na'Tatha entered her quarters and contacted her superior. After the preliminaries, she made her report. "Sir, the Jedi would like to meet with the Maedan in two days - but on Maedan ground."

The commander pursed his lips. "This could be a problem."

"Yes, sir."

He thought for a while and shuffled through some datapads. "The venue will have to be very close to the border. Or perhaps in one of the Integrated Cities."

na'Tatha nodded, wondering where he was going with all this. She soon found out.

"Set it up, Subcommander. You will have the full backing of the Associate. We do, however, expect you to use all discretion in this volatile situation. The last thing we want is to be blown off the face of this planet."

Viree13 rolls her eyes. "Look, all we need is diplomacy and plans B, C, and D..... If we meet them on their ground, it gives them a sense of security, which hopefully means they won't do anything rash.... If we have an escape route, we'll be fine....."

Sorry guys, I was gone for the weekend.

Sahrai was silent for a while, sitting motionless, leaning on his hands in the thick carpet. Finally he looked up. "I have a feeling they will end up doing something rash, but as for the escape route - that could very easily turn into trouble for us - finding it, that is."

Viree13 nods. "Yes, that is a valid concern..... But I have an idea......" With that, her body melts into the form of a Maedan. "I can assume any form you wish, I can infiltrate any base, and finding an escape route will be easy from there......" A smirk crosses the stranger's face. "This will be plan B..... We get in, I go in with you as a, mist, we'll say, then transform into a Maedan, either get our ship free, or get a Maedan ship, relay you any info you need, and we'll escape from there....." Viree13's form grins, then changes back to her normal form.....

na'Tatha ended the transmission and leaned back in her chair, sighing. This was going to be difficult.

She hoped that, if there truly was a power behind the Maedan, they wouldn't try to attack the Jedi. If the Jedi responded with force, they would only succeed in destroying everything that the Maedan and Taarin had built together. It was better that a Jedi die for the sake of peace, than save himself at the price of the planet's population.

Bringing up a map on her terminal, the subcommander began studying it. The Integrated Cities that her commander had mentioned sat on the border between the two territories. Within them, Maedan and Taarin had coexisted peacefully - although they were certainly edgy now. One of those cities was probably their best bet for a meeting place.

Sahrai looked at Viree13, raising his eyebrows. "I would be a mist? I was hoping for something helpful - it is beyond the power of any shapeshifter to change the shape of someone else. No - if the negotiations fail, we need to stick around. The Maedan will be sure to attack not only us but the Taarin, too. We will try to disarm their weaponry before they can do much damage. Otherwise, we risk destroying the whole planet. If you choose to not accompany me, I will go alone, and you may return to Ossus. However, until it is time to make that decision, we will continue preparing for the negotiations."

Sorry to blow your idea, Luinnar, but it would be powergaming to be able to change other people's shape - no creature in the Star Wars universe has been able to do that so far.

The subcommander worked until late that night, manipulating her Associate contacts and exchanging tense, formal transmissions with the administrators of several cities.Finally, she had the location narrowed down to one of two venues; she could confirm one of them tomorrow. The Associate was discussing acceptable delegates with the Maedan.

When she could do no more that evening, na'Tatha went to the military training rooms and practiced her close-combat techniques, sweating away the confusion and frustration of the day. When she was training, nothing else mattered - only speed, reflex, and targets. Throwing a lightning-fast series of kicks, she grinned inwardly. If one had years of reflex training, one didn't need this Force that the Jedi depended so much upon.

Eljaraj was in a dark corner of her small room, meditating on their mission. The teenager had been on several missions with her Master, but this was her second without him. Her violet eyes opened and she looked around.

The way you have it worded it looks like you're saying that she would change Sahrai's form.

"Then next time please phrase your suggestion differently," Sahrai replied, shutting off the datapad finally. "Let's get some rest - tommorrow will be a busy day."
