Catalina felt her heart break as she beheld her husband's tears. She had never wanted to hurt him, but she needed him to be ready in case the worst should happen. "I-I'm sorry, my love. But I can feel...Death...drawing nearer. I promise you...I will try to fight him...as long as I can..." she whispered weakly as she tried to brush away her husband's tears. "You will know...if you find another..." Catalina added softly. "Your heart...will let you...know..." she added, her voice drifting off again.

Catalina gave Gareth a gentle smile and weakly nodded. She would rather have him stay by her side but she wasn't going to try to stop him, not after seeing the determined look in his eyes. "Thank you, my love," she said instead, praying to the gods to give her the strength to hold on.

As morning arrive and the sun's rays danced over the earth, Catalina remained limp in their bed. Her face was paler than the day before and her fever still high. Dimly aware of Gareth calling her name, Catalina moaned softly, not having much strength to answer. "Gareth..." she murmured. Her breathing had become much more shallow as her conditioned worsened overnight.

Catalina weakly shook her head before managing to force her eyes open, wanting to gaze upon her husband before he left. "I-I'm all right, my love..." she whispered faintly. "T-take care, and I-I love you..." she added before raising her hand to lightly caress her beloved's cheek with trembling fingers.

Feebly wrapping her arms around her husband's neck as he crushed his lips to hers and began kissing her as if his life depended on it, Catalina returned his passionate kisses as best as she could in her extremely weakened conditioned. She wished she could kiss him as he deserved to be kiss, but with her strength quickly ebbing, she found that she couldn't.

Catalina nodded weakly as she drew in a shaky breath. "I will try, my love," she whispered. "I will try," she remarked before feebly caressing his face one more time. "Do-your-best...and know that no...matter what...I love you..."
