"Lightning then," Ghyreian reflected. "And you had best cast your illusion now because Cyan - " She tensed as a shadow fell across her. Blocking the Kagonesti's view of Edwin's casting as best as she could she asked, "What do you want?"

Edwin concentrated and closed his eyes, he thought of a somewhat terrfying figure that would make an impact on these elves and what had they heard about from their arriving cousins?

After a moment there was a red dragon entering the village and setting a house on fire, which was a worthy illusion and threw the hole village into screams and alarms. Edwin glanced at Ghyn.

Lightning crackled from the tips of her fingers and severed the ropes. She leapt to her feet. "The mountains!" she cried.

Edwin ran, but in a different direction and he opened a door as the elves were still terrified and he knocked a guard down before taking his equipment and then running into the woods after Ghyreian.

A few miles on the slopes of the mountains, Ghyreian gazed back down at the Kagonesti village. The elves fled from nightmares in their minds, from phantoms only their imaginations could conjure. It was a fitting parallel to Silvanesti.

"Cyan Bloodbane would be up in these mountains, if anywhere," she murmured. Vengeance. Ironic of her to seek revenge on a land she had renounced so long ago. It was the one thing she could not admit even to herself.

She hitched up her robes and began the arduous trek up the mountainside.

"Are we going to find ourselves a spot to keep an eye on these mountains for a dragon or are we going to look trough every single cave?"

Ghyreian hesitated, for once in her life at loss for what to do. The night falling from the east gave her second thoughts.

"We'll make camp," she said. "It'll be impossible to climb these mountains during the day."

Ghyreian felt drowsiness overtake her as soon as her head hit the pillow. Something told her she should have kept watch. The Kagonesti were below them, after all. But she just felt so tired... the day had been fatiguing....

Green scales in the night. A nameless shadow that blotted out the moon. Then nothing.

She was not certain what had woken her - the lingering voice gently tugging her mind or sheer instinct. Whatever it had been, she was now fully awake and conscious. The cave loomed up before her, vast and forbidding. She wrinkled her nose at the stench of chlorine gas. Her elvensight detected two things: Edwin lying comatose beside her and a larger, more formidable form.

Cyan Bloodbane sat in the center of the cavern, regarding them both with amusement.

"And so we meet again, worms. Did you truly think you could escape me? More, actually seek me out and defeat me?"

Edwin woke up with a grin on his face and looked around seeing Cyan, he sighed like this was the end and wondered what the dragon wanted of them or was this just a sick game keeping them alive.

"Pretty much.."

The dragon hissed quietly and snaked his head around. As he did, Ghyreian caught a glimpse of a soft green glow pulsating from behind him. She caught her breath.

The dragonorb lay in a pedestal at the center of the cavern.

Come, my magelings... come.... Ghyreian glanced askance at Edwin to see if he had heard it. Cyan Bloodbane extended his claw over the dragonorb and placed it just beyond her reach. Stroking it tantalizingly, he peered at them from glittering eyes. The stench of the wyrm's breath was almost too much to bear. Ghyreian gagged on the chlorine gas.

If they could get the dragonorb....

Edwn got up clearing dust off his robes and then looked at Ghyreian as she looked at him, Cyan was going for the dragonorb with no good intentions in mind. It was their only hope, the way Edwin saw it Ghyreian was strong enough to handle it and could defeat Cyan with it. Edwin looked at Ghyreian with a grin.

"I`ll keep him busy while you get the orb..."

Edwinm whispered before stepping forwards.

Ghyreian nodded once to show she understood. She normally wouldn't have considered the sheer enormity of the task before her. Her motivation was the caressing calls at the back of her mind.

The dragonorb wanted to be rescued.

Cyan was pragmatic enough to know that something was amiss. Shrieking in triumph, he blasted a wall of chlorine gas at both of them. Ghyreian instinctively threw a defensive barrier around herself and made a dash for the dragonorb.

Edwin did the same quickly and then prepared a spell, not to kill, but to confuse. Soon the room had 6 other Edwin`s standing there, moving the same way and facing the dragon. Cyan began destroying the images in rage as Edwin prepared his second spell, soon as 5 of the figures were out Edwin shot a rain of acid towards Cyans chest.

Cyan drew breath and decided to smoke the stupid intruder, Edwin couldn`t finish his next spell and quickly looked at Ghyreian hoping that she had reached the dragonorb.
