Tortuga. Known far and wide to the upper class as a lawless, raucous, pirate port with no place at all for anyone civilized, or even anyone with good morals. This little misinterpretation of the port, however, made it nearly the perfect haven for pirates, especially so those who were down on their luck.
One such pirate captain in port that day had taken up 'residence' in the Faithful Bride, one of the most famous taverns in the entirety of Tortuga. Sitting in the most secluded corner of the tavern, with her pistol lying on the table, ensured that she would not be bothered. Booted feet propped up on the table and leaning back in her chair, she looked perfectly at ease, though the expression on her face(which was now hidden by her tricorned hat resting low on her forehead) would have contrasted sharply with her stance. In reality, she was very agitated and impatient, since she had been waiting for a report on how repairs were going on her ship, but none of her crew had reported back as of yet.
Finally deciding she had been waiting long enough, she removed her feet from the table and got out of the chair, swept up her pistol from the table with a flourish before stowing it in her belt, then swaggered across the room to the bar, where she slammed several coins down on the counter and called for rum.

The inn door opened and slammed again, admitting a slender personage in a long black coat that was slightly too large for her. She flopped down on a stool beside Raven, flushed. Her curly blonde hair was wildly windswept and her coat was, on closer inspection, rather wet. "Weather's horrible," she observed, shaking water off her hat.
