Paloc took a deep breath and stepped after Arruina, both pistols held at the ready. The forest was quiet, hushed. Even the birds were silent. "Maybe the hunters took care of them all." He said in a whisper.

"There's only one way to find out," Arruina said, and started slowly back through the thicket, keep as quiet as possible...

Arwyn smiled at Aaron. "I am Arwyn daughter of Algren and Valianna. And these are my faithful companions-Vehiron and Thalion she added as she nodded to each one respectively. Her smile faded then and her aqua eyes grew troubled with the news she was about to relate. “I was searching the ruins of Halos to see if it would yield any clues to the movement of the dark armies. It was there where we were attacked by a lone demon. The creature is now dead, yet unfortunately his company was near and pursued us to these woods. My best guess is that they now linger in the shadows of the trees, waiting for a chance to get their revenge.” She sighed heavily. “For this additional trouble that I may have brought upon you-I am sorry.” she said knowing that it was she who brought this group of darkness into the woods.

Paloc hesitated, then followed Arruina. Why did he have to be so noble all of the sudden? He could sneak away right now, and not have to face any demons. Still, he felt drawn to these people somehow, as if they needed each other...

He shrugged off the feeling. <i>Don't be such a sap.</i> he told himself, then walked out of the thicket after the woman.

Aaron nodded gravely, and walked over to a tree and put his hand on it. Closing his eyes, he whispered something. His magic flowed into the tree for a moment, and then he turned back to Arwyn.
"You're right, they are near, but not here yet. I don't know theses woods well enough to flee through them. Are you wounded from your last battle? Can you fight?" he asked, his eyes full of worry...

Arwyn nodded. "I'm fine, though I thank you for your concern." she said with a slight smile. "Although, I probably got out unscathed due to them," she added as she gestured at the two animals with her. "The demon who attacked used a fire sword as a weapon-what other abilities his companions have I do not know. But if they are not here yet, at least that gives us time to prepare for them." she stated quietly.

Vertha followed the woman and the man. She kept her pistol out just in case. She looked around closely for any sign of the outworlders.

Arruina stopped behind a tree, and turned to look what happened. She gasped at the sight. There, on the trail, lay bodies of both demons and hunters. Only, the demons had won, and they were plundering the dead. A single tear fell down Arruina's face, for all the hunters that lay dead were close friends. Then sadness and replaced by anger, and her eyes became cold. Arruina glaned at the others, making sure they were ready to fight. With a nod, and turned and shot her arrow that had already been knocked in her bow. It went through the head of the nearest demon. This alerted the others, and the fight began.

Arruina pulled another arrow from her quiver, and then another. It took a few arrows to take out one demon...

Aaron nodded.
"If one uses fire, I'm sure the rest of his companions are the same. But, we shall see," he said, going back to lean on Saradh, who licked his hand. Aaron patted her head, "and, I too don't know what would happen if I hadn't had Saradh as my companion."

Sorren pulled Nezary back into a walk as she came upon two people along the forest rode. So far she hadn't met more then a couple of people in the forest, and they had been demons. These were humans yet Sorren still felt wary of strangers. She knew better then to blindly trust people.. well for the most part. There was that one time..... Anyway, back to the problem at hand. Should I just ride past them or say something? She looked at the animals around the two, a wolf, a falcon, and a tiger, and decided that riding past would be best. Sorren knew she wouldn't come out well if something started.

Vertha saw the dead hunters and noticed the anger and grief in Arruina's eyes. She must have been close to them. All the while, she felt wretched. She was the one who broke into the demon lord's tower, alerting every demon and outworlder in a five mile radius to her. She was the one who ran into her, causing her to help her find safety. She then saw Arruina fight back. Ruthlessly. She had never seen anyone fight in such fury and she spent a great deal of her life with vampires. Resolved to fix what she had caused, she pulled out her pistol and fired. The demon she aimed at took the bullet into the head but remained standing. Frustrated, she fired again and again. After the third bullet struck, it finally died. She proceeded to shoot down the demons as they came. Then the ominous clicking of an empty barrel rang from her gun just as she pulled the trigger on a demon.

They looked at each other for a minute before the demon lunged for her but she was quicker than that. She flipped the pistol and bashed the demon's skull several times with it. As the demon fell down, she thrust the pistol into her belt and took out two daggers. Grinning, she strengthened her grip on them as the demons approached her.

I was cured all right.

"Fye," Iris panted as she fell down onto the ground, "I really really really think that we need to go back. We can't survive out here on our own."

Fisco did not hear, nor care, what his sister was saying. They were both out of that wretched orphange (which, to note, was really not that bad), and he wasn't going back anytime soon to again be called an orphan. It wasn't either his or his sister's fault that their parent's died, so, in Fisco's mind, they both should not be taking the heat of the situation.

"Fye," Iris continued to whine once she saw that Fisco did not hear what she first said, "We need to go back. You and I both don't have an idea what is out there."

"Don't be such a baby," Fisco shouted back and continued to linger into the forest.

Offended, Iris popped up off of the ground and ran after Fisco, defeding herself, "Me? A baby? Well, at least I have something called a brain and can understand what us halflings can and cannot do unlike your little underdog I will rule the world attitude. Just look what it has gotten us into. We have no clue where we are, what we are doing here, and I haven't eaten since eight o'clock this morning." Iris paused for a moment and soon ended her rant with a mellow, "Thanks a lot."

"You're welcome," Fisco answered, again not hearing a word that Iris said. Fisco, in all, was concentrating on a new sound to his ears. "I think that I hear something."

"If you are talking about the marching, it would be a smart idea to run the other way."

"Yeah, I am talking about the marching," Fisco smiled back at Iris, "Let's go check it out." With that, Fisco ran off towards the sound.

"Ugh...." Iris grunted and looked up towards the sky, "Why couldn't I have gotten a sister?" She, then, gave a deep sigh and ran after Fisco knowing that the only thing worse than being with her brother was not being with her brother.

"Demons." Sakura said to herself as she and her companion came to the forest.

"Demons?" Asked Aden wondering why she had stated that all of the sudden but before she could respond to him, they both heard the cries of demons in the distance.

"There are humans as well." Sakura said as she turned toward the direction that they had heard the cries coming from. Needing no more motivation, Aden moved toward the sounds as Sakura followed and found that the demons had slaughtered the humans that she had spoken of. Aden looked behind his back to ask Sakura whether or not they should attack them but she was not behind him as he thought she was.

"Sakura?"

As he whispered her name a mountain lion bounded by him and began to attack the demons. At that moment more humans came to the clearing and attacked them as well. Aden took his long blade from his back and joined in the fray.

Arruina soon ran out of arrows. The group of demons was very large, indeed. The huntress shoved her bow into her quiver, and pulled out her longsword, it's hilt graced with silver roses. The demons were now too close for long range weapons.

Arruina stabbed and cut, putting all the furry built up in years past into her moves. Rarely she had this chance. Her usual style of fighting was through ambush and secrecy and shooting from the trees.

Then, unexpectedly a mountain lion and an angle sprung from the woods, helping to fight the demons. The heavy slaying awoke a feeling of hunger in her heart that she had rarely felt. Blood lust. But it took much to get through the rough skin and strong armor of the demons...

Aaron glanced up as a rider went by. He watched Sorren with one eye, and the road behind Arwyn with the other. Soon Saradh's hair pricked up, and she started growling. Aaron walked back over to the tree, and put his hand on it a moment, then pulled it away as if stung.
"They're here," he whispered...

Iris was holding back tears. It was at these sorts of times that she could not stand her brother, and she had every reason to think this way. Her borther wasn't listening to her, caring to listen to her, and now he was dragging both of them into a potentionally deadly situation.

"Woah.." Fisco's mouth opened wide in awe as he stared at the army of demons being attacked. "This is so cool, Iris, you need to look."

"I am perfectly fine not looking."

"Ahh..come on. You're going to miss it," Fisco coaxed her in.

"No," Iris objected, "I don't care. I don't care about anything you are doing and I won't be apart of any more of your stupid adventures."

Iris stomped her foot and turned around, running away from Fisco until she ran right on past Aaron with her hands covering her face and tears flowing from her eyes.

Aaron was caught by suprise when a little girl dashed by him. The thing was, she was headed straight for the direction in which the demons were coming. He may have been a "dark wizard" but he wasn't dark hearted. Instinctivly he grabbed the hobbit by the arm, stopping her, then realized she was crying.
"Hold on there," he said, and kneeled down to her height, still keeping on eye on the road. "What's wrong?"
