Miranda nodded and leaned off of the cart. She fell painfully onto the side of the road, but quickly got up and hid behind a bush. She signaled for Margaret and Nathan to come over, then explained the situation to them.

Meanwhile Elizabeth winced mentally when the soldiers shouted that Miranda had escaped. She looked up at Wilkins when he came over.

Miranda climbed onto the horse with Margaret. A few hours later, they pulled up to the Martin residence. Miranda climbed down from the horse, then ran to the house, calling for Gabriel and Ben.

Elizabeth glared up at Wilkins, and when her daughter was taken out of her arms, she was pulled off the cart, and pulled toward a tree. She struggled against the soldiers holding her.
