Artorius scowled as he bandadged a man. Levi was making no attempt to help the other soldiers. Straightening up. he laid a hand on Ben-Aharon's shoulder a little too roughly "Help these men. That's an order" he growled, kneeling beside a man who's chest had been split open. Pink froth bubbled from his mouth, thanks to a destroyed lung. Artorius' sword flashed one. Just once.

"Why am I to take orders from you?" Levi responded in a cold voice and he immediately knew that he had been out of line. "Because you have the power to threaten me? Hurt me? Kill me? Probably."
Again anger overwhelmed him like a disease inside his body and his eyes refelcted it as he stared at Artorius.

Artorius scowled, wiping his sword on the grass and turning, straightening up "You wil obey me, Jew, because I am a Roman Centurion, and you are a Judean Auvilia. I have authority by rank." he growled, sheathing his sword "I don't take life unless nessecary, or if the one whom I kill is better off with the Gods" he said, gesturing to the dead soldier.

"Lo te-vo’-shi ve-lo’ ti-kal-mi’, Mah tish-to-cha -chi’..Elokei azru li!" Levi spoke these words to relief himself, to calm himself down, yet it was difficult. He wanted to cry out his thoughts and objections which he for long had restrained. One way or the other he dared to speak to this Roman who was so different from the others yet in another way so similar.
"By rank?" Levi smirked in response. "I consider myself rank-less for I never signed up for this job.."

"Rank matters nothin in a battle" Artorius shouted "When the Celts are upon you, ready to kill, they don't care if you're enlisted. They'll kill you simply because you march with us. If you flee, they'll capture you and burn you alive as a sacrifice to thier gods! You follow orders and survive, or disobey and be killed by the Celts. I have no use for a turncoat soldier!" the Centurion bellowed

[ it took me some time to look it up but if everything is correct it means: "not will you be ashamed nor will you be humiliated or cast down" [part of prayer] and then "God help me" ]

"Your battle" Levi repeated. "No harm has been done to me by these people. Nor did they destroy my home or invade my country." He spitted on the ground. "This is a war to serve greed and the treasury of Rome."

That's it he thought by himself and he realised that he crossed the line. If he wanted to live somehwat longer he had to shut his mouth. So he cast his gaze down and bit his lip, awaiting the rage of the Centurion. Yet he knew that all he could do was obey.

Artorius drew his sword, and swung. It embedded itself in the gromd b ythe Centurion's feet. "No" he spat "THIS IS A REBELLION" he shouted "This is our doing! If you want politics, go to Rome! These men have tried to kill you, Ben-Aharon. They will do so again!" he gripped his sword hilt, fighting the urge to strike the man down. The evening sun reflected from his helm. "Erect camp!" he called to his men. Then, turning back to Levi, he pulled up his tunic to reveal a blue tribal tattoo on his shoulder, with his eyes flashing "I am fighting my kin, Levi. Because I swore an oath of loyalty when I joined this army. I fight this war because an enraged mother has led her people against her daughter's rapists, and thier comrades in arms. The Celts will kill us both without a second thought. This island is not safe for either of us. You want to live? Fight. They will not show you mercy because you are a conscript or slave from Judea!" he finished, spitting at Levi's feet and pulling his sword from the ground.

Levi continued to fix his gaze at the ground. If he would not he was sure that he would loose his temper, which would probably lead to the ruin of himself. The words of Artorius sounded alien to him like he couldn't grasp them. But it was just a quarrel between two men with different visions, two men of different worlds.
When Artorius showed his tattoo's Levi's eyes quickly flashed up but then he averted his gaze again. This explained alot, why the Centurion acted dfifferent. But to Levi it was all the same: the Centurion had taught him his place and had succeeded too.
With a small nod Levi turned and walked away from Artorius. He started to drag the dead bodies out of sight and close to eachother. Since there was no shovel, they probably couldn't be burried but had to be burned though the Centurion was the man to decide that.

((I just can't relate to either of these people, can I?)) Artorius removes his helmet and left to help the troops with erecting tents, scowling at Levi. He pulled a canvas from a pack, and started to erect his tent, looking over to Marcus "You were right" he called.

Marcus had been taking care of a wounded man who'd been hit by an arrow in the shoulder. The arrow had to be pulled out, nice and quick or else the arrowhead would break off. There were probably scraps left but this wound could be tended. Marcus looked up at Artorius as he passed by.
"I know" he spoke without any criticism in his voice. "You should do something about it."

Artorius scowled, helping a wounded man to his feet "Like what? I can't kill him, I can't have him excommunicated, tortured, punished, beaten, or crucified, for that matter. What would you suggeset?"

(finally I can post! So sorry for the delay!)

Titus had fought as well as his training had taught him. Which was well enough to get through the battle with a few bodies on his feet, and naught but a bruise on his body.

He nodded when Marcus told him they needed Agenthree's horse. He helped a wounded man, who had a gash on his head. He found cloth from a dead body to make a bandage to stop the bleeding. The wound wasn't deep, and would heal quickly.

"THIS IS A REBELLION," he heard the words from the Centurion. He glanced up to see him pull up his shirt and reveal the tattoo. So he was celt? That was why Agenthree.... Titus was pulled out of thought by another wounded man. He had an arrow to the chest, and had somehow managed to live... barely. With a sigh, and a flash of sword, the poor man was taken out of his suffering quickly. Looking around, there didn't seem to be any other Roman wounded that hadn't been tended to yet, but Celtic bodies littered the road in heaps...
