((can i try and start? if not, i will edit this, Rav...))
The night's cold chill filled the lands, no matter how distant they where or if they where good or evil. Something was at work that was unknown to many and very bad for many as well. No one knew what was about to happen...no one knew who was to be chosen to lead them to freedom and peace...not even the ones that where chosen...until now.
A young lad, just turning 16, worked with hot metals in an old shop. His dark black hair got into his eyes and it bothered him so, but her was still able to do his work. His name was Shade and he was a blacksmiths apprentice for 3 years now and becoming a good master, dispite his disability. He did not know that his life was about to be changed forever.
(i'm writing this as if he hasn't found the egg yet, if that's okay with you, Rav.)

Kith tore through the underbrush. The braches tore at his arms, but they wern't enough to stop him. He burst out into a clearing and paused to catch his breath. He listened, and thankfully did not here his pursuers. But just to be safe he lept into a tree. He climbed as high as the branches would allow. Hidden by the shadow of oncoming night he settled into a crook of a branch and fell asleep.

When Shade finally finished his work, he placed it on the window sill to cool and he put up his gloves and took off his dirty shirt and put on a clean one. His master smiled at his work and gave him a few shillings for a meal. "You'd better find somewhere warm to sleep tonight. I don't want you to be sleeping on the side of the street again, boy." Shade sighed and said, "I'll find somewhere. Thanks, sir." He nodded his head then left the shop.

Along the dusty path, the sharp, cold wind blew mercilessly. It was also also deserted, save for a lone horse and rider. The rider, stooped slightly in her saddle(for she was clearly female), glanced around at her surroundings warily, and shifted the heavy cloak she wore. It did little in keeping her warm, but it did help cut the wind.
As if in answer to her wariness, she suddenly heard hoofbeats on down the road, and she straightened in the saddle, reaching for the sword belted at her waist,
(Opening for anyone...if it's not taken, I'll improvise. )

(may I do it?)
Shade, after getting the saved up money from his pay, bought some food and then "borrowed" a steed that belonged to him in the first place but was stolen from his and rode away from the city. He rode for a while, his cloak and belongings in his bag and he rode quickly. He then slowed as he neared another city and wondered if he could find a small deserted house for him to lodge in for the night. He slowed the steed to a trot as he neared the entrance.

(Sure. *goes to look up random city*)
As nothing approached for a few moments, the rider relaxed, and turned her mount and rode down the road, stirring up quite a bit of dust as she passed. For nigh on half an hour she rode thus, until she neared a small city, and breathed a quiet sigh of relief as she passed through the gate, and took note of the lack of guards. Once inside the city itself, she saw it was completely deserted, the only sound being that of her horse's hooves ringing against the cobblestoned ground. Still, she remained ever wary and watchful, and soon dismounted to get a better look at all of the buildings. Most were still in very good shape, with a few having the look of being recently inhabited, and these she gave a wide berth.
After a few moments of searching, her search was finally proved fruitful, and she approached the run-down building she had found, moving to slip inside, horse in tow, and hand on her sword hilt. There was always the possibility someone else was inhabiting the run-down building, and that someone else could naturally be unfriendly..

As Shade approched the city and unmounted, he noticed another horse already there, even though the city was deserted. Shade lead his steed into the shadow's where he would blend in and he took out his bow and notched it, walking swiftly yet quietly.

Hearing footsteps even as she moved into the shadows of the building, the rider swiftly pulled her horse inside the building after her, and drew her sword with the rasp of steel against leather echoing softly. She was clearly ready for a confrontation..though she didn't step out of the shadows just yet.

Shade's eyes darted around quickly and swiftly, but he shall no one. He was in the middle of the city and he lowered the bow a little.

Still, she watched from her hiding place, finally venturing to take a step forward, into the moonlight. She was still mostly hidden from view by her cloak, though the lower half of her body, as well as her face(save her eyes) could be seen.

Shade, hearing movement, turned quickly and took aim, but did not shoot. He moved swiftly, quick for a mortal but slow compared to an Elf's speed. He looked at the hooded figure and wished he was hooded or more heavily armed. He swallowed hard and then question, "Who are you, stranger?!"

"I could ask you the same thing." came the dry response, spoken in a slightly lilting, yet musical, tone. And, in direct response to the question, the female's hood was thrown back to fully reveal her features. "And I would watch where I aimed that arrow, were I you."

Shade, dispite his urge to keep it locked on the unknown stranger, lowered his bow. "If you mean no harm to me, I will not harm you, Lady." He bowed slightly.

"No, I mean you no harm." the female said in response, sheathing her sword smoothly. Also, to prove she meant her statement, she shrugged out of her heavy cloak, revealing she had no hidden weapons outside of her clothing. Humans can be so mistrusting sometimes..I suppose that's for their own good.

"I believe you, Lady." Shade said, putting up his arrow and bow. "Why are you here?"
