Luke blushed and almost reached out his hand to get Geni up. He didn't want her curtising him, that was for sure. But, he pulled it back and said, "Oh, please, Lady, don't do that to me. It is not my place to be bowed upon. And no, Lady, not bold. Honesty is never bold. I have most defiantely-" But then Luke was cut off when he was going to reveal his feelings about talking with Geni when his master came in. Master Ivrax le de Touyn-Chemeaux, one of the Dukes of the Court. He was also one of the harshes Dukes in the entire country. He spotted Luke in no time and before Luke could excuse himself and escape Ivrax's wrath, he caught up to them.

Duke Ivrax walked up to them, and after a sideways glance at Luke, who looked at his empty drink tray, (which at this moment he put down under his arm at his side) and looked down, not wanting to be punished in front of Lady Geni, the Duke bowed low.

"My Lady Geni. I just got done talking to your mother. An honor it is." He glanced again at Luke, and said, "I see you've met my servant boy, Luke." His eyes glared at Luke and pierced him like ice, as he said, "The cook will be displeased to know that you are slacking your duties, after he has cooked all night and all day to prepare for this day, and you don't even do your small share of work. I am ashamed that I am your master, and you will be punished for your impudence later tonight. Now scat. boy!" Luke, not even wanting to look at Geni right now, bowed low and turned, running into another boy and causing him to spill his drinks. Luke could feel Duke Ivrax's displeased eyes still on him and he could hear some of the nobles hushed laughter and whispered as he moved as quick as he could to get away from this embaressment he brought upon himself. He caught one last look to see the Duke offer his hand to Geni for a dance and he hoped, against his own feelings, that she would accept. He didn't want her to feel his wrath, like he would tonight. Luke then remembered the Duke mentioning he talked to Geni's mother. He probably is going to try and make a good suitor and court her. Luke sighed heavily. He knew himself courting Geni was nothing but a dream. He then heard the cook's yells from the kitched and he ran in.

Nicole kissed his cheek " have fun Mon amour " she said walking off swaying her hips alittle. SHe walked over to where Hettie was nodding or curtsing to various nobles as she passed. seeing she came at a tense moment she broke the erie silence" Ah hettie there you are I see you have made some new friends here!" she said delighted at Hetties independece from her.

Geni looked sadly at Luke as he walked away and accepted the Duke's hand for a dance.
"Your servant has wonderful manners." Geni said smiling, "You influence him well."
They danced for awhile, Geni was not taken to the Duke. She would much rather be in Luke's company.

Geni nodded slightly, understanding that he did not want to talk about Luke. Her stomach fluttered anxiously. She hoped she had not gotten Luke into trouble. Geni and the Duke continued dancing. Geni moved around like she was not touching the ground. She loved to dance and the Duke was not bad himself.
"You talked with my mother?" Geni asked trying to steer the conversation from Luke, "She loves to mingle, but she hates to dance."

"Yes, I am unfortunately single." Geni said. She didn't feel particularly happy about possibly being courted by the Duke. He was a nice man, but Geni was hoping that she would be able to talk to Luke again. She liked him very very much.

*Michael observed this brief outburst of the Duke Ivrax's, and shook his head slightly. Here Nicole was the matchmaker, and he was getting himself into this... He stepped over near where the Duke was dancing, and tapped on his shoulder. When he turned, Michael was there smiling.*
My dear Duke Ivrax, I was looking for you. There is a friend of mine I would like you to meet. He just arrived, and here is the perfect opportunity to meet him.
*Michael took Duke Ivrax's arm, and began to lead him away. He pointed out Mr. Dupont, and exclaimed.*
Well, there he is now.
*As the Duke turned, Michael quickly turned back to Geni, and pointed to his eyes, and to the door through which Luke had left.*

(Hopefully I'm not powerplaying anyone's character, but if I read right I think the Duke is an NPC, just as Mr Dupont.)

The Duke smiled as the dance ended. "Maybe we can change that." He said, bowing, and kissing her hand. "Now, if you will please excuse me, Lady, I have a servant to deal with. Until our further meeting, I will be thinking about you." He smiled and then turned and left.

Geni grinned at Micheal, curtsied at him, and hurried toward the door he pointed out.
"Geni there you are!" She heard her mother exclaim and then felt her mother's hand grasp her wrist.
"Mother!" Geni said, trying to be pleasant.
"I saw you dancing with Duke Ivrax, what a pleasant man."
"I was told it was your doing. Thank you mother, he is a...pleasant...man. I must be off, I see someone I must speak to." At this Geni turned and rushed off to the door. She pushed it open and looked around.
"Luke?" She asked to no one in particular, hoping someone would tell her where he was.
