close the leak, all we have to do is drive them back." She leapt onto a horse and set off to warn the people, while Peter, Susan Edmund and Lucy rallied their forces.

Lessien beckoned for them to follow. She dismounted and crept towards the leak."Watch out!!!"She screamed. The shadow was spreading towards Cauwen.Lessien grabbed her friends and shoved them out of the way. She began closing the leak, as the army rode up and began to attack the shadowlings.

(Let's just say it's nighttime or else the shadowlings would be too vulnerable) "Woah!" Elrenia cried as the shadowlings advanced on the army. "They are stronger than ever. I wonder what happened. These shadowlings do not come from the White Witch! Don't they act a bit like Orcs and Uruk-hai but they look like enemies from the White Witch?" Elrenia stopped, horrified with realization. "What if Sauron and Jadis have joined forces?" Everyone froze. The shadow leak started to shrink, but hardly anyone noticed. Elrenia shook her head to shake away the thoughts and took out her snowglobe to reflect the light from the moon onto the approaching attackers. The shadowlings dissolved into black powder which disappeared after a few moments. Elrenia got to pick up a pinch of the powder, but drew her fingers back as if it had burned her. "Ah!" she cried. She looked at her fingers and they turned into a deep purple-blue colour. "The Black Breath...Sauron..." was all she could say before she collapsed.

Cerita shook her head. "Athelas," she said, looking at the rest of the Wanderers. "We need the herb athelas, which is only found in Middle Earth. And unfortunately, it can only be used in the hand of a king such as Aragorn."

Peter took a bowl of steaming water, snapped the athelas in half, and tossed them in the water. A fresh scent flew into the air. Elrenia's eyes fluttered open.
