Hey, guys. first time being able to get on. I'm in Cascade Locks, Oregon. We're going to be roasting marshmallows soon, so I better be quick with this visit. This will probably be the only time I can get on.... So I hope if you start the rp, you'll go slow enough I can catch on pretty quick. Bye!

Edit: Freaking heck. Didn't expect my writing to carry on that long... :hide: :whistle:
Halloo, Las! :)

Alright, guys. I'm gonna kick start us, otherwise I'm never gonna do it. :P So, here we are. Your mission, should you choseen to accept it, is to save the galaxies from the bad guys! Ahahahaha, yes... *cough* Back on-topic...

Those who haven't either done your bio's or haven't posted them yet don't worry, we're not gonna leave you behind. Just post when you're ready then jump in! :) Same for those that are at the momento MIA. :P

So; one line/ posting to a minimum please. Usual rules apply, no god-modding etc. Any contributions to the plot are most welcome, by post or PM. If theres anything better than plotting, its mass plotting. [insert evil laugh]. ;) :)
My apologies for not starting this for AGES, also I apologise for my writing not being tip-top and amazingly awesome, my heads kinda hurting but I'm eager to get this thing going. :) :P I'm way unstopabubble now.
------------------------------------------------------------------------>So lets begin.

Footsteps. The noise of a door sliding open almost noiselessly. Continued footfalls, then silence. Small chinking noises, of glass against glass, then another pause for thought. A small child's laugh, quiet and muffled in the dark room. The light came on.
Carrie raised an eyebrow at Iris and smiled. "Busted."
Iris was stood frozen, a small empty glass vial in her hand. She'd hoped she'd have been able to have a look around before anyone found her. Maybe that had been a little too optomistic.
"I, well..."
"Yes, you'd better think of a really good explaination. The professor won't want to hear you've been sneak-"
"I wasn't!" came the interrupting protest. "I was just looking around."
Carrie laughed softly. "Come on. Out of here."
Iris gave a small grunt of indignance, but obeyed. From her position at the door, Carrie surveyed the interior of the lab - the walls, wth the odd wires stucking out of the at strange angles; the crowded work surfaces, laden with many a piece of paperwork, several different controls for the holographic screens and computer systems set up for different purposes, and a small newspaper cutting. Carrie frowned at the small bit of paper, her vision brushing against the words of the subheading - 'Paranoid professor'. She shook her head gently. She'd never seen Earth, except in the pictures several of the scientists had taken. She'd not seen many; few people had been willing to remember what had happened; fewer still willing to talk about it. As Iris took her hand and pulled slightly at it, she was drawn away from her thoughts, quite harshly, it seemed to her. Iris seemed to be the onyl one that spoke freely around her; many seemed to be careful of what they said when the spoke. Carrie felt uneasy, and out of place. Iris was after all a child, whereas Carrie was taken to be much older. The physical body Carrie made use of had no senseof self: she wasn't quite human in that respect. Carrie's thougths were processed in her human mind, but they really lay with her being: in Survival's computer. She couldn't tell what her true nature was... was she human or machine? She could feel Iris's warm hand, the tug of the artificial gravity system, and the fringe of her blonde hair. But equally, she could feel the buzz of Survival. The could feel the electircal pulses that ran through the wires; see the command codes, and access nearly everything there was on file.
She seemed to live a double life.
Iris stared. Carrie seemed to be in her own little world, paying no attention to her whatsoever. She rocked backwards and forwards on her feet, lips pursed, frowning a child's frown. After a minute of impatiently waiting, she gave up. "Hey, Carrie. Are you awake?" Iris laughed as Carrie jumped slightly. Carrie wasn't like the other adults. She was just different. No-one had told her why, and she didn't really care for now. It was a difference she quite liked, a quiet warth that spoke for itself. Iris was too young to be able to put this difference into words anyone would understand, so she didn't try. There weren't many people that she spoke to here, either, no-one seemed to want to talk of anything relating to what they had considered 'home'. She couldn't remember much of her parents. She'd spent most of her time with her father, when he was working as a scientist in England.
She'd been fasinated by his work, but didn't trust herself enough to have a go herself. In any case, she wasn't allowed near any chemicals, lest the worst should happen. She watched her father mix, weigh, dry and heat a variety of chemicals, observe radical colour changes with wide eyed pleasure.
She could remember her mother letting her listen to her own heartbeat, something that had startled her. She'd listened to the steady rhythm for a few minutes, siling to herself slightly. Everything was new. And then it wasn't there anymore.
Carrie had led her into her room, where she should've been in the first place.Iris sighed and resigned herself to watching Rona from her porthole style window, until Carrie got out a small computer chip-like piece of metal. It fit into the console next to the door perfectly, melding with the glass, seemingly flawlessly. Carrie mentally darkened the lights, the the hologram flickered into life. Iris loved the stars. A miniature map of the galaxy spun around her room, stars glittering away unconcernedly. Iris reaches out a curious finger to the nearest star. The view zoomed in, to show a solar system with twin suns.
Carrie smiled as she watched the look of facination on the child's face. She was seemingly oblivious to what had happened. She knew, of course. Everything had been explained - she just didn't understand how everything couldn've disappeared. Keeping her mind occupied was a good way of not thinking about complicated 'grow-up problems', as she'd said.
Carrie layed a hand on the door control. It slid softly shut, and she moved away, safe in the knowledge that Iris wouldn't be seen until she'd explored every known inch of the galaxy. She was attentive, despite her age. And quite amazingly curious, even for a child.

Carrie moved into the lift. She still hadn't gotten used to using stairs and lifts; they weren't quite the norm for her. After a while walking, speaking to a few survivors abour Iris, she headed toward the main lab. She knew he wouldn't have moved; for no matter what she said he stubbornness didn't cease.
Professor Jacob Staleigh of England, Earth. That was his title. He hated the way it sounded,the way the words made it seem as though he were 'superior'. He wasn't, he was just like everyone else. Just another survivor...
And now his head hurt. He'd never really had to worry about shielding systems before; and now he did he didn't like them.
"I thought you'd be here. I distinctly recall telling you that you'd be better off stopping."
He looked around. Carrie was leaning in the doorway, half-smiling at him. He rolled his eyes at her, and turned around again. "This needs finishing."
"Yes, but a few hours won't change it for the better or worse. It'll help your head, though."
Jacob looked at her. She walked over and placed a small bottle of sleeping pills on the table in front of him, then sat down on the chair nearest her. "You've not slept for over 36 hours. You need rest."
He sighed, "I'm not going to win this am I?"
"No, you aren't. I'll stay here."
He chuckled softly. "Thankyou, Carrie." He rested a hand on her shoulder for a moment as her stood up, then took the quiet route to his sleeping quaters. He needed sleep, but he knew no matter how hard her tried he wouldn't be able to shut his eyes for longer than an hour. He needed to be there, he needed to fix the shielding...

The stars shone through his window at him, glittering, hiding mysteries he could never hope to understand. For now, laying in the darkness, he was peaceful. And that was all that mattered.

OOC: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO RP STARTAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok i can't even remember who i am in this lol

IC: Sasha wandered the corridors of the huge spaceship. "Carrie? Professor?" She called repeatedly. For a few days now an idea had been formng in her head. If it could work; it was highly dangerouse to her brian but totally worth it. She just needed to find out if it was possible and if they would agree to do it.

She didn't really like Carrie and her artifical intelligance or whatever she was; but if thats what it would take in order for her plan to succed she would do it.
With a wild look in her eyes, pen tucked behind her ear, ink stains on her hands and sheet music falling out of her pockets she looked slightly deranged. In between her calls she hummed tunes from Earth. To preserve the music of earth had become her reason for liveing.
Sasha was a dysleix who had devloped an amzeing memory in order to learn all her music. Of course this didn't stop her from being incaperbel of knowing left from right, spelling, speaking long words and haveing anything to do with numbers. This meant that every peice of music she had heard or read she held in her memory.
Her perpose as far as she could now tell was to reconstruct all this music. She was not therefore that popular with the other humans who just wanted to forget.
However people had never been that important to her compared with the music so she carried on regardless.
"Professor? Hello? Carrie???" she called impatiently

OOC: *cheers* I try to do starting post.

IC:
Lizzy walked around the human settlement on Rona, keeping her head down and sticking to the outskirts. She sighed and looked up at the sky, the stars shining brightly down, twinkling in the cold night. Lizzy shivered and began to walk again, keeping a fast pace, trying to keep warm. Stopping again as she got closer to the other suriviors, most of them sitting round a large fire, she found her gaze wandering again to the stars. She brought her hand up to her face and subconciously started to bite her already short nails as she frowned, and tried to spot any patterns, any constellations that she knew. A women walked past and nudged her arm, bringing Lizzy abruptly out of her train of thought. She scowled, recognizing the women as her mother and walked away, joining the others at the fire, listening into their conversations, but not saying a word, not even making eye contact, just gazing up at the stars.

OOC: My trip took slightly longer than anticipated, but I'm back to a place with internet now. I'll post for the bio I have up and get the other one sometime this weekend.

IC: Kayne jogged through the corridors of the station, with bleary eyes and unkempt hair telling most that he had just woken up. To tell the truth,he had fallen asleep while working on one of the many matinance jobs that needed doing. The fact that he had not slept for nearly 72 hours might have been why, just maybe. Or the fact that he had put so much caffine into his body over the past three days that it no longer had any effect on him, so the tons of coffee that was now just making him feel full and sleepy. Or both.

Whatever the reason was, Kayne now was jogging through corridors filled with people in a semi-sleeping state, which he knew was bound to catch up to him some time. And that was when he ran smack bang into Sasha, bowling her to the floor and sending the matinance reports in his hands all over. Now I'm awake, he thought, reaching down to help the woman to her feet.

That had to have hurt like heck; he'd been leading with his left shoulder when he had hit her, and from personal experience, he knew that when metal impacts flesh, flesh looses. In fact, his entire left side was cybernetic, including the organs on that side of his body. It gave him great advantages in fights, but it made swimming one heck of a chore.

{I know I'm late and all, but I do love Sci-Fi...could I enter as a kind of alien that I made up for a story I'm writing, or should I stick to humans/Ronalians?}

{Yay! Thank you!

Name; Dilaia Kanshynne

Age; 16

Gender; Female

Character; Dilaia is shy, not exactly one to approach others, but she is intelligent. Quiet and soft-spoken, she is more of a listener than a speaker. She doesn't like violence, but if she needs to, she will fight and speak up for what she believes in.
Appearance; Dilaia is a Rikkan--a nocturnal humanoid species. She has pale skin, thick white hair, and feline-like light blue eyes. Her sense of sight is not very good, less than humans, and if she spends too much time in bright light, her eyes start to water and sting really bad. However, her senses of hearing and smell are more acute than a human's.

Original Homeworld; Yrikka

Details of Homeworld; Yrikka is a cold planet, the fourth in it's double star system. It has two moons. Most of the terrain is mountainous tundra, but at it's equator--where most of the population lives--there are coniferous forrests. In summer, there are around 14 hours of daylight, slipping to 10 in spring and autumn, and in winter there are only 6 hours of daylight.

Misc; Dilaia's parents died when she was young, and her older brother became leader of the tribe. They were one of the more influential tribes on the planet. Her older brother had to go to Rona in hopes of discussing trade and politics with one of their leaders, and he didn't trust Dilaia to stay back home by herself, and she wanted to see other worlds, so she tagged along.

Oh, and this would be her first time seeing a human.}

Ooc; You're welcome! :D Glad to have another person on teh team. :cool:

IC;
Carrie heard her name. She stood up, frowning. "Hello?" Nothing happened, except a dull thud, a crash and the sound of paper taking flight. She moved to the door and picked up the piece of paper that had landed by her foot. Maintence reports. Looking around, she saw Sasha, a girl she knew only by face and name. Carrie knew she preferred her music to people; which was uncommon in humans, but not a bad feature of her personality. Carrie knew little of her, and wasn't one in any haste to judge.

Sasha was sprawled on the floor, amidst an awful lot more papers than usual. Carrie assumed they belonged to Kayne, the engineer who was standing near her with a hand outstretched towards Sasha.

Taking care not to step on any of of the scattered papers, Carrie moved towards the two. "Am I needed?" ahe asked, leaving the question hanging. She looked down at Sasha, examining her expression to see if she was in pain. After a minute she turned her questioning look to Kayne, waiting for her answer.

{{OOC//I guess I'll pick up where Ennostiel is. ^^ }}

Finally, it was dark. Dilaia sighed, appreciating the chill of nighttime. She was wearing loose, lightweight clothing, and had stayed inside all day, but Rona's climate was still agonizing to her. Now, her first night on a foreign planet, the young Rikkan was determined to explore.

Her eyes were well adjusted to the night, and she was glad that she could see--she had been practically blind all day long. It was a clear night, and she could see the stars perfectly. Those distant specks of light weren't strong enough to harm her; Dilaia had always enjoyed looking at them.

She could hear voices. Curiousity taking the best of her, she looked out from behind a corner of a building.

Humans! Dilaia had never seen so many this close-up before. They were about fifty feet away from her, their forms sillhouetted against a fire. Wide-eyed, the Rikkan gazed at them in silence. She stared at them straight for around ten minutes before the light began to hurt her eyes. She ducked back into the shadows, knocking a trash can down in the process. It clanged loudly, and Dilaia cringed, not wanting to bring attention to herself.

((*back from vacation*))

Corian watched the humans clustered around the fire from the shadows. Her white eyes flickered from person to person. Questions filled her mind. What is their world like? Do they think like we do? Will they stay here? She shivered and pulled her cloak tighter around her. She stepped closer to the fire, the light flickering on her face. She saw a flash of movement. A person in front of her, also in the shadows, knocked over a trash can as she swiftly turned around. Corian caught the person as she ran into her, keeping them from falling over.

As she turned around, she noticed the other person there. She caught Dilaia, and the startled Rikkan stepped back and pressed herself against the wall. She stood there, breathing heavily, until she settled down.

The other person was older than her, with pale skin, black hair, and white eyes. Dilaia studied her for a while, then mustered the courage to speak up.

"Uh, hi," she whispered.

"Hi." Corian said, a smile lighted up her face. She shivered again and glanced at the fire. She looked back at the Rikkan, "I'm Corian." she said. It wasn't everyday she got to see so many humans close up, and now a Rikkan. She looked her over, she closely resembled them, the Ronians. She looked back up at her, and waited for her to answer.

The Rikkan smiled. "My name's Dilaia," she said. She relaxed, no longer pressing herself against the wall. Light blue eyes full of curiousity, she studied Corian more. Dilaia hadn't seen either a human or a Ronian up close before, and she couldn't quite tell them apart.
"Are you human?" she asked Corian after a short pause.

Corian's smile broadened. "Sorry to disappoint you, but no. I'm Ronian." she looked at the humans, then back to Dilaia. "You can tell the difference by mainly our skin. We're very pale, and they get darker skin when they're in the sun." she gazed out to the dark desert surrounding the small city they were in. She knew she better get to her home soon. She couldn't go if it got any colder, which it would.
