Katherine quickly stopped Lucy from going into the other room. She held her close and looked into her eyes. "We have the stay out of the medic's way, sweetheart. They are trying to help Edward. He has really bad coughing." She said softly.

Alan turned to face Timothy with a stern face, "Of course, sir!" He then grabbed Edward by one arm and looked to Josh, "Help me get him on the stretcher."

Katherine didn't want to give her daughter false hope. But, she did want to give her a little hope. "I sure hope so, sweetheart. Just think, though... if something does happen... he'll be with Grandma. Where he's always wanted to be." She said softly and gently wiped Lucy's tears away.

Josh nodded his head, and rushed to the door, where others medics already were bringing in a white stretcher.
Timothy was taken back, "What's wrong with him?" he asked over the chaos.

Lucy's face was that of disbelief. She shook her head in defiance, "No........no........Edward can't die like grandma....." Tears began to glide down her face and she screamed, "NO!!!! NO!!!!!!" Apparently the child had been through too much the past months and she would not accept the fact about Edward leaving them.

Alan helped Edward to the stretcher and placed him on it with Josh.
Turning back to Timothy, he said, "I dont' exactly know sir. His immune system seems to have dropped to a very low state. And he seems to have a severe amount of liquid in his lungs."

Edward's eyes fluttered. He felt the liquid that the medic had injected into his arm, rush through his body. It was cold.
He looked around at the ceiling. He heard the little flower cry for him. Everything started to blur. The ambulance sirens blared into his sensative ears.
The medics mounted the stretcher into the truck.
