Shannon looked up as Boone ran off into the jungle. "Boone!" she exclaimed and with an irritated feeling, becuase he didn't tell her where he was going, she got up. Carefully she swept the folds out of her miniskirt and ran after Charlie and Boone into the jungle.

Sayid strolled through the camp under the weight of the firewood he had been gathering in the jungle. His gaze ran over all the familiar faces but he couldn't find Shannon's. Suddenly he saw her as she just entered the jungle and he immediately dropped his firewood. "Shannon!".

"She can't hear you.. " Kate replied as she saw Sayid's worried look on his face. "Where's she going..?" Sayid asked, his eyes still fixed on the spot where he'd seen Shannon. "Is Jack with them..? Idon't want her to be hurt.." he said finally looking at Kate.
Kate shook her head "Nope, Jack's staring at the ocean.." Her voice sounded somewhat annoyed, but she made sure she didn't reveal her true emotions. "Shall we follow them?" Sayid nodded and together they ran into the jungle where Charlie, Boone and Shannon had disapprared, leaving the firewood just as it was.

Claire was walking along the beach, staring out of the water. She couldn't recall how many days they where already on this island. Claire spotted Jack, sitting in the sand, staring on the ocean. She stood infront of him. "Hello." she said. As no answer came, she sat beside him. "Hello? Is anything wrong?"

Another young man, tall and musular, yet disabled, sat in a tree on the edge of the jungle, unnoticed, on the other side of the island. He was quiet and didn't talk much, for no one ever really did to him and he just looked around the clear ocean with his one good eye, sighing as a cool breeze came through the jungle.

Jack looked over at Claire. For some reason, he felt compelled to explain to her, because she always seemed to be able to look on the bright side. "What do we do now?" he asked for the fifteenth time.

Boone and Charlie pushed trees aside as they made their way through the dense jungle. When Shannon caught up, Boone sighed. "Shannon, you're only going to get hurt. Just go back now."

They were walking in a circular clearing. When they stepped in the center, they all went flying, caught in a net. Someone scrambled out of the brush, holding a gun in front of him.

Shade, the guy sitting in the tree, heard screams coming from the other side of the island. His mind raced as his head jolted up and he bolted, leaping down from the tree and landing on his feet and taking off. He could've swore he could've been a sprinter if he ran in track. He cut through the jungle, running quickly dispite the elemnets. He just hoped he wasn't too late.

"Woah! We come in peace!" Charlie exclaimed, hoping the guy wouldn't shoot them. "Yeah, calm down...Take me if you have to." Boone added.

The young man switched his aim to each of them as he spoke. He pulled out a knife, and cut them down before they knew what was happening. When they regained their bearing, Charlie and Boone found the guy holding Shannon in a headlock with his gun to her head. "Where is she?" he asked, breathing heavily.

"He's fine", Claire said. "He's sleeping right now in the camp, a few from our people look after him." She smiled a bit sadly. "When I think back...I would have never had him if this whole thing hadn't happen."

((Wooha! Any idea how big the island is..? It took them more than a week to cross it..))

"Listen.." Kate mumbled as they were running through the jungle. In the distance they heard voices.. and a loud cry. "Shannon.." Sayid mumbled, and in a quick pace he ran out of Kate's sight.
"Sayid!" she yelled and as she knew she was probably doing the wrong thing, Kate had no other choice than to go after him.

Shannon tried to keep her voice from trembling as she said: "where's who..? Who are you..?" Suddenly as Sayid and Kate rushed into the scene Shannon felt a sudeden rush of relief.
"Let her go.." Sayid said, pointing his gun at the stranger. "Put your gun down.. you're surrounded.."

The guy pressed the gun into the side of Shannon's head. "Drop your weapons and put your hands behind your head, or blondie goes!" he shouted.

Charlie looked at both of his hands in confusio and quickly put them behind his head. Boone slowly did the same.




Jack smiled. "I guess you're right. Maybe old Locke was onto something with that whole 'Eveything Happens for a Reason Thing.'

Kate slowly started to walk until she stood somewhat next to the stranger, but then a few paces behind him. She knew what to do.
