Edwin decided to finally break the back of the demon by sending a barrage of his own at the demon, it fell down and Edwn sighed as his feet trembled, but as he noticed Ghyreian he went to her as fast as he could. He sat down besides her sighing and offered support for her.

"I'm fine," Ghyreian breathed, staggering shakily to her feet. Curse it, that water was cold! She glanced at Edwin, assured herself that he was in manageable condition.

The air around them shimmered. Their surroundings were replaced by a pristine room in which two sea elven women stood waiting. The nude elfmaids gestured towards the bandages, cloaks, and tubs of warm water. "Rest while you can. The judges are evaluating your performance."

Edwin stumbled up and thankfully nodded to the elves as he took what he needed from their offerings, Edwin put a cloak around himself to warm himself and then offered one to Ghyreian before she could have taken one herserlf.

"Valuating... sounds interesting that they are valuating our performance"

Ghyreian accepted the thick cloak with a nod of thanks. She moved to the tubs and splashed steaming water on her face and arms.

"It sounds interesting that for once in a test of honor, I don't think I failed," she replied dryly.

He muttered under his breath "I don't understand all this nonense-" he trailed off.

The sea elf maidens appeared at the door and beckoned them to follow. They led them out the room, through a maze of corridors, and into yet another audience chamber. Three ancient and withered sea elves sat on a high dais at the far end.

"Come forward and receive your judgement."

Edwin flashed couraging smirk hoping that they did well enough to be `worthy` to receive the compass so that they could find what they were looking for and leave the icewall for good. Edwin walked in front of the three and looked at the all calmly.

"Your nobility was commendable," one of the sea elves said torpidly, ticking something off on a sheet of parchment. "Your honor teetered precariously on the brink of failure, your ability was excellent, and your motives were... interesting."

At any other time, Ghyreian would have found this amusing. Now she concentrated intently on the speaking sea elf.

The sea elf's aged face was a smooth deadpan as he appraised all three of them. He paused melodramatically. "The Compass of Feal-thas is yours," he declared, proffering a nondescript brown sack.

Edwin took it in a respecting manner and looked at the sack offering it for Ghyreian to keep, he made a slight bow at the elves and then looked at Ghyreian.

"Let`s leave and find what we came for..."

Ghyreian took the sack, felt the bulging weight inside, and tucked it in a pocket of her robes. She too offered a bow to the elves, albeit a mocking one, and followed Edwin out the door.

Before Meneldor could follow, however, one of the guards grabbed him and motioned for him to stay.

Edwin turned to look at the elves for an explenation with his eyebrow raised.

"What has he done now?"

"Yes, what HAVE I done?" he asked, but his eyes flashed dangerously.

"He has failed the trials," the sea elf shot back calmly. "Follow me this way." Another muscled sea elf flanked Meneldor as the first turned stalked off into a side room off the main audience chamber.

Uncertain what to do, Ghyreian simply stood there until another sea elf impatiently dismissed her from the audience chamber. She glanced at Edwin, shrugged, and stepped out into the corridor.
