Three Years Later.
Timothy sat on his Television couch watching the latest news and reviews on last nights football game. He himself and the rest of Suburbia had pouted that Flordia's team had not won.
He had grown a bit chubby around the waiste, but no major change in him. "Hey Lucy!" he shouted to his daughter. "Can you give me a-"
His words were cut off by the sudden ring of the telephone. He groaned and reached over and picked it up to his ear.
"Hello?....Yes it is...Yes, we heard about the loss, we were told that nigh--....excuse me? WHAT THE-? ...no...yes...but...all right....yes sir....I'm coming down now!"
Timothy stood up and shouted, "Katherine! Get in the car!" he ran out of the living room and into the car out in the garage.

The only thing Lucy heard was the ring of the telephone and then the shouting of her father to her mother. Rising from her bed, with her homework laid out in front of her, she stepped outside of her room with a confused daze. Now much taller and thinner, she was beginning to look like a young teenager. Her hair was now a much darker brown, but her eyes remained the same....large, innocent and brown.
"Daddy? What's going on?" she asked looking around the empty living room. "Mom?!"

Katherine had been in the kitchen, when the telephone had started ringing. Suddenly, she heard Timothy yell out to her. She raised an eyebrow and ran into the living room, only to find that he had gone. She sighed deeply and then looked over to Lucy. "Come on, sweetheart." She said to her, took her hand and headed out to the car, quickly.

Timothy parked the car with a screeching hault.
The building hadn't changed much, only to the fact one of N.A.S.A's big bright red sign letters had gone out.
Timothy jumped out of the car with his family in which they entered the cold faded, all too familiar building.
"Excuse me!" Lucy's father said running up to the desk and waving a hand, "I'm here to see Doctor Howard!"
The round face of the nurse frowned and her eyes widened, "You mean...you want to see experiment 2921?"
"What?"
"Right this way..." she said leading the family down a white hallway.

So many terrible feelings, memories and emotions were entering Lucy's mind, from the moment they arrived at N.A.S.A. to the very present moment. She hated this place....why were they back here again? This was scary and stupid in her opinion.
Holding on to her mother's arm, she asked, "Mom, what's going on? What are we doing here?"

Katherine looked around the center and then down to Lucy. "I have no idea, dear..." She told her softly and then continued walking after Timothy. She sighed deeply and looked over the halls suspiciously.

The N.A.S.A Nurse opened a metal door off to the side of the hall.
It led into a small cold room. It was a funny grey, like faded frosting on an old wedding cake. The walls were scratched and there was only a small table and a few chairs in the middle of the tile.
"You have to stay in here...can't go anywhere else unless you're certified." said the Nurse in a nervous pipey voice.
Timothy sat down at the table and looked up. There in the upper corner of the room was an old T.V. set.
"Oh that?" the Nurse asked Timothy, "That's where you'll be allowed to see experiment 2921. You have to understand."
Her high-heeled shoes clip-clopped across the room where she turned on the television set.
The T.V. tried to clear, but all that was seen on the fuzzy screen was two figures. One standing. One laying.
"You're lucky to be here. This will go down in history." she said leaving the family alone in the room.

Lucy didn't like this at all. The smell of the room was musty and hospital like....it scared her... The fuzziness and popping stactic sound of the televison felt like an old nightmare.
Grasping onto her mother tighter, she said, "Mom, I want to go home."
Then turning her head to her father, she asked, "Daddy, can we go, please?"

Katherine sighed deeply to Lucy and then wrapped her arms around the child. She held her close to her side and then looked up to the television. She bit her lower lip and stared at it closely.

"Lucy.." Timothy started not taking his eyes of the television, "We got a call today. Edward...Edward never did die..."
He watched the television, something was happening. What they were watching was live not pre-recorded, not fake, but real.

Edward could only see a bitter black world. A freezing cold sensation went all over him, stiffening his skin.
He hadn't woken up for an eternity, or, at least, that's what it felt like.
Edward fondly remembered when his inventor told him that story about a lady who had gone to sleep and never woke up—she only woke up until a prince had kissed her. He hoped no princes would have to kiss him to solve this dilemma. He wouldn't mind if Kim kissed him again, though.
Memories didn't make him so lonely. Edward thought of Peg Boggs. She had been so kind and loving to him, almost as if he were her own son. He wasn't really sure what a mother was—Kevin had explained it to him once—but Edward felt that she came close to being his mother. Edward missed Peg, too.
He would remember and dig up memories, until he had pretty much unearthed everything and anything he had buried in his mind. Now, just when Edward was starting to adapt to the shadowy world, he was unmercifully brought out of it.
"Up and about, Edward..."
Automatically, Edward's eyelids burst open. A pure white light flooded his delicate eyes, and they felt like they'd shrivel up from the pounding light.
Edward panted and wheezed, as he was being ripped away from his safe, dark sleep.
His eyes blurred, then cleared. Blurred, clear. Blurred, clear. His head throbbed with burning pain, and he felt life surge though himself again.
"C'mon!" said someone, desperately, "C'mon. C'mon. Don't crash on me again..."

Lucy looked to her father with a confused face, "What? Daddy...what are you say---------" Her attention was then turned toward the now crystal clear television screen.
"Oh my God........." she gasped as her stomach fell, her heart leap into her throat, and she felt her legs shake. With a hand placed over her mouth, she stared at the screen as if it was something out of a dream.....it was him.........there he was...........after all these years.......her dear friend..........her only memory of her grandmother Kim..........
"He's alive?!" she screamed loudly, "But they told us he was dead! How could they lie to us? Oh my God! He's alive! Edward's alive?!"

As soon as Katherine had heard Timothy and then seen it for her own eyes, she felt a certain weight from her shoulders lifted, that had been there for years. She exhaled deeply and then felt tears reach her eyes. She had felt so guilty for doing what she had done to Edward and she knew that she would never forgive herself. She figured Edward wouldn't forgive her, either.

"Lucy be quiet!" Timothy shouted at his daughter before he glanced up at the Television again to watch what was happening.
Edward's vision split, then came together, then split again.
Doctor Howard stood next to Edward, but he looked very fuzzy, like he was made out of cotton balls. Edward blinked.
Howard grinned, insanely, and he started to laugh.
"Ah, ha!" Howard shouted, victoriously, as he punched the air, "I knew it! I knew it! Ha! Ha!"
"Wha-" Edward started but his brain gave a sharp pang when he moved his jaw.
"Ah, good. His vocal wires are working...Good, good..."
"Whe-where am I?" Edward asked, frightened.
"Can you heard me, Ed?" Howard asked, oblivious, "How're your ears? Can you see my hand go up and down? What color is my hair?"
Edward frowned.
"Look, I know you're probably lost on what's going on, but hang with me here, okay? Are your ears good, Ed?"
"Yes."
"What color is my hair, and can you see my hand go up and down?"
Edward said, quietly, "... yes."
Howard's crazy grin grew so that his white teeth almost stretched from ear to ear. The man rubbed his hands together, in anticipation.
Edward looked at the new surroundings. It was a small, bright laboratory with multicolored wires swaying to and fro from the metal shelves. A green and grey old-fashioned TV was wedged in the clutter. A mountain of shining tools was heaped on the tables, and sketches and diagrams of the human body were taped onto the concrete walls. A full-length mirror was in the corner, serving very little purpose.
The glass dome was still ther though, there were no surgeons or medical students looking down at him.
"Where am I?" Edward said, confused.
"N.A.S.A." Howard snapped, happily.
Edward looked around again, while getting more confused. "...But--?"
"To make a long story short, Edward..." Doctor Howard grumbled, "Something that was supposed to take three weeks, took three years..."

Lucy watched the t.v. with anger in her heart. How could they lie to her and her family for all these years? She just couldn't get over it. Why did the doctors keep Edward and not give him back? Did Edward suffer?
She felt a lump in her throat begin to grow, but she pushed it back. "Daddy, we need to take him home. Now!"

Katherine looked away from the television painfully and then leaned against the wall, with her eyes closed. She covered her face with her hands and silently started crying. She never thought that she would see Edward again, after the doctors had called them and told them he was gone. But, seeing him again was too much for her to bear.
