"If only I had a torch," John reprimanded himself as he stumbled along the dark passageways. He slowly fought against the fear of being lost here in the secret passageways. At times when he started to give up hope, he heard the echoes of footsteps, brining him hope and relief. He turned around yet another bend...and ran straight into Mary and Kira.

"Ahh!" Kira screamed, but managed to muffle it just before the sound echoed throughout the school. She jumped back, sure the person was Mrs. Allen on her epic and unstoppable search to find Kira.

John swore loudly as he retreated backwards, the rough rock wall catching his back. He breathed several times really fast before saying "What are you guys doing here?"

"John??? How did you...? Wow. You remembered the way really well; or have you been exploreing without me?" She put her hand out and felt him just to cheak it really was him. "Oh well we are escapeing from Allen; becuase Kira here has stubled across somehting she shouldn't."

"Alright, alright." Matt muttered. "I just wanted to take a swim.." He ran after Larain, leaving the teacher's section. He wondered what to do next. Jacen and Kira would be there any moment. But so would the teachers. And Matt liked to avoid detention for the rest of his school career so he said: "Dorms.. now. I guess we'll have to change first before finding the others.."

He wondered why he was saying this to Larain. Usually he was a one-man's-team, doing these things on his own. But now, he realised, he wanted to keep Larain from trouble too. He grabbed the cigarette out of her hand and sighed "Bloody waste of tobacco.."

John allowed Mary to brush her hand at his overly skinny chest while saying, "Same as you. Hiding from a miserable bat. Think my antics was the last straw for her." He hesitated as what Mary said slowly registered, "Hang on? What did you just say?"

Aubin was not on top of her game today. It had taken her far more time than it normally did. The raven haired girl ran over to where she saw Mary and Kira disappear to. Her brother had disappeared to mess with a few of the locks, he may not be the best with books, but he was quite good with tools. Aubin stopped next to Mary, her blue eyes narrowed in confusion, "What is this I hear about all the teachers? Have they gone batty?"

Kathryn started up the steps to the second floor of the library, curious about this book. The sensible part of her told her that it was a mistake-that perhaps all this trouble started from the book...but that in itself made little sense. Maybe, just maybe she thought, all of this is just a coincidence. "You coming?" she asked as she turned to look back at Don.

Caunion your fine, but Meathoriel could you possibly change your post? It just seems so unlikely that she would find her way thier that quickly. Mary, Kira and John are quite far in and round quite a few courners from the place Mary and Kira first enetered. Sorry.)

Mary's breath caught slightly in her throat as she touched him; it always happened when she touched him. However even though he could not see her she kept her face blank from long habit. She quickly pulled her hand away. "I said that...what?? Your antics??" The disbelief was clear in her voice. "What did you; the star student do to need to escape? You explain first and then we will my love."

Don followed behind Kathryn.
"Yeah. Why don't we start on the third level? Oldest books are up there I think. And this book is old... if it exists," he said, looking around for the stairs that led to the next level of the libarary. It was a small metal spiral staircase in the far corner of the room, which led to the third floor of the library.



Larain glared at Matt. Of all the people she had to go through all that with, why'd it have to him him. But, she guessed anybody was better than her brother. But why did it seem like he didn't wnt her to get caught, either? Usually guys like that just left the other behind to take the blame. And he seemed like the usual guy. Shrugging it off, Larain just nodded, and started off in the direction of the dorms. Maybe she'd change out of the stupid academy uniform. She'd at least wear the jacket, though. It was the only jacket she had that fit right...

Kathryn nodded as she made her way up the spiral staircase to the third floor. "Well, we won't know until we start looking," she replied. As they came to third floor, Kathryn glanced around at the shelves filled with old books covered with dust. "It looks as if no one cleaned this place in years," she muttered.

Don nodded.
"You don't have allergies, do you? Though, I'm not sure if I'd want you to get those beautiful golden locks dirty with dust," he said with one of his grins. Someone who knew him really well, like Larain, would know that that was his flirting smile.

But before Kathryn could say anything, he was deep in trying to find the book. He had to wipe dust away from a few spines to see what color they were. Most the books were leather bound, or stacks of paper held together with string, and didn't even have a cover. There was also a few shelves that were just pieces of faded parchment...

Kathryn blushed slightly at Don’s remark and shook her head as she began to help Don search for the book.

"Legends, Histories, Maps." she muttered as she flipped through some of the parchments. "You would think if these were classics the staff will keep them in better shape," she muttered. She then turned her attention to another shelf of dust-covered books. Brushing away the dust on one, she saw a brown-colored spine and quickly moved on to the next one. "Well, the staff should be grateful to us-for doing their dusting for them," she remarked playfully. "Any luck?" she asked Don.

"No, none yet. Wonder how old some of this suff is. I mean, these parchments look ancient," Don said, skimming the lined up spines with his finger. Blue leather, brown, cloth cover... There was a large variety of different kind of books.

(okay... going to do something... a little drastic now, lol!)

Don saw a red leather covered book, finally, and pulled it out to look at it. He opened it. Biography of Leonardo DaVinci, was written on the page when one opened the cover. That couldn't be it. He put the book back on the shelf where it came from. Just as he put the book back, something in the shelf clicked. The book shelf started to rotate. It stopped perpedicular to where it once stood. Behind it was a dark passage.

"Uh, Kathryn... I think I found something!" he said over his shoulder, staring at the gaping passage, not wanting to look away...

Kathryn quickly came over and stared in shock at the secret passage Don found. "What on earth-" she whispered, unable to take her eyes from the dark tunnel. "Do you think it is safe?" she asked finally.

"Only one way to find out," Don said, stepping into the dark passage. After a few more steps, Don saw lights on the walls around a corner. It was a flickering light, like flames. "Must be fire torches," he murmered.

He turned back to Kathryn, holding out his hand.
