Calista sighed softly. "W-what does...your heart tell...you...to...do...?" she murmured. "Ask...yourself this...can you...be happy...without him....? Has...he mistreat you...? Do...not dwell on what...happened between us....one sin...cannot erase....all the happiness you've had...." she rasped out. "If...love beckons you...search for him...before it's...too late..." she murmured before she drew in a ragged breath and started to cough violently, her throat dry.

Growling in rage as men surrounded him, Darius unleashed another stream of flame. The stench of ale reeking on his breath.

Rosalina licked her lips. "I love him with all my heart." She confessed. "I was angrey, hurt. I know if he won't come back, i couldn;t stand it." She said. "I'm going to find him." She said and ran out.

Calista gave Gareth a weak smile but could only shake her head. "I...I am not...amazing..." she whispered hoarsely. "I..I just want...my sister to be happy...and I s-s-saw how happy...D-darius made her," she forced out. "A-and I want...you to find happiness...as well..." she murmured before turning her face away as she began to cough again---this time much more violently.

Growling in rage in more men surrounded him, Darius clawed out at those who drew near but in his drunken fit, he swung wide and missed his targets completely. A howl of pain escaped from his lips a second later as one of the villagers managed to pierce his side with a sharp tool.

Rosalina ran around the home before heading out. She knew there was a village near by. They knew her and her family. She quickly headed for it.

Groaning and growling in pain, Darius released a stream of fire an incernated a few other men. Yet, he was too intoxicated to realize that another man was sneaking up on him, the village hunter that carried a knife whose blade was dipped in a deadly poison to shifters. Coming mere inches from Darius, he quickly plunged the bade deep within his back. Howling in pain as his back arched, Darius shifted back to his human form as he crumpled to the ground.

Calista's coughing soon turned to harsh wheezing as her chest tightened and she struggled to breathe.

Gareth paled. "No, no." He put his hands on her chest, using his magic to aid her breathing. "Don't do this, not when I haven't had the chance to tell you . . ."

Rosalina heard the howling, she saw fire and dread filled her heart as she started running. "DARIUS!!!"

Calista's wheezing eased a bit as Gareth used his magic to help her breathe. "Thank you..." she murmured, her voice next to inaudible as she gazed up with glassy eyes. "T-tell me...what...?" Calista mumbled after a few minutes. She could feel a heavy drowsiness start to descend upon her again and her eyelids started to droop.

Darius just lay motionless on the ground, gasping for breath as the poison coursed through his veins.

Hearing those words from Gareth's lips was like a soothing balm on her wounded heart, although she could not understand how he could love a broken woman like her. "Y-you love...me?" Calista asked weakly, a hint of tears shining in her glazed eyes, although they were tears of joy. "Oh Gareth...I l-love you...too..." she whispered to him again, her voice trailing off as sleep started to crowd in on her again.

Darius' breathing worsened as the poison took a stronger hold on him. Soon a sharp moan escaped from his lips as his body convulsed wildly and he seized on the ground.

Gareth smiled and smoothed her hair and kissed ehr. "Sleep love. Sleep and we can talk later." He kissed her.

Calista gave Gareth a wan smile as he told her to sleep before returning his kiss weakly, the best that she could manage at the time. "Please...stay with me..." she murmured, pleading with him softly.

Darius just continued to convulse on the ground as the poison spread throughout his body.

Calista gave Gareth a gentle smile as he laid beside her. "Thank you," she murmured softly before snuggling against him and letting her eyes fall close.

"Why should we help him?" a man spoke up. "He tried to kill us!!!"
"He's a shifter! A freak of nature!" a second voice spoke up.
"He should die!" added a third as the crowd just remained back, unwilling to go to his aid.

Sighing contentedly as she rest in Gareth's arms, Calista's breathing began to even out as she slipped into a deep sleep.

"He became drunk and belligerent when we refused to give him more ale. After we threw him out, he morphed into a dragon and incinerated a few men before he was subdued. He deserves to die. And the sooner he is gone from this world, the safer we all will be," one of the villagers remarked.
