Lucy's wet tears streamed down her face as she continued to watch the horror that was being displayed below her. How could they do this to Edward? What had he done to anyone? "Stop it! Stop it! He didn't do anything! Don't hurt him! Leave him alone!" she continued to scream and shout through agonizing sobs.
Hearing the police officer behind her, she frowned with an angry brow and allowed hatred to seep into her innocent soul.

Timothy stuttered and said, "But, Edward. We signed the papers for Edward. We're his guardians!"
The Officer chuckled which made his poorly shaven face turn red. "No buddy! You better get your crazy kid out of here before I throw you in the clink!"
Timothy glanced below and looked at the scene once more. "I just need to know that they're not going to kill him down there!"
The Officer replied, "Look man, just get the heck out. Look, look..N.A.S.A will just call you, they have a buttload of your information. Now get out!"
Timothy had no choice, he started walking away with Lucy and would wait for Katherine to follow.

Lucy followed her dad without a fight, but she left a piece of her heart behind with Edward. Holding her father's hand, she looked up at him with a saddened expression and a face full of wet tears, "Daddy, why do we have to go? Why do we have to leave Edward here?"

Katherine stared at the officer for a few short minutes and then looked down to Edward. She sighed deeply and started walking after Timothy. She stared at the ground the whole way out of N.A.S.A.

Timothy walked outside and now stood by the car, helping Lucy into her seatbelt, "Because Lucy, Edward,..." he stopped. He found himself speechless, but had to say something, "Edward needs to rest and get some sleep."
He shut the car door and got in the driver's seat where he started the car and watched the N.A.S.A building slowly disappear into the distance.

"Well, no wonder...here's the problem." A surgeon commented, with an amazed chuckle.
The man held out something round in his pale rubber glove. The round object spurted out a cloudy red mist, and it made a sharp jingle, like broken glass.
The surgeons leaned towards it to get a better look, and then they jumped back, gasping in surprise. The student's confused murmur buzzed above, and the doctor stood dumbstruck, his mouth open.
"It's a broken heart...." The surgeon said, as his hand continued to hold the heart.

Katherine stared out the window in the car, at the N.A.S.A. building. She sighed and leaned her head against the window. She bit her lower lip and then let her gaze go down to her lap, slowly.

Lucy didn't speak anymore. She never even looked back at the building behind them. Edward was a part of her everyday life and to not have him with her...devistated her. She knew something was not right...she just knew it....daddy was acting weird and mommy was always crying....something was wrong with Edward.
Feeling the bumpy road beneath the car, made Lucy sleepy. So once again, she fell asleep slowly and began to dream of Edward and her back at home playing in the backyard.
