Elarinya narrowed her eyes as Tlenes stalked to the door. No need to be harsh. she thought to herself as she followed the Shadow Bearer. With that she walked over to the barn and to her mare, Turtegiel. “Come, my friend.” she whispered as she led the mare out.
Turtegiel nickered softly as the pair walked out. Mounting her mare outside the cabin she waited for the others.

Cylinn walked her mare over to Garland.
"Nice to see you again." She said icily.

Garland blinked his eyes and turned towards Cylinn.
"Again? Ah indeed... I thought you were already dead human, but I guess the ring does grant you unnaturally long age... for you humans that is"
Garland said with a mock towards her race, but there was nothing more to it than just small bickering, nothing personal as they were in the end on the same side. Garland listened quietly around and gazed at the tree`s that had already began to twist, the first one would become the very heart of the infection and in a week or two Garland could control the whole forest.
That all depended on how much trouble came along, otherwise he could have taken over the whole woods with ease, but these tree`s were thick and strong, even more pleasing to corrupt that was.

Turwaithiel had to grin as Tlenes snapped at them. She walked over to her horse and mounted it, saying, "You haven't changed at all, mate. Do you know the way to the forest? And how long it may take?" She knew Tlenes was wiser than most, and that was why she asked his oponion now.

Rhalen was striding towards the stables when he stopped suddenly. He fingered his ring unconciously as he said to the others, "Trees are dying, decaying, and the sickness is spreading. It must be demon work."

Cylinn glared at Garland, "Ha ha."
Cylinn shifted in her saddle and squeezed her horses sides with her legs. She was anticipating trouble, and she would be ready for it.

Turwaithiel glanced at Rhalen and heeded his words. "Ah, and the Lady Arwe will not be pleased about that, as you all can imagine." Turwaithiel's eyes then became to look distance for a split second and then she announced, "Many fires burn against their will for the darkness that now is spreading across the land. Weapons are becoming plentful and the force of light is going under shadow. We must be swift!"
((just to let everyone know, you can always feel the presence of your element...you can feel what the opposite side does with it...like I did above...both evil and good can do this... ))

Elarinya nodded in understanding at Turwaithiel's words. "True." she remarked quietly. "Yet, though the shadows deepen, the enemy can never truly vanquish the light. As long as one warrior remains, the world has hope." Glancing around the dark woods she gently pat her mare's neck, feeling her animal grow uneasy amid the unnatural darkness. "We should move out. The hour is late and time now turns against us."

Tlenes dug his heels into his horse's flanks, urging the mount onwards. Despite his customary urge to be alone, he couldn't deny that he felt at home among his fellow Bearers. He glanced at Turwaithiel and flashed a faint, if slightly mocking, grin. Still, it was a start at least. "I know the way. A bit," he admitted. "The journey will take days even if we ride hard."
He rode in front of the others as the shadows of the forest closed over them. His fingers reached into his pocket and absently rubbed the Ring of Shadow. It was only then, as soon as he brushed the obsidian surface, that he realized the shadows truly were closing in. More specifically, the trees.
Suddenly the nearest tree twisted and snapped forward. Its grasping branches tore at his horse's flank. The spooked beast whinnied and danced sideways. The forest was coming alive.

((aye, I did Amoniel. But thanks! I'm in a total pirates phase! lol))
Turwaithiel looked at her commrad's and said to Tlenes, matching his grin with her own, said, "Well, then, Master Tlenes Shadow, could you please led the way? And we best not tire the horses too much, but they are stronger than most." She said.

Rhalen rode towards the back of the group, lost in his own thoughts. He wasn't paying any attention to the path at hand until a prickle at the base of his neck alerted him. His head snapped up and he glanced around the forest. Something was wrong... he saw a flicker of movement out of the corner of his eye, then realized the path was much darker and narrower than it should have been.
He started to give a warning shout to the others, but at that moment a branch reached out and raked at Thlenes' horse. Too late.
He reached out, drawing on his ring's power. It filled him, rushing through his body and mind like a flood. He flung his hands up and outwards, trying to hold back the trees. Demon work. he thought. He was safe from any attacks the bearer of the ring of earth made, so he focused his attention of the trees reaching out for his companions.
Despite his ring's power, some of the trees still reached out, their branches searching and lashing. One branch slashed across his horse's face. Cahal whinnied in fright and reared, throwing Rhalen to the ground.

Elarinya rode near the middle of the group when she heard Rhalen's warning cry. What on earth- she thought as the branches grasped menacingly at the group, barring their path. Her mare whinnied in fear as she instinctively shied away and Elarinya tried desperately to soothe her. "What now?" she asked as she ducked one branch only to be cut on the cheek by another. Absently wiping away the warm blood that seeped from the wound, she ignored the stinging pain as she desperately tried to evade the onslaught of the woods.

Garland sensed what was going on and how the tree`s already had become bent on killing all intruders, in this case the ringer bearers that oppose Garland and his brethren. He sensed a disturbance trying to push back his dark will and corruption, his own rings counter part and it was being used against him. Garland rushed over to the source tree and pressed his hands against it`s surface.
He fed more of his powers into the tree`s and furthered the corruption, ordering the tree`s to rip apart all those that had entered the forest without his permission. Hate had began to breed in the very roots of these tree`s, a hate for all other things growing and living as they were forced to a dark servitude under Garland. They would grow far more monstrous with more time and by then the forest would become Garlands sanctuary.

Rhalen scrambled to his feet, feeling more hate and evil flow through the trees. He held up his hands again, focusing all his powers on holding back the wildly lashing branches. They were too strong for him, though, and his barriers began to crumble. The trees renewed their attack.
The evil spread through the forest, focused along the narrow path ahead of them. "Are there any other roads?" Rhalen cried out to the others. To continue on this path would be a constant battle.

Turwaithiel's horse reared in fright as she tried to control him. "Is there any way we can stop the trees without destroying them?" She yelled as she tried to not get killed.
