(Well, I haven't really said what Penfire is... actually, I haven't even decided yet! lol)

Annalett finally finnished serving the last patron, and leaned against the bar, glancing about the room. It was obvious Tricia and Marrick were oblivious to what was going on around them, and that they were in the main door-way, blocking people who wanted in or out. Idilly(sp?), she shoved her hand into her pocket, and grasped the shard. If only she knew, and all the others, how many people there also had a piece of the shard.

Penfire soon took a seat at a table, and started fiddling with his hair. Just then he happened to look up and see a girl in the rafters, the same girl in the tree. She had a menacing look on her face. Penfire chukled, and glanced about the room...

(Whao! I was gone for a while...could someone fill me in?)

(We're all gathered in a tavern. FM's character just started a brawl, but it was put down.)

Danae pouted. "Well that amounted to no fun at all," she complained with a huff as she watched the innkeeper throw the remaining fighting men out the door. "I was hoping for some... excitement." She shoved her dagger back into its sheath with more force than was obviously necessary.

Then she turned her attention back to the woman. "It's good to meet you, Elarinya." She grinned wryly. "'Tis a pity we didn't get to compare each other's fighting skills, eh?" she commented, gesturing to the other woman's sword. Danae never had been very good with a sword, but the dagger she kept at her belt and the many others she kept hidden in her clothes often came in very handy.

Curious, she looked around the room at the other patrons. Her eyes landed on the man who had jumped up on the table and started the whole brawl. He was now staring at some woman. Odd, that. She half shrugged and looked away. Then as she glanced around the room, she saw the man (Braad) who had snuck off when the man started the brawl. That must be the man who the other man had been calling for. "Hey," she called to him, "You there, come 'ere." She turned back to Elarinya. "Maybe we can get some answers as to why this little fight broke out," she said with a shrug.

I'm back!

Kith grimaced at the fight. The spirits they had consumed made thier blows so akward and uncordinated. He perfered to stay in his little dark corner and observe then to spend energy needlessly showing these brawlers how real fighting was done. He was somewhat glad when the brawlers were thrown out; the excitment was gone, but at least it was quiet again.

Tricia sank to her knees. That kiss, it was like heaven, as if the last three years were a dream. But then he walked away, just like that, why did Merrick do that and then leave her alone again. She was so lost in her thoughts she didn't notice Annalett come up to her.

Braad noticed the two women who had seemed so tense before the fight had broken out. They seemed to be more relaxed now. One of them called to him. He frowned a bit- he seemed to be a popular fellow today. He walked over to where the women stood and smiled. No need to start out on the wrong foot.

Malai stood along one wall of the tavern, dissapointed. The fight hadn't lasted very long- she had only had time to swipe one purse. That one was fairly empty, anyways, she realized as she felt it. Frowning, she glanced around the room for anyone else who might have a bit more substantial amount of money.

"A pleasure to meet you too Danae." Elarinya replied, relaxing somewhat yet never fully letting down her guard. "And yes, it is a pity, we had no such luck." Elarinya replied to the woman's comment, amusement glittering in her eyes. She watched as Braad sauntered over to them after Danae called him. A wise idea to get some answers. she thought. It never does any good to be caught unaware. Elarinya nodded in greeting as the man came up to them, smiling thinly. "So, it appears you are quite the famed one here." Elarinya stated as she studied him. "Any reason for the brawl just now? I highly doubt it was for the entertainment of the locals-though a show it would have been had it lasted longer."

Braad shrugged at Elarinya's question. "Unfortunately, I'm in the dark. I don't know the man who was asking for me- never even seen him before."

Elarinya nodded slightly, still skeptical of the man yet she decided to drop the matter. "A pity." she remarked. "To have a stranger know so much about you, while you know little about them..." she broke off for a moment, wondering how much more she should say. One could never be to careful in a tavern-who knew who else was listening. The walls had ears and the shadows eyes. It was better to remain a mystery to many. "I'm Elarinya, by the way." she said more in greeting.

Kith sat in the corner, listening to the conversation of Braad Danae and Elarinya. They didn't notice him, at least not yet. He had mastered the art of staying undetected. The girl by the name of Elarinya was about to explain somthing, but broke of. She glanced around the room, her eyes sliding over the inhabidants of the tavern Smart girl he thought to himself.

Danae peered at Braad curiously. "Odd, that," she said after a moment. She wondered what the man could have wanted. Why would he have tried to start a fight with someone who had never even met him before. When she first called Braad over to them, she had suspected some story about how he stole something or another from the man or wronged him in some other way. That would have been understandable. And she didn't think the man was just a drunk. He didn't seem drunk at all when that woman walked in. This was just... strange. In years previous, she would have thought nothing of it. But now.... After so many odd things had been happening.... Well, she didn't believe in coincidence.

Her hand once again moved to the pouch at her belt. To the shard. It was a habit she needed to break. But she couldn't help herself. She wrapped her fingers around its familiar shape, making sure it was still there, still safe. Gods, it would be terrible to lose it! Her black eyes glazed over momentarily as she caressed the shard through the material of her pouch. Then with a jolt, she came out of the trance. She realized how ridiculous she must have looked and could not stop herself from blushing. She bent her face towards the floor, trying to hide the sudden color in her cheeks. "And I'm Danae," she said to Braad when she had composed herself.

I'm back!

Penfire sat in a chair, and put his booted feet up on a table. A moment later he grabbed a handful of his hair, knowingly grasping the shard tied in it. Not knowingly grasping the other two shards also in his hair, that he thought were only rocks. Well, all three happened to touch, and make contact with his calloused skin. In that moment many bright lights came into his view. One on each of those girls, and an the man named Braad, plus one on Annalett and the girl she came in with who was now kneeling on the floor. And a few others, plus one coming from the chest of the girl up in the rafters that no one else noticed.

Penfire, supprised from the sudden lights, toppled over, falling backwards because his chair had been tipping on two legs. When he got on his own two legs, he gave a long whistle, and examined the other two shards he hadn't known were shards. Since they had touched, they must have let him see all the other shards as light.
"Lots of people have them things..." he mumbled under his breathe...

(I hope that post is okay... it just popped into my mind all of a sudden)

The young man nodded and smiled ot the women. "I'm Braad." he said, "Although I'm sure you already had guessed that."

The shard in Cina lept in her chest causing momentuary pain. Her attention suddenly flicked towards a man who had just fallen to the floor.
He...
He what? Her eyes turned white as the shard took control. He has something i want. She struggled for a moment against it. then gave up. The shard commanded her to wait and watch, that had severed it well in the past.
