Nessa looked a little exasperated. "I think we all gathered that, Jimmy, maybe you could be a bit more precise?"

Alex slammed into Mark yet again, rolling them both off the nest to stand precariously on a ledge a hundred feet above jagged rocks and crashing breakers. He caught sight of a cave on a ledge five feet above them.

"Wait," he said, swiftly calculating the distance.

Mark screamed as him and Alex tumbled over the nest. He landed hard on his side and stood up clenching his broken wrist. "Ouch...my wrist! Ouch!"

He looked up above them and said, "Do you think the mommy dino will come after us again?" His voice was shaky and scared.

"More precise? More precise?! How the heck can I be more precise?!" Jimmy said, hollaring over to Nessa.

Alex made an almost comical flapping gesture at Mark to shut him up. Above them, the mother pterodactyl was circling lazily. The despairing cries of its babies drew its attention. With an enraged shriek, it dove just as Alex leaped onto the ledge.

The pterodactyl swooped, missed, regained its balance, and prepared to dive again.

"Hurry!" Alex urged, throwing out his hand to Mark.

"Well, first of all," snapped Nessa, folding her arms, "some background information might be nice. How am I supposed to know what do to to help you if the only fact I have is that a spider bit you in the...well, a spider bit you. There are millions of types of spider. Like, was it full-grown or smaller - because some types of spider aren't poisonous until they mature - and did it use pincers or a stinger, because there are few types of spider that sting, and any other observations you happen to have made." She finished off and looked at him expectantly, having made her point.

((Guess who just made all that up :D))

(Nice mate!)

"Uh...." Jimmy wrinkled his forward upwards, feeling dumb. You know, that same dumb feeling you get when your math teacher does this crazy, stupid genius solving problem that you absolutely don't get. Yeah, that feeling.

"It was a cr.ap load of a spider that was this big!" He measure his hands about ten inches apart on the ground, "And I don't know what the heck got me down there! Whether it was the stupid stinger or the dumb old pinchers all I know is that it hurt like-!" he cursed.

With the air of a sane person amidst idiots, Nessa turned to Chris. "Right then. Seeing as Jimmy doesn't seem to be able to recall much, this could be challenging." She then proceeded to give Chris some very precise instructions as to certain things he ought to look for growing in the unfamiliar forest, and ended with, "Though I really don't know how much you'll be able to find." Here she paused for a moment and then added, "And just look around for a few big leaves - I've got to do something about this ankle."

Suddenly something revolting seemed to occur to her and she added hastily, "Oh, and Jimmy, you're on your own when he gets back - instructions will be all you'll get from me, cause I don't care if three hundred spiders bit you in that precise spot, I'm not touching it." Nessa did go a little red as she imparted this information, but for the most part kept her composure.

Jimmy's eyes looked ticked off. "It's just a butt..."

Mark looked up to Alex frightened. He reached up with his good wrist and rose onto his tip toes, "I can't reach! Alex! I can't reach!" He even tried to jump and reach but he almost lost his balance which would have caused him to fall off the ledge. Mark looked up nervously at the mother pterodactyl. "ALEX! HELP!" he screamed.

Alex swore and leaned far over the ledge. "Just... a little..." His hand made a swipe for Mark's but missed.

Meanwhile, the mother pterodactyl was wheeling overhead with enraged screeches. She angled her wings and banked into another steep dive.

Whether by sheer panic or some amazing mad skills an idiot like Alex couldn't possibly have, he forcefully snagged Mark's hand, almost falling off the ledge as he did so. He pulled the ten year old up onto the ledge and, sheltering the kid once more, dove into a small cave embedded in the cliff face.

"Be that as it may," said Nessa delicately, "I'd really prefer not to have anything to do with it."
