Lilith fell to her knees dropping her katana to her side. She couldn't believe what had happened. Shannon moved to her and reservedly put her hand on Lilith's shoulder.
"It wasn't your fault. He moved her round"

Lilith shrugged off her hand and raised back up to her feet..walking off to the nearest window.

Melody peered at the ashes of the recently deceased vampiress and glanced back at the immortal she was talking too.

Malcom wiped the ashes form his pale, cold hands and hesitated as he heared voices from the near by shadows. Ignoring Lillith & the mortal, he moved swiftly towards the two females - sensing that one was a vampire and the other was mortal.

Lilith stared out the window into the star filled sky. She couldn't grasp what she'd done. Out of the corner of her eye she sees Malcolm blowing remnants of the one called Eve at her. She was in her own world, whatever was going on around her seemed to be of no relevance anymore.

She heard a voice in the distance...she ignored it.

"Lilith?" Shannon asked, with concern in her voice.
She called out her name again. Lilith came to and turned to face her.

"It wasn't your fault...you weren't to know what he was going to do" Shannon tried to ease her

"I still ended her...it was my blade that pierced her." Lilith spoke somberly

"Let's take him out..now. Like we were supposed to" Shannon whispered in Lilith's ear.

Lilith looked at her, her eyes full of sorrow and hurt.
"I no longer have the desire, nor the will. When the sun rises...I shall walk towards the light that I have not seen with my own eyes for decades, and I too shall be dust"

Shannon looked almost shocked.
"You don't mean that..."

"I do...I've been on this world too long. It's time to end it...and end it with honour. Honour that poor girl never got. That Faith never got.." she trailed off, her voice shaking.

Shannon looked at her, her heart breaking for this creature. One she by rights should have killed upon her first meeting. But the more time she spent with her, the more she understood her. Against her rationale she even began to care for her..reaching out to her she spoke softly.

"Lilith...you don't have to be alone anymore. You can take me. I give myself to you willingly"

Lilith looked at Shannon's sincere face, but shook her head.
"I cannot. You do not know what you ask of me"

Melody noticed Malcom moving towards her and let out a shocked gasp. She tried to sprint past Malcom but he grabbed her by the arm and scoffed, "Another one....".

Shannon was undeterred.
"I know what you are, I know what you do. I'm not cut out to be a Slayer, I never was. But it was expected of me...so I just went along with it. I don't want expectations, or rules..I want to be free"

"Free?" Lilith hissed
"You think being this creature is freedom?"

Shannon scowled back at her "It's more freedom than I've ever known."

"You want to be dependent on the life blood of another? To never see daylight, sunshine again?" Lilith continued trying to dissuade the young Slayer

Shannon shrugged casually. "I've always been more of a night owl anyway." she looked at Lilith seriously
"I want this....if you won't. I'll go elsewhere. But I wanted it to be you..." she looked deep into Lilith's eyes.

Lilith turned away, avoiding her daze.

Mel let out a quick shriek and tried to escape Malcom grasp. She stumbled to the floor and took deep breaths as she picked herself up from the hard, bitter floor.
