Before much longer, one of the gryffins flying overhead flew down and landed on one side of Peter.

"They come, you highness, in numbers and weapons far greater then our own." the griffin said to Peter, though Oreius interrupted any comment.

"Numbers do not win a battle." he said, and Peter shook his head.

"But I bet they help."

On the other side of the battlefield, the Witch looked towards the distance before saying, "I have no interest in prisoners. Kill them all."

Evelyn looked on as the other army began to move forward. She walked up beside Edmund, looking down and hoping Peter wouldn't turn around.

[Please don't! ]

Peter suddenly raised his sword high, then brought it down, and within a few seconds, the sky was filled with gryffins.

Evelyn looked up and saw the sky fill with gryffins - dropping rocks on the Witch's army. She watched, biting her lip.

Evelyn glanced at Edmund, then looked down for what the others would do next.

Otmin bellowed, "Look to the sky!", and archers began firing arrows at the gryffins, taking several down immediately. This fight lasted a few moments, and the gryffins then regrouped and flew off, and the charge of the Witch's army resumed.

Peter then turned and looked at Oreius.

"Are you with me?" he asked, and Oreius nodded.

"To the death." came the reply, and Peter smiled slightly, before turning and raising his sword.

"For Narnia, and for Aslan!" he shouted at the top of his voice, and his unicorn reared, before he and Oreius charged, and the other soldiers followed their example.

Evelyn watched tensely as the two armies charged toward eachother. It was strange - that one moment seemed to slow down and speed up as her imagination dictated...and all sound seemed muffled. <i>For heaven's sake, take care of yourself down there...</i> she thought.

As the armies drew closer and closer together, time seemed to slow down even more than usual, though everything was jarred as the two fronts finally ran together, the sounds of metal clashing against metal loud and clear.

When they clashed, Evelyn looked away. That was always the hardest part for her to watch - the first clash. She looked back to watch the battle.

The battle raged on hard after that, with great numbers falling on the Witch's side, though some from Peter's army also fell.

After the battle had raged for quite a while, Peter saw that it was almost surely a lost cause out on the field.

"Fall back! Draw them to the rocks!" he shouted, and the retreat began.

"That's the signal, get ready!" said Mr. Beaver to Edmund.

Evelyn looked at Felicity, who was readying her bow. (I think...lol)

Edmund raised his sword and shouted, "Fire!"
