Ev searched the shelf until she found what looked like an interesting book, and walked back, feeling her face considerably cooler. She sat down again, opening the book and deliberately not looking at him.


Ev looked at Lici, then shook his head. "I told them..."

Peter watched her for a moment, before giving up on that and looking towards the window.

"Too late to worry about it now.." Felicity said quietly, voice faltering at the end of that statement.

"Well, that doesn't make it any better," he said grumpily, not looking at her. "You're the last person I wanted to be sick."

Felicity looked down quickly as her face flushed even more, and not from mere fever this time..Good thing I can blame it on the fever.. she thought, annoyed with herself.

Ev finally put down the book, having read about 30 pages. "So..." she said, searching for something to talk about. She ended up just chuckling silently.

Peter glanced at her. "Apparently we've run out of things to talk about.."

Ev smiled softly, then said, "Sorry - I know I've been acting weird this morning."

Ed glanced over at Lici. "You should take some of those fever herbs," he said.

"It's alright." Peter said, shrugging slightly.

"If I do that, I'm gonna end up falling asleep.." she said quietly.

Ed shrugged. "Go ahead...I might join you in the activity.." he said, laughing.


The sides of Ev's mouth curled up for a moment into a smile, but she found her eyes lingering on him for too long and looked away. <i>Why am I being so obvious now?!</i> she asked herself forcefully.

Felicity nodded a little, then stood up and got some of the herbs from the bedside table. She then sat back down beside the bed and took the herbs, and after getting them down, closed her eyes.

Peter noticed, though refrained from commenting. I might end up saying the wrong thing anyway.. he thought wryly, before shaking his head.

Ed leaned his head back on his pillow. <i>Well,</i> he thought, <i>At least she might get better now</i>...

A hundred mild swearwords per minute were passing through Ev's mind. He had SEEN her! How COULD she have been so DUMB? Ugh. No use. She avoided eye contact as much as possible as she reached for the cloth again and asked, "Is your forehead hot?"

If I'm caught like this by one of the others, I'll never live this down.. Felicity berated herself, rethinking what she was doing. I need to stay awake anyway.. she thought, starting to open her eyes, but as she did, her head began throbbing dully.

"Not anymore, no." Peter replied after a moment.

"Don't try to stay awake," said Edmund, eyes still closed. "It'll only make it worse."

Ev looked at him, smiled, and said, "Good," before putting the cloth down.

"So I just noticed.." Felicity muttered, though it came out as a whisper, and next thing she knew, her eyes had drifted shut again.

Peter smiled a little. "I'm feeling much better than I did yesterday..though I'm about to go crazy having to stay in this room.."
