Sorry for the double post, here is the link to the mark I made up:

Once again, I feel as if I am copying Eragon, at least the movies, anyway. It looks a little like the Gedwey Ignasia does in the movie...

(Just a note : after tonite I will be gone for a week )
Location: Large town/small city somewhere nearby, whose exact location shall be determined later.
As midday turned to a golden afternoon, Arielle Merced, former mercenary, dismounted in the bustling market square. She tied her horse to a post and shrugged - this seemed as good a place as any. As an added bonus, there were plenty of farmers in town for the day, selling their produce and livestock.
After unobtrusively scouting out the marketplace, she picked the most visible location, with plenty of room for the ordinary folk to gather, and began her usual spiel. "My Ladies! My Lords!" People of any station listened to you when you addressed them as a member of a higher class, especially when they weren't. "Good folk all, I stand before you today, your humble servant." Once again she wished she had a hat - she would have flourished it as she bowed. "I see some of you recognize me." Which, of course, they didn't, but it was all part of the game. "Yes, it is truly I, the Warmaiden Arielle. I'd like to correct the rumors that I killed a hundred men in battle - it was only fifty. The dragon that you heard about was merely a complication."
She saw the looks flashing among the gathering crowd - some scornful, some amused, some puzzled - but all curious. She had them.
"But I must confess that I found myself intrigued when Joman - that's Supreme General Notme, to you - mentioned that the hardiest, most courageous men in the world were to be found among the citizens of this town. I placed a wager with him, and I'll do the same with you: Every man here that defeats me in competitive combat of his choice I'll give five silver pieces, and he'll give me the same if I prevail. I am here, you see, on a point of honor, and I leave it to you to prove the Supreme General right. Or wrong." This she added with just a hint of a sneer, enough to trigger the machismo of every male present. "What say you?"

(Yes, we've started! I didn't think I would be able to get online until the weekend, but it's been over 12 hours since my surgery and I actually feel pretty good. It's probably the pain medicine lol. So I'm going to attempt to make a good post.)
Sila walked around the woods surrounding her family's small cottage. She was quite far from home and was now making her way to her favorite place. About half an hour later she reached it. It was a small, peaceful brook surrounded by the most beautiful trees in the whole forest. She saw a large boulder, her favorite thing to sit on when she came here, and began walking towards it.
But when her foot hit the soft made of the bank, the earth began to tremble. It started out slight and then grew more powerful. Sila had to reach up and grab hold of a tree branch so she could keep her balance. Her eyes widened in fear as she felt the ground shake beneath her.
Finally it subsided and she shakily walked over to the boulder. What just happened? she thought to herself. Earthquakes were not a very common event in their homeland. She wondered what could have caused one so suddenly.
A few minutes later, by chance she glanced in the direction of her home and gasped. She could see the small cottage through the trees. That wasn't right. It was much too far away for her to see. She blinked and rubbed her eyes. But it didn't disappear. How could this be happening. Sila stood and began making her way home. She wanted to talk with her sister. Maybe Suakii could calm her down.
She reached the cottage a little while later and found her sister sitting in one of the chairs. There was some broken glass and ice on the floor, and when Sila walked a little closer she noticed that there were burn marks on the arm of the chair. "What's happened?" she asked Suakii.

What was your surgery for?

Aivon smiled slightly as he saw Rhaeryn close the book. That usually meant they would be going inside. Inside, he would sit down, maybe. Jord and Damien--the other two bodyguards--would be in there watching over the Master of the house and his wife, which meant the house would probably be secure enough that he could permit himself to relax--a little bit.
His ears picked up the sound of footfalls behind him, and he tensed again. They matched the pattern that he normally associated with Rhaeryn's mother, but anyone could imitate a walking pattern. A moment later, though, her identity was confirmed when she announced suppertime. Aivon grinned as he saw the book in Rhaeryn's hands suddenly vanish, hidden somewhere in a very practiced move. At least she wasn't caught with it, this time. He nearly winced at the thought--the few times she had, he had not enjoyed listening.

(I had to get my wisdom teeth cut out. Nothing serious, but it still kind of hurts, and I look like chipmunk from all the swelling. Lol)

Suakii turned to her sister, avoiding eye contanct. "I.... I don't know." Then, with a start she realized that there was still ice and glass on the floor. Quickly sweeping it up, and not bothering to pu away the broom, she turned back to Sila,
"Sila, can you keep a secret? Just between us?"
((I'm so sorry, Artemis! I hope you feel better!! :D NOTE: We will be going slower, becuase Valera Elenhathel cannot be here this week. Also, for those who havn't noticed, the Kiani's 'mark' is at the top of this page. ))

(Thanks, SG! )
Sila nodded fervently. "You know I can," she said. Then she lowered her voice a little and said, "Something strange happened to me in the woods." She looked once again at the burn marks in the chair and at the ice and glass that Suakii was sweeping up. "And I'm guessing that something strange has happened to you."

Rhaeryn stood innocently, shoving the offending book under a bush with a foot. I'll come back for it later.
"Coming, Mother!" she called, and glimpsed her mother's retreating back as she reentered the house. A corner of the tome of fairy tales poked out from its hiding place incriminatingly. Rhae gave it a longing look, and poked it again with her toe. It slid out of sight completely and she hastily trotted after her mother, wearily anticipating dinner (which she would probably like) and her parents' obsessive worry with manners, and their exasperation with her inability to remember which fork to use (both of which she didn't).

Suakii nodded, disturbed,
"Yes.... And... Look." She then reluctantly held out her hand, where a small, dark red, scar-like mark, starting at the bottom of her palm, wound up to her thumb, and then back around it, inding in a small swirl, with a dot in the center.
Suakii looked up at her sister, waiting for her reply.

Sila stared down at her sister's hand in bewilderment. Then just out of curiosity, she looked down at her own hand. There also starting at the bottom of her palm and winding up her thumb was an identical mark. She held it out to her sister. "What is going on here?" she breathed in wonder.

(could you possibly change my name to Mrs.Darcy instead of Amoniel! thanks!)
---
Everya sat on the old rocking chair on her porch. It was a cold day and the wind was making her skin feel terribly dry. Despite the horrid weather Everya was rocking in the wooden chair reading a book. She lived on the Ikrean country side just outside a city. She had just moved out of her parents house a year before. She liked the quiet life she lived, but felt lonely. The loss of her beloved brother would scar her forever and she in the back of her mind, revenge was the only thought.
Everya worked at a shop in town and was content with her position. She had a lot of great friends and she knew almost every regular that stopped in the little store. Yet something was making her uneasy, she need not know yet but she could definately feel something was about to happen.

((Sure!))
Suakii stared down at it. She shook her head.
"I have no idea......" Then a thought came to her, "Did anything... wierd.. happen to you?"

((Ok, sorry about the double post... Kel asked me to start her off, so here I go!))
Sielio looked over the land visible from the palace. He looked down at all of the people crowding the streets. He felt horrible. Sometimes, he questioned all this. Why did he have to be king? He had been given the position when he was younger, and he was in heaven. But now, he had come of age, he had seen things, he had had experiences. And a viel had been lifted. Sielio you fool! You arrogent, ignorant, nieve fool! How could you have been so selfish to ignore everything! He repremaned himself silently, You've spent all these years making enemies with your own people... Its time to change that.... Now. With that said to himself, Sielio walked - no, stormed - into his study, where two of his advisers sat, rather startled by his sudden entry, studying. Looking sternly at both of the men present, and turned to the youner one, about 34, at appearence, and said,
"Kial." The man rose slowly, obviously disturbed by the young king's odd behavior,
"Y-Yes, Sire?" he asked, eyeing his liege carefully,
"I want the Nyora-Gen in Rhiosim as soon as possible. Unseen." He said this sharply, barely flinching as his eyes bored through the adviser.
Kial nodded. This was odd, the Nyora-Gen, the most powerful, skilled group of spies in all of Ikrean were rarely summoned.
"Of course, your majesty... Do you have any orders to them directly?" Sielio thought about this, then nodded quickly,
"Tell them... I want every detail avaiable on this 'Grenik', and I want those secrets without being found out. I cannot affor that. That is all."
Kial nodded again,
"Yes, right away, Sir." With that, he left the room. Sielio then walked away. It was odd, having to dispose of his ussual weak appearence, and have to act like that... He was dreadfully ashamed of his cowardous self. He hid it, but not well enough. If he ever met up with the wrong person, he was done for.

Sila nodded slowly. "I was up at my spot, you know by the creek," she said to Suakii, "And all of a sudden when I step on the ground it began to shake. I had to hold on to a tree limb just to stay standing." She paused and shook her head in wonderment. "But that's not even the strangest part. When I looked in this direction I could see the cottage. You know how far away that place is. I should never have been able to see our home!"

Suakii, stared, amazed.
"Thats not possible..." She pondered this, and looked out the window. Sure enough, the creek was visible.
"This is so wierd." She said, turning back to Sila.
"Well, I was simply having a drink..." she started, pooring a glass of water - this time, in an invaluable wooden glass. After she was done, she walked over to Sila and continued, "And then, I just..." She relaxed, staring into Sila's eyes. And affirmed by the loud crackling noise that ensued, the water inside the cup froze.
"Also, you might have noticed the burn on the chair...." She commented, tossing her head to the side, eyeing the damaged chair dreadingly, wishing it could just dissapear.
