Lee hearing the gunshot, jerked her head up and looked. Then, she heard Robert yell and a vine fell into her face. "I have it!" She yelled.

Jack wiggled around, trying to dodge Gibbs' rough blows to his face. Then with a forceful thrust, he kneed Gibbs in the groin with a determined face.

Bill continued to encourage Gibbs. "COME ON MAN! GET HIM! GET HIM GOOD! PUNCH HIM! KICK HIM! COME On--------........Uh oh....." Bill noticed that Jack had nailed Gibbs were no man ever wanted to be hit. His eyes winced as he said, "Gibbs, man....are you all right?"

Gibbs flailed and landed - hard - on his butt. His eyes were squeezed shut. Oh, and he also happened to be clutching his... uh... male reproductive organ.
A stream of rather colorful and degrading cuss words (most of which are not allowed in any form or fashion on this forum) flowed out of his mouth.

Jack jumped to his feet quickly, "HAH!"
He grinned at Mister Gibbs' pruined face of pain, before Jack Sparrow started climbing his way out of the pit again, leaving the two below to sit in their own misery.

Bill had enough of this bloody cruel captain! He needed to do something. Spotting a medium grey rock off to his left, he grabbed it and with all his might threw it up at Jack, hitting him in the back of his head with a loud thud. "Gotcha!" he said happily.

In turn, Gibbs once more produced his hook and latched it into the pit wall. Thus, the ferocious competition began.
------
Robert grabbed the other end of the vine and pulled, hoisting Lee up. Supporting her as he went, he took a step onto the narrow hemp bridge.
The natives on the other end curled their lips and advanced.
Struggling with his broken shoulder, he fumbled for his pistol.

Lee managed to pull herself the rest of the way up as Robert got his pistol. Her shoudler was in terrible condition and her ankle was a disater.

Bill laughed outloud, "Bullseye!" He then looked up to Gibbs and shouted, "How do you expect me to get out? Can ye help me?" He face was now brown with dirt that had been swirling inside the pit.

"Aye!" came Gibbs's only, quite informative response. Eyes narrowed, jaw clenched in concentration, he reworked his way back up the pit.

Robert grasped his pistol and pulled two more shots alarmingly close to the advancing enemies. The natives easily dodged both, but the threat had served its purpose. They once more melted back into the jungle, offering Robert and Lee a full path across the bridge.
