Shadyw was walking slowly among the trees, talking to them in the way only she could. She had found, over her many years among her beloved trees, that they all had distinct personalities. And yet all different kinds of trees had certain traits they clung to. The oaks were usually somber. The pines were almost always proud and haughty. The willows were gentle and soft. The aspens were mysterious, speaking only in the softest of whispers. The birches were overly lighthearted, some to the point of playing practical jokes. Like that one birch, the one she called Fanyalae...
A birch branch fell in front of her feet.
Yep, that was Fanyalae.
Shadyw was caught off guard when she heard voices. Following the soft sounds, she caught a glimpse of a group of fairies all talking together. Cautiously, she approached them.
"Hello?" she said softly.

Kiowa called lightning to her palms, and held her hand aloft. The sparkling lightning was a warning, one that the dryad seemed not to heed. The forest sprite instead kept eating the small berries that Kiowa had worked hard to accumulate. "Step away!" She growled. Though not easily angered, once she was, she blew up. She was very close to blowing up. Still, the dryad kept gorging. "Do you not know who I am?" She spat. "I could kill you were you stand."
The dryad looked at her, and spat seeds in her direction. Blown over the top, Kiowa realeased the bolt of lightning in her hand. It struck the dryad in the back. She shrieked, cursed, then ran away. Kiowa had not tryied to kill her. This time.

Alysia gasped. "Nothing? How?" It could not be possible, nothing in the future. Her eyes took on a fierce fiery look. "Whatever or whoever is causing this," she growled as she made fire sprout out of her palms, "We will fight."

"fight not when you know not who you fight." said Axelle, she was haveing a wise-beyond-her-years moments

"We did not know it was your wood," said Ilsetwis courteously to Shadyw. "Please forgive us if we should not have come here." To Axelle she said, "Then we should find out who fight. Perhaps the fairy of wisdom would know, if we could succeed in seeking her out.

"Maybe the fairy of wisdom can answer those questions," speculated Ilsetwis. It was all she knew to say. "I do know that whatever happens, all that's good will endure, whether in the future or outside of Time." Being the fairy of light gave her some insight into things like these.
