He took slow strides to the man.

David's face turned to that of panic. His eyes shifted to his walkie talkie that sat on the desk a few feet away from him. Security needed to be called immediatly! He would have to make a dash for it.... With a quick lunge, David reached for the mechanical device.

Shannon slowly opened her eyes and saw that no one was in her cell anymore. She sighed deeply and slowly sat up. She held onto her side, which was very sore and walked over to her cot. She laid down on it and just stared at the door. She wanted out. She needed out.

And with a quick lunge for himself, Shooter embeded the needle that which he held in his hand, into David's low back.
"Now, Mister Dep'u'tee, you let Mort Rainey leave all happy like, or you'll be finding yourself paralyzed on the floor with this liquid injected into your system..."
His mouth spread into a toothy grin.

"Awwwww!" the deputy shrieked sounding a loud sound out of the small inch underneath the door. His scream miraculously traveled to Shannon's cell in the process.
He then remained frozen and still. His mind was swimming with ideas and thoughts of how to free himself of this insane patient.
In a flash, David pulled himself away from Mort, releasing the needle out of his back. Grabbing the walkie talkie, he shouted into it, "SECURITY! SECURITY! We have code 29 in room 302! SECURITY!"

"Shut his trap, Mr. Rainey. We don't want any outsiders," Shooter said with a glare to Mort.

Shannon's head snapped up, when she heard the scream of the evil man that had hurt her. She glared and then waited. She waited in the dark, cold room for the woman that had given her clothes. She would get out of here. She knew it.

Shooter moved over David and injected the needle again, but this time into the man's neck. He pressed his thumb over the plastic and started injecting the fluid...slowly...
"I am so sorry it 'as to be this way, just be 'appy I didn't use Mort Rainey's screw-dri'ver in'stead."

To Shannon's disappointment, the burly woman did not return. The only thing that came near her cell was the security that David had called, running past her door.

David gasped in a large amount of air with widening eyes. He could feel the hot liquid enter his neck painfully.
With a hard punch, David pushed Mort away from him and the needle. He backed away holding his neck, but as he did, his eyesight began to blur.
"HELP! SECURITY!" David shouted helplessly. He would have ran for the door, but he would need to pass by Mort.

He laughed mockingly and then wrapped his hands around David's neck, and started squeezing his throat.

Mort's face was blurry before him and he struggled to free himself of the tight grip around his neck. He gagged and coughed as he tried with all the strength remaining in his body, to shout for help, but it was useless. David's windpipe was closing slowly.
His legs them became very numb and he fell to his knees...the medication in the shot was reacting quicker than he thought.

Security was now banging on the door that secured Mort and David in the room. "Open up! Deputy are you in there? Open up!" a man's voice shouted from outside.

Shooter looked towards the door, and then threw David to the floor.
He puckered his lips forward as if he were thinking, and then with a lazy stride he walked across the room, and leaned up against the wall next to the door, gripping the needle in hand.

"Open up this door! If you fail to open the door, we will have to force it open! Open this door!" shouted the same officer from behind the metal door.
Mummbling could be heard from a couple officers amongst themselves, as the automatic locks were then opened. Three officers then dashed into the room with their taser guns drawn. "Deputy!" shouted a short officer as he ran to David who was lying on the floor gasping for air.

The jingling of keys in someone's pocket was nearing Shannon's cell door. The face of the woman appreared in the small window. She seemed upset.

Shannon looked up, when she heard the keys. She saw the woman's face in the window and grinned a little to her. She quickly wiped the grin off of her face, though. She couldn't have the woman thinking anything suspicious. That would just throw Shannon right off track.

Shooter, like a cat in the shadows, walked out of the room, unnoticed and unseen.
With a slam he closed the door, and casually walked down the hall, as if nothing had ever happened...
