At Mrs. Beavers' comment, Peter retrieved his sword from the ice, and he and Susan pulled off their soaking coats and left them behind on a fallen tree, and they moved on, as the air around them grew warmer by the minute.

Evelyn took off her coat and walked on. She looked up at the trees. The air was growing warmer, and she eventually rolled up her blouse sleeves. She kept having to flip her damp hair out of her face, but it eventually dried and she pulled it to the side.

Edmund looked down at the river, hoping his siblings had gotten across.

"It's so warm out!" Ginnabrik said suddenly, and the Witch looked at him coldly. "I'll go check the sleigh." he said nervously, before leaving to do just that. Upon hearing movement nearby, Jadis turned and saw Maugrim and the other wolves, and one of them was carrying Fox.

"We found the traitor. He was gathering troops near the sharwood forest." the wolf holding Fox said to Jadis, before dropping him.

"Nice of you to drop by. I understand you were so helpful to my wolves last night." she said coldly, and Fox looked at her calmly.

"Forgive me, your Majesty." Fox said, lowering his head slightly, and Jadis' eyes narrowed.

"Don't waste my time with flattery." she said shortly, and Fox looked up at her again.

"Not to seem rude, but I wasn't actually talking to you." Fox said, before looking at Edmund.

Edmund looked up at the Witch when she looked at him, and gave her an 'I don't know,' look. When she stepped forward, he glanced at Felicity.

Felicity didn't notice, since she was just staring at Fox silently, knowing things weren't going to end well..

"Where is Aslan?" Jadis demanded of Fox. "Answer me!" she said firmly when he didn't answer, then she raised her wand and prepared to strike.

The fox didn't answer. As Jadis prepared to strike, Edmund jumped in front of him. "Wait! No! Don't. The beaver said something about the Stone Table, and that Aslan had an army there."

Fox looked at Edmund in disbelief, and Jadis looked at Edmund for a moment, then back at Fox. "Thank you Edmund. I am glad this creature saw some honesty before he dies.."

"No!" said Edmund as she froze the fox.

Jadis lowered her wand, then turned and looked at Edmund again, before walking over and slapping him. "Think who's side you're on, Edmund..mine," she said, grabbing Edmund and turning his face towards Fox. "Or theirs."

Edmund looked sadly at the fox, his eyes stinging and moistening.

The Witch then let go of him, and turned back towards the wolves. "Go, gather the faithful. If it's a war Aslan wants, it's a war he shall get." she said, before turning a butterfly to stone.

Evelyn walked into the camp with the others, enjoying the warm weather. She caught herself glancing at Peter, and looked away, at the other species which stared at them. She pulled a strand of hair out of her face as a breeze blew it in front of her eyes.

"Why are they all staring at us?" Susan asked curiously, looking around as they walked, and Lucy smiled suddenly.

"Maybe they think you look funny." she said teasingly, and Peter smiled despite himself.

Evelyn smiled to herself at the remark, then looked ahead.

Mrs. Beaver kept trying to brush off her fur, but Mr. Beaver said, "Oi! Stop fussing. You look lovely."
