The shrieks suddenly increased in volume, but were drowned out within minutes by harsh, deep cries, those of goblins. The din that rose up after that was greater than anything ever heard in these woods, and Rienwyn groaned softly and pressed her hands over her ears. What are you waiting for? Are you going to let it burn up in the fire?! a thought screeched in her head, and she suddenly raced off towards the village, knowing she was making a very big mistake if the goblins spotted her..

Aadi saw Rienwyn run off and let out another groan. The girl was going to get herself killed! Concentrating on her head for a moment, she blocked out the cries from the elements and only heard what her ears brought her. She looked briefly at Syleal the went after Rienwyn. Half way there she stopped. What was she thinking? Why go after a human girl? But she knew the answer, even though she wouldn't admit it to herself, there was something positively un-human about her, and Aadi was a curious being.

Evading all the goblins that tried to rush her, Rienwyn arrived at the inn where she lived just in time to see the third floor go up in flames. By the Maker, get in there now! Wasting no time, Rienwyn rushed in the back door and got into the kitchen quickly, then raced into the common room and ran up the flight of stairs to reach the second floor. Once there, she then raced to her room and threw the door open, and sighed softly in relief, seeing that it was just how she left it. She then proceeded to grab several things and stuff them in a pack helter skelter, and once finished with that, she then knelt by her bed and pulled out a tightly wrapped bundle from under it, then placed it gently in her pack. Getting up quickly and putting the pack on, she then left the room quickly, since the fire was rapidly spreading by then.

Aadi slightly lost track of Rienwyn in all the chaos of the village. I remember why I don't travel she thought cynically. She scanned the crowds and finally saw a speck of red hair going into a building that was becoming engulfed in flames. Aadi sprinted towards the building and looked about the tap room of what had been the village Inn. Knowing full well the fire planned to take the second floor soon, she rushed up the flight of stairs and went down the hallway in search of the girl.
Seeing her emerge from a doorway she went over and grabbed her by the arm.
"Come on, the fire is spreading." she stated simply in a calm voice.

Rienwyn jerked slightly in surprise at being grabbed like that, though she quickly snapped out of it as smoke began billowing from down the hallway, as well as when there was a very loud crash downstairs, accompanied by many harsh voices. Goblins!

Aadi heard the noise made downstairs accompainied by the rough voices of Goblins. She reached behind for her bow and realized she had left it behind. She cursed. This day couldn't get better. The fire was licking down from the
third floor, and although she didn't mind the heat as an elemental, neither was she exempt to its effects. She'd have to use the elements, and she hated having to rely on them. Her eyes darkened without her knowledge as she called on the power to keep the hear and flames away from the two women.

Rienwyn, without realizing what she was doing, moved away from Aadi and raced down the hallway, straight into the smoke, and she rushed into the room at the end of the hallway. Stifling a scream upon finding the bodies of her 'parents', she then moved to the wardrobe and threw the doors open, then quickly grabbed a sword and sword belt, quiver and bow that were propped up in there, then she raced out of the room again and ran down the hall, trying hard not to breathe in too much of the smoke.

Aadi didn't notice Rienwyn run off until she came back from the smoke. A little stunned she noticed the heavy smoke now surrounding them. Bloody smoke she thought, it was the only part of fire she disliked. She dashed into a room and tore off the sheet from the bed, and tore two long stripes from it. Emerging back into the hallway, she handed one to Rienwyn with instructions to tie it around her mouth and nose, to help her breathe against the smoke. Aadi did the same with her strip fastened it behind her head tightly.

Rienwyn quickly follwed Aadi's example, then hurriedly and awkwardly belted on the sword, and then did the same with the quiver, though it was off-kiltered because of her pack. "We need to get out of here..and fast.." she said, voice coming out thickly.

Syleal saw the fire and instantly casted a brief spell which cooled the fires near him where the heat wouldn't kill him. He unsheathed his sword and followed the two women.

I was cured all right.

"Agreed." Aadi said stiffly. She looked towards the flight of stairs and then back at the girl. "Do you know how to use that?" she asked indicating the sword.

"Decently, yes." Rienwyn said, before drawing the long blade. "My da began teaching me a little over a year ago.."

Syleal raised his head scarf to filter to the smoke and waited for the two women to talk things over. He wished they would just hurry up...he doubted that the building would last very long.

I was cured all right.

"Well there's no time like the present to get a little practice." Aadi said to Rienwyn before she started towardly the stairs, waiting for the others before heading down.

Rienwyn nodded silently, before heading towards the stairs, shifting the sword from hand to hand until downstairs, where she then took it back in her right hand. No goblins yet.. she thought, looking around warily.

Syleal followed them down the stairs and smelled something. Something flithy...he turned his head backwards and saw two goblins killing a civillian. "You brutes!" Syleal yelled, charging at them.
