Lucy's eyes set themselves on Edward, as she was being carried away to her room. She cried and reached out her hand for Edward until he could no longer be seen.
As her father placed her in her room and then shut the door, Lucy cried all the more. She did not like being left alone and frightened. She could hear the nervous voices of her parents and Edward's nonstop cough. "Daddy! Please! DADDY! MOMMY! Please........" her voice then trailed into a mob of sobs.

The light sound of a siren could be heard in the far distance. It was the sound of an ambulance about two blocks away.

Katherine didn't know what to do. She was scared for Edward and for her daughter. She didn't want her daughter to lose another person that she loved. She was shaking slightly and continuing to pat his back, as she looked over to Timothy. She felt tears reach her eyes and her lip quivered.

Timothy heard the sirens coming closer to the home.
"Katherine, get away from Edward! Now!" he shouted in a harsh loud voice towards his wife, pulling her away from the scared young man on the couh.

The ambulance's siren was blaring loud, as it pulled into the driveway of the house. Medics were rushing out of the car, carrying bags of instruments and pushing a stretcher to the front door.
The doorbell rang and a man voice called, "MEDIC! Open the door!"

Lucy jumped on top of her bed and watched the medics outside of her house. The sound of the siren, the bright lights, and the panic in the household were all too familiar. Her heart dropped and she sobbed all the louder.
Jumping off the bed and running to her bedroom door, she hit it angrily with her hands, and cried, "DADDY! MOMMY! Let me out! EDWARD!"

Katherine stared at Timothy for a few moments, but then ran to the door. She quickly opened it up to let the medics in. She stayed against the wall, so she wouldn't get in their way.

Another medic ran into the room. "Holy sh-" Apparently, his eyes had set on the sad, sickly figure on the couch.
Gulping down a lump in his throat, Edward brought his face up from the carpet.
Tired eyes looked back into the medic's face, but then the mechanical man dropped his head again, and kept it there, as though it was too heavy to hold up.

Lucy continued to sob and scream her parents names from the bedroom. She was beginning to make herself sick...since she was worked up so much. She coughed and gagged a little and then continued to cry.

"Oh my........" the other short medic said. Without question, he dashed over to Edward and immediately pushed his shoulders against the couch, "Sit back, sir. Sit back." He dropped the black medical kit down onto the carpet and opened it, "Josh, a little help here. Get the fluids ready."
He then grabbed the IV needle and tried to lift Edward's squeaky sleeves up, but found he couldn't move them. "What are you glued together or something?" he said sarcasticly to himself.
After trying to lift the sleeve, he eventually gave up and stuck the needle into Edward arm, near the elbow joint on the inside of his arm. "Stay still and try not to move!"

Katherine slowly covered her mouth with her hand as she watched Edward in horror. She heard Lucy screaming in the background, so she went to go check on her quickly. She slowly opened the door and pulled Lucy into her arms, in a loving embrace.

The other medic, Josh, came up to Alan. "What the he-" A sickened brow poured over his face as he continued to stare at Edward Scissorhands.
Meanwhile, the 'mechanical boy' felt his eyes sting in pain. What were they doing to him? Who were these strangers?
His pulse quickened and Edward felt his heart tick-tock deep inside him. He turned his hollow gaze over to the the medic who stuck the needle into his arm, and something inside him crumbled and died away.

"I'm sorry if this hurts, sir. JOSH! I need the fluids! Stop staring! QUICK!" Alan continued to hold the needle in place with one hand and then reached inside the bag and grabbed an oxygen mask. He placed it over Edward's spikey head and onto his mouth and nose. Twisting the oxygen tank, it allowed oxygen to flow freely into Edward's fragile system.

Lucy hugged her mother tightly and cried into her shoulder, wetting Katherine's blouse. "M-m-m-mommy....what's w-w-w-wrong with E-E-Edward...." she stuttered as she tried to catch her breath.

Katherine swallowed hard and felt tears slide down her cheeks. "Lucy, sweetheart... you need to breathe, before I answer anything." She whispered and wiped some of Lucy's tears away.

Edward's eyes turned glossy. A hole felt like it drilled through his stomach, and he fell into a never ending pit. The scared 'mechanical' boy felt himself shiver like a frightened young puppy, and his body slowly become weak.
"Man, this is not good.." Josh said reaching into the bag and rushing the fluids to Alan carefully, before returning back his gaze to the sickly looking monster infront of his eyes.

Lucy tried to calm herself and eventually she stopped crying but her breathing was in long short gasps. "W-w-what is wrong? What's h-h-happening?" she asked as she began to walk toward the hallway.

"SHUT UP, JOSH!" Alan snapped. He grabbed the fluids and hooked it up to the IV. "All right, there! This will help you," he said to Edward with hope in his eyes.
Looking back to Josh, he said, "We need to get him to the hosptial stat!"

He stopped and looked at pale helpless Edward, "Is, it that bad? I mean, serious?"
