(of course, Amoniel! I reserved your spot for you 'cause I thought you would!
@ Will: I forgot to ask, do you want the Plains egg or the Dark egg? DR gets the one you don't choose, and knowing him, he really wouldn't care which one he got.)
"Well, what I do know will happen when we finnish the quest is we will get to go home or back to our lives or both, only with the great reward promised. Unless you have something better to do that is," Rena said, getting a little annoyed. It wasn't her fault some questions couldn't be answered properly.
"At this point, I just want to see this done."
For Crymson, she heard Granit's voice in her head.
For Crymson, Rena repeated then said out loud. "I -as well as the others here before you- have already stared death in the eyes. And as fate would have it, there is always a way to continue. If you don't want to join us, go back to where you came from. I'm sure there are plenty of others willing to take your place." They were brave words that almost seemed out of character for the young redhead. But at that moment faces of her fallen companions flashed through her mind, flooding her with feelings unfamiliar and unidentifiable to Rena.
"I just want it to end," the whisper was barely audible, as she glanced down at the dirt under her boots before lifting her head and looking each of the new chosen before her. "So will you continue the quest or not?" She spoke, her gaze stopping on Dylan who almost looked skeptical to her...

Lissa nodded, "I choose to continue. Whatever challenges we meet on our journey, I welcome." Ryka sang her agreement, before saying to Lissa, You sure you want to do this Vasilisa? Of course... The girl replied with a smile, Anything to help...

"Life's a joke, friend," Katyln retorted to Dylan. "One of the most cruel ones in the world." She turned to Rena and said, "And you shalt not worry about me and Eugenia. We haven't gotten anything better to do so we'll be glad to tag along." She added as an afterthought, "Right, Eugenia?" The beast merely snorted.

"I think you misunderstood me. I think it's perfectly stupid to risk your life for no purpose. But I think you need some people with brains here, so toss me that damned egg.." Dylan shook his head and sat down. Eyeing all the Chosen Ones judgingly he thought that some of them really looked messed up.
His lips curled in a smile as he heard Katlyn's but he said no more. He hoped that this was not going to be a complete waste of time.

Ayvein attempted to hold her tongue as she had throughout the whole questioning process, but she finally failed as Dylan finished talking.
"No purpose? You should consider yourself lucky to be chosen for this deed, although by your actions so far, I do not see what honor can be found through you to deserve it! Learn to hold your tongue, boy, and treat these eggs with respect, before I make you!" Ayvein's glare was enough to make anyone's blood freeze, and she owned her demon father for that one. Dyvain growled low and after a few more seconds, Ayvein broke her glare from Dylan and walked over to Dyvain, putting her small hand on his enormous scales as she waited for an reaction from the boy.

Lissa's eyes blazed as Dylan's judging eyes settled on her and Ryka. The Pheonix's beak settled on the girl's shoulder, Behave yourself Girl.
Lissa's eyes looked down as she stroked the beak of her ride, shivering at Ayvein's glare, even though it wasn't directed at her.

Meegan cringed and stepped back toward Quebedeaux, seeking some form of familiarity and protection, as those around her started squabbling, the dark green freckles on her nose obscured by the action. She felt like she had been tossed into a pack of wolves scrambling for food. Those about seemed intent on asserting themselves in some way and she just wanted to be invisible...
Quebedeaux rolled his eyes - he did that a lot around the child. The dragon was somewhat embarrassed that he had chosen a child that was too shy to even be noticed when presented. By gods! If dragons were to choose those that would be close to their soul then his own instincts must be sadly mistaken. Laid back he may be, but meek he was not. He gave a small snarl of unhappiness and notice as Meegan flinched and moved forward away from him and immediately regretted the action.
The nymph sighed uncomfortably, no longer feeling safe with Queb. Stuck between a rock and a hard place the girl decided the only safe decision was the middle in no man's land.
"Well, I am with you," she said in half-convinced voice, not that she was not sure that she would assist, but she was not so sure if voicing her allegiance would be at all welcome right now. She certainly did not want to be on the receiving end of a harsh comment.

Dylan sniggered as he found it comical that the girl who seemed barely older than 20 winters, addressed him with "boy". "Ooh, I am very afraid now.." he spoke softly, not averting his dark eyes from Ayvein until she looked away. It did strike him that most of the "Chosen ones" or whatever they called themselves were merely childeren. That made him again wonder whether they had not been deceived in the first place and put up with this ridiculous quest.
He shrugged his own thought away as he wanted to retire for the night. He lay down where his Hippogryph had settled contendly, using his cloak as a blanket and stared up to the sky, where the stars were veiled by the clouds.

Katyln ignored most of the bickering, mostly because she didn't trust herself to say something that might be helpful. Demon tongues are quite vicious. As the fight quieted and people began to retire, she snuck to where Dylan, the most interesting of the lot, was lying and sat next to him, her arms holdings her legs close to her. She suspected the human host she was in could feel the fatigue that she herself had no conception of.

(Alright, then, lets skip to the next day!)
Rena nodded to each. Nobody turned down the quest. It seemed odd that nobody that had been offered the quest turned it down.
They each have their own motives and reasons for accepting, the girl heard Granit's voice in her head.
I guess, Rena replied, glancing around at each of the Chosen, old and new, and felt the fatigue of the day wearing her down as she watched others lay down to rest.
Sleep, dear, I don't think any of these people will harm you. Neither Kith, Sorcha, Emmiline, Avyien, or Firis will let you come to harm, I think. And I will deffinantly protect you, came Granit's words.
Protection is not what I'm worried about. I can protect myself. It's other things... or maybe my mind is just tired. Sleep sounds good, Rena replied, and went to lay next to Granit, the buckskin winged horse already laying down. She spread her wings over the girl for warmth and both were quickly asleep.
~~~
The bright sun on the horizon woke up Rena from deep sleep. She sat up and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. Looking around she saw she wasn't the first up. All twelve eggs still remained in a circle next to the fire, and Granit was a few yards away grazing. Standing and stretching, she felt her stomach growl. She sniffed the air to smell that someone was cooking something over the fire. She came closer to see who was cooking and to see if she could have some...
(person cooking can be anybody)
(That'll be me then! Lol ^_^)
Meegan woke early, the nymph had always been one to rise before the sun, and now was no different. It was comforting to be the only one up - it gave her a sense of privacy that she had lost ever since Quebedeaux entered her life. Now, she was never alone - she could always feel him nagging at the edge of her mind, some days more eager to try and begin communication than others, and even with his failed attempts to make her accept the fact that they were bonded he still retained some hope. That much was obvious by his refusal to leave her be.
The girl sighed and looked at the huge red glorified lizard with wings who had the ability to sleep through anything curl up in a comical ball as she moved off to find breakfast.
She was lucky enough to find a few eggs and a random assortment of berries. It was a small hope that it might feed all here, but at least there would be something.
She returned to the fire where and set the eggs on a piece of cookware that she was advised to bring - Meegan was sure that it was the best piece of advice given - and let them cook. A small look about confirmed the disappearance of her dragon friend and she vaguely wondered at it, but quickly shrugged it off - Quebedeaux was perfectly able to care for himself.
The green girl nearly jumped with the arrival of Rena she had been so engrossed with her own whirlwind thoughts.
"I made breakfast," she offered quietly, with an awkward shifting of her position so that Rena could step closer.
"Care for some?" She asked, assuming that it was the woman's reason for coming over.
It was around this time that Queb came barreling back into the campsite, in what Meegan could only call a worried manner.
"Quebedeaux?" She began to ask loudly, but quickly changed key trying not to wake everyone else.
"Gods, child. I thought you had run off," the dragon said with a mild fire filled huff.
"No...breakfast," she explained, pointing to the food on the fire.
"Right," the dragon responded with a sniff, dropping back to the ground and stretching out like a large dog. "I knew that."
Meegan turned back to Rena with wide, apologetic eyes.
"Sorry, he is a bit of a worry wart," she said, remembering a few similar moments to this one - the pieces just now falling in place. Before she'd not actually realized that the dragon was actively looking for her.
"I am not," he said in a petulant voice from behind her, that fell to grumbling as he tried to shift back to a comfortable sleeping position.
