Louy sat on the front porch of her dad's house, two houses down. She was sitting in a rocking chair, bare feet up on the railing. In her lap was a pad of paper, almost full of sketches of various things. Now she sketched a picture of a horse rearing with lighting behind it. Louy looked up to see Skylarh.
"Hey Sky, how's it goin'?"

Adara Reed had just throttled off of the school bus and was heading for home. Her backpack was crudely worn as both of the straps were barely hanging on both shoulders. One of the front pockets was slightly opened with an envelope peeping out of its dark confinements.

"Ahoy!" Adara shouted to Sky and Louy as she scampered past them, dashing into the house, and then throwing her backpack off and onto the floor so it lay perched up and leaning against the kitchen counter. Her shoes were also tossed off and stood next to her backpack in a crooked manner. "We have arrived, and we shall conquer and claim our booty!" Adara giggled and ran off into her room with the new poster she had recieved today at school.

Adara's sister, Natalie, had arrived home from work maybe twenty minutes earlier. "Dare," Natalie called out to her sister, looking into the room and leaning against the inner rim of the door. Dare was Natalie's main nickname for Adara.

"I keep telling you to call me Aalt, sis," Adara complained as she climbed up on her bed to pin her latest poster on the wall, "Aalt. A-a-l-t. Aalt."

Unamused, Natalie lifted up the envelope and asked, "Adara, what is this?"

"If it is not me treasure, I would not be concerned with such matters." Adara finished the last corner of the poster and plotted herself upon the bed, bouncing once.

Rolling her eyes, Natalie read the letter aloud, "Dear Natalie Reed, your sister has created a fuss once again in class today. She spoke of a hidden treasure in the classroom, and soon she proceeded to empty out each of the student's desks in search of such a treasure." Natalie waited for a moment, but, when her younger sister didn't respond, Natalie took the inicitive, "Dare, this isn't the 17th century. There aren't any pirates roaming around attacking our classrooms and work places. I love you," Natalie had moved over to the bed and sat down next to Adara, "but you need to ease up a little on the pirate behavior in class, or I am afraid that you wouldn't be able to stay here with me anymore."

Adara thought of a moment. "Ok," she reluctantly agreed, "I won't do any more of that stuff in class. You got my word."

Natalie shook her head at the ignorance Adara appeared to have seeping out of her. "I love you," she told Adara as she wrapped her arm around Adara's shoulder to give her a side hug, "and, once you are done in here, come out. We'll have a movie night."

"Movie night!" Adara squeeled, jumping off of the bed, "I'll be ready faster than a ship can outrun a hurricane, matey."

"I bet you will," Natalie laughed and walked out of the room.
