Shannon held on tightly to the night stick she held in her hand. She swallowed hard and stuck the keys in her pant pocket. She stepped into the hallway and stared at Mort and the officers. She took a deep breath and then started walking. If anyone got in her way... well, you can catch my drift.

Instead, he kept walking, all this with a cocky grin.

"It's no use. Mister Rainey 'as already left, and hit the road! An' no one will stand between our way." he called back in response to the officers.

Suddenly, out of no where, Dan crashed into Shannon and Mort's frames. "Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww!" he screamed and cowered. "Oh, it's just you....I need to get out of here! Help me!" he said helplessly to Mort.

The officers were now within just inches of clobbering Mort and Shannon's heads, "GET ON THE GROUND! ALL THREE OF YOU!"

Mort's figure stopped. And he slowly turned around, "I wouldn't try it...I really wouldn't, 'cause we all know, ya all will be hangin' by your bed posts tonight if ya did. And I know yer intelligent 'nough to figure out what tha' means.."
Shooter grinned and stared straight into the men's faces with no fear.

Dan shook in a terrified mannor and leaned himself up against the hallway wall. "Please, don't hurt me! PLEASE!" he screamed at the advancing officers.

The officer that Shannon had hit, fell onto one knee and yelped in pain. "Stupid *beep*!" he grunted angrily.
The other officer dashed to Mort full force and swung the baton near his head with all his might.
