Fiona was in ectasy as they walked arm in arm through the courtyard, Peter had been taken care of, she stared up at the moon, it was full and looked so beautiful against the starry night. She turned to talk to Remus, only to notice that he had stopped, he looked as if he was in pain, she placed a hand on his arm and looked into his eyes.
"Remus what's wrong?" she asked, he pushed her away, she stumbled but regained her balance and moved towards him.
"Get away!" he choked in a fear that rapidly changed to feral enmity.
She stared at him, feeling the tears rise up again, she noticed that he was bent over, his form looked more jagged, it was only when his face contorted and lengthened into a snout she filled with fear, she stumbled backwards as he faced her, within seconds he pounced.
"Moony!" she screamed, covering her face.......

Sirius looked up at the sky as he heared a wolf cry, his whole body filled with terror, he turned on his heel and ran to the entrance of the forest, he scanned the area looking for him, there, he spotted him by the lake, immediatly Sirius transformed into his dog form, he bounded forward barking and howling trying to get the wolf's attention.
He ran round the perimeter of the lake, he reached Remus and stopped and sat barking at him waiting for him to follow him.....

Lily heaved a sigh of relief. At least she wasn't bitten. But she had got badly hurt from all the branches and stones. (she could have sworn she felt a grindylaw grab at her leg at one point). Her dress was ruined, ripped and dirty. Her shoes had been lost in the lake and her hair flew around here head wildly. She could barely walk, but she carried on. She met Fiona.
"Fi..." she choked,"He...he...he's a werewolf!"

By the time he had ran the perimeter of the lake, Remus was in an unalloyed rage. The full moon was shining in full splendor. Pure, unmitigated enmity clouded his eyes as he threw his head back for another howl. The moonlight lended him strength as he tore across the grass, saliva mingled with his own blood whipping from the corners of his mouth.

He sighted the enormous black dog bounding towards him. He would feast tonight!

Snarling a challenge, Remus launched himself at Sirius in a fury. Light spilled onto the castle lawn as the Hogwarts doors burst open. Professor Dumbledore emerged, followed closely by Professor McGonagall and a host of other teachers. Dumbledore raised his wand. Red light flashed and smote Remus full in the chest.

Dani heard commotion from the grounds and looked out the window. A werewolf...a black dog....and, teachers?! Dani knitted her eyebrows and moved so close to the window that her breath fogged it. She put her hand on the window as the werewolf was stunned, and suddenly asked herself...who was it that had transformed into that werewolf?

Sirius sat heavily, staring into Moony's eyes, daring him, the wolf pounced and Sirius turned to run, for his friend to follow, but instead the castle doors flew open and a jet of red light hit Moony squarly in the chest, Sirius stopped and watched as his friend fell to the ground, eyes half open, breathing deep and heavy.
Sirius went to take a step towards Moony, but he caught dumbledore's eye, instead he retreated, barked and ran into the forest.

Fiona stood in the courtyard, she was in complete shock, she couldn't move any part of her body, she had retreated inside and into her mind, she registered the fact that Lily was there, and trying to talk to her, but Fiona's face stayed blank, her eyes distant and far away.
Her mind was swimming, so many thoughts, visions and memories crowding in at once, it was giving her a headache, she wanted to scream out, but she couldn't find her voice.
"Fi...He...he...he's a werewolf!" Lily's voice floated in, clear above all the others, she closed her eyes, but she was only faced by the image of Remus, his distorted features, his salivering mouth, his yellow eyes and teeth, the hunger and anger that filled his face, it broke her heart.......

"fi..." Lily sobbed, holdin on to her arm,"He atttacked me - but I got away...Did...did you know?" she was shivering now.

Dumbledore was striding towards him rapidly now. Before he could get his bearings, more red light flashed and his world blacked out.

"The hospital wing, Madam Pomfrey," Dumbledore said curtly. He looked into the woods, where Sirius had disappeared. His brow furrowed into a frown line. "Professor McGonagall, attend to Miss Fiona and Miss Evans."

Minerva nodded at Dumbledore, taking one glance at the stunned Remus Lupin she turned and walked over to what seemed like hysterical Lily Evans and a shell shocked Fiona Gill.
"Now Miss Evans, will you please calm down, the situation is under control" she paused to attened to Fiona, who had moved a muscle.
"Miss Gill?" Minerva said, placing her arm over Fiona's shoulder.
"Fiona, i need to know if your all right, will please sit down?" Minerva asked again.

Fiona stood still, she stiffened her body when she felt Lily's touch on her's, but the shock had frozen her, she could sill see Remus' tortured face as he changed, as he pushed her away to save her, he did, he saved her life but Lily jeopodised hers.
"He atttacked me - but I got away...Did...did you know?" once again Lily's voice floated in and over her thoughts, Fiona felt rage fill her, she wanted to turn and hit Lily, yell at her, tell her that is wasn't Remus' fault, it was the way he was; but she couldn't she was still frozen with the shock.
"Miss Gill?"
This time it was a different voice, it was fammilier, stern but still caring, it eased Fiona slightly, she felt the voice's gentle touch drape across her shoulders, and gently spoke to her again.
"Fiona, i need to know if your all right, will please sit down?"
Again the rage flew through Fiona, she wanted to throw the voice's arm off her I Ain't a bleeding cripple! a harsh voice sounded above all of them, this time it wasn't someone elses' it was her own thoughts, within moments she had pushed Lily and Professor Mcgonagal away from her.
"I Ain't a Bleeding cripple!" she screamed, she turned round to face them, rage pusating through her body, she wanted to see Remus, she wanted to tell him everything was ok, that she still loved him, and that she didn't hate him.
"I want to see him" she growled.
"I want to see Remus"

Dani sighed and turned from the window. She went downstairs to the Common Room, hoping to see them as they came in and find out what happened. But suddenly, she stopped.

<i>What are you doing?</i> she asked herself, <i>They probably won't want to talk about it! Besides, you're not normally nosy!</i> She turned to go back, but stopped again.

But what WAS going on? <i>Maybe it's something they'd want you to know, something you ought to know...</i> She rolled her eyes and went all the way downstairs.

<i>What am I doing?</i> she thought to herself. She sighed and sat down on a couch. <i>Oh, well,</i> she thought, <i>I'll just sit here and wait - see what happens.</i>

"Chocolate, m'dear?"

Remus awoke to Madam Pomfrey thrusting a thick bar of chocolate in his face. He groaned and rubbed his smooth, hairless forehead. The soft candlelight of the hospital wing propelled him into a surreal dream.

What in the bloody world....

"Chocolate, m'dear. The cure for everything." Before he could react Madam Pomfrey had stuck a piece in his mouth. He choked on it. Only at the woman's austere glance did he begin chewing. "Miss Gill and Miss Evans are fine. You needn't worry yourself. Get some rest, and..."

The rest of the words faded into oblivion as Remus's mind thudded, then froze, then reeled in shock.

The moon.

He and Fiona walking side-by-side through the courtyard.

The moon.

Pain, searing and agonizing, rippling up his back.

The moon.

"Who did I attack?" he shouted, spitting out the chocolate and sitting bolt upright. "Tell me - "

"You shouldn't - "

"WHO DID I ATTACK!"

"Miss Gill and Miss Evans," Madam Pomfrey elucidated, her face white. "And there was a dog... Albus stunned you. They're quite all right. Nothing serious. Oh, dear, you needn't - "

Sirius. Fiona. Lily. Oh, God. Oh, God.... "I'm leaving," he said aloud, climbing out of bed to a throbbing headache. He pressed his fingers to his temple and staggered to the chair where his robes lay. "I'm leaving Hogwarts," he repeated. "I need to dress. Get out."

There was a knock on the door to Professor McGonagall entered. "Miss Gill is insisting quite vehemently that she see you, Lupin."

Remus's heart pounded in his chest. He could have killed her tonight. He could have killed any of them tonight - his love, the most faithful and true friend he'd ever had, Lily.... "Tell her I'm not seeing her," he growled through clenched teeth.

Lilys head was throbbing. Did Fiona even know that she had made Remus come afterter her, just to sabe Fiona?
And now she was pushing her away, like she was a piece of dirt! It had started out the most magical evening of her life...she had kissed James...It had been a dream and it had turned into a nightmare. Why didn't Remus ever tell them?
I could have helped, she thought desperately, I've heard of a potion that could have helped...
"I could of helped..." she mumbled, her face was wet, her eyes swollen, her dress ruined and ripped.
Without saying another word she walked up the stairs to the gryffindor tower. She tripped. Lily cursed. The pain was unbearable. She had probably broken it, but she managed to get to the tower.
"Lairy Fights..." she mumbled and when she arrived in the dorm, she dropped down in her bed and went straight to sleep.

Fiona followed Professor Mcgonagal to the hospital wing, she didn't know how to react when she saw him, whether to rush into his arms or to yell at him; but one thing was for certain, she knew she didn't hate him, it just made her love him more.
"Wait here!" Mcgonagal snapped, Fiona abruptly halted as the stern teacher walked through the hospital wing door and close it behind her, immedatly she pressed her ear again the door to listen.
"Miss Gill is insisting quite vehemently that she see you, Lupin." She heared mcgonagal, Fiona smiled slightly, she could almost read Remus' reaction without looking at him; her heart dropped slightly when he replied to her though.
"Tell her I'm not seeing her," she heared him growl.
Fiona frowned and pushed open the door, comming face to face with him, for moment she stood and stared into his beautiful brown eyes.
"Remus" she whispered.

Sirius transformed back into his human form, slowly he walked back to the castle, he climbed the stairs to the tower, occasionally to stop to avoid Peeves.
Eventually he arrived at the portrait hole, said the password and entered, where he came face to face with Dani.
"Dani" he muttered, he walked over to her and hugged her, holding her close to him.

Lily awoke in he middle of the night. Her leg was paining her worse than ever, that she decided to go to Madam Pomfrey. She limped down to the hospital wing and in no time she was tucked up in a bed near the window, her leg saftely bandaged up. It was only then when she noticed Fiona and Remus, nearby. Lily was angry with Fiona...She had saved her life...But did she get any thanks at all? No.

Dani hugged him back, holding him as close to her as possible. "Hey," she said softly. "What's up?" she asked, sensing something was wrong.

Remus stared at her, unable to hide the pain that spasmed across his face. He saw the remnants of the frown still on her face. He had wronged her, wronged her terribly. How could he ever bear himself and his... mutation ever again?

His heart raced as he averted his gaze. He would die for her. He would die for any of them, gladly. If death could end it... the throbbing in his chest, the burning humiliation more painful than anything he could have ever imagined. He could not bear to look up again and see the hatred and prejudice he knew would be in her eyes.

If only he could find his wand and end it for her. For Sirius and James, who had broken Wizard law for his sake. For everyone he had ever attacked, ever endangered.... He sighted his wand on the nightstand. End it quickly. Tell her you love her. His hand shot out for it. Quickly, before you lose your resolve.

He heard Madam Pomfrey gasp, heard her cry out for Professor McGonagall who had left moments ago. "Fiona," he breathed, relishing the sound of her name. Her name - the truest word he had ever uttered. "Fiona, I love you."

He aimed the wand at his heart.

Just few moments after Lilly kissed him for the first time, James Potter has been called to the headmaster's office. He wasn't sure should he leave Lilly alone there but this really sounded important. Dumbledore wouldn't ask him to get in there for no reason. Especially not tonight. He suddenly felt that coldness is slowly creeping into every bone of his body. He was sure that this bad feeling had to everything with the thing Dumbledore wanted to tell him.

He clearly and loudly said the password and stepped infront of the doors of the headmaster's office. Instantly, Dumbledore called him in and the doors opened. He walked in slowly. He really felt that this was the last place where he currently wanted to be. He wasn't sure why he felt that way. It was no secret that he was one of Dumbledore's all time favorite students.

"James, please sit down." Dumbledore started motioning "This... A letter, just arrived. It's for you." he said and raised the plain envelope. James took few steps forward and took a seat. From here he could clearly see his name written on the envelope. There was a Ministry stamp as well. All thoughts from his head suddenly dissapeared and he reached for the envelope. He ripped it open with nervous fingers and started reading.

After first two lines, all blood which was running trough his veins, froze. Dumbledore could see that he lost all colour from his cheeks and that he didn't even seem normal anymore. He raised his head and looked into the eyes of the headmaster almost begging for an explanation. Dumbledore remained silent. He just stood up and walked over to James. He put his comforting hand on James' shoulder. Surprisingly, that wasn't helping this time. He bowed his hand and stood up. Without a word he almost ran out of the office. He couldn't speak, he couldn't say a word. This was too much.

He wasn'r sure where he was going but his legs carried him to a well known place - the Astronomy tower. He didn't even bother to close the doors behing him. That was irrelevant now. He leaned on one of the walls and took a deep breath. The letter was still in his hand.
