Edwin felt an outer power reach him and joining the spell, Edwin regonized it and would have screamed in vain, if he had the chance, but in a matter of few seconds the spell errupted. A blinding light shone trough the crystal as, if it melted the crystal and it burned the hands of Edwin who raised it up high. He would not let go until he knew that it wouls work thus as the light swalloved Edwin and Ghyreian, then the fields surrounding them and the armies on the field. Dragons in the sky screeched in pain and rage as they were swalloved by the light or brought down by it, Edwin himself felt his hands slipping.

Then he fell and stared upwards, all he saw was blinding whiteness before him as did not control a muscle in his body. Perhaps he could not or did not wish to as he was convinced that he was dead, but he could swear he would have wanted to cry for that fact that he had taken Ghyreians as well.

"This wasn`t what was supposed to happen..."

He muttered to himself as he had no idea where he layed....

Ghyreian opened her eyes and assimilated her surreal environment. Surrounded by white, she seemed to float in limbo. She squinted against the blinding light and ventured, "Edwin?"

A voice - from the material plane, perhaps - seemed called her from across the vast expanse of nothingness. She stretched out her hand, feeling her way forward...

Edwin coughed and then gathered his strength to gaze around, he sat up with great effort before he looked at the limbo like place he was in. Where was he? Was he dead? Was this the after life? And why was everything so white? Edwin sighed and began almost crawling without no apparent destination hoping to find something.

Ghyreian's hand bumped into something. She extracted it quickly and shaded her eyes against the light. She could discern a red, hazy outline. "Edwin?" she repeated.

Meneldor gasped at what he saw, he had not expected this. The army was GONE! But whether it was destroyed or not, that he did NOT know!
He made his way back to Palanthas, and to the Tower of high Sorcery to talk with Raistlin the Great, if he permitted it.

As the voice called out Edwin gazed towards the figure, regonizing the black robe he sighed in deep relief and rose to sit on his knee`s. He coughed and looked back at the figure with a moment of hesitation.

He answered with an exhausted tone.

Relief flooded her, followed in quick succession by the urge to punch him. At his exhausted tone though, she stopped herself. "Noble, suicidal, idiotic human," she sighed without much conviction.

Edwin said with an amused smile as he stumbled up to stand, he seemed to wave from one side to another. It was hard to stand, but he managed all tough his staff would have been a great relief. He blinked his eyes and looked at Ghyreian.

Ghyreian offered her arm to help him stand. She looked down, then straight ahead, avoiding his gaze. "So the dragonorb is gone."

She thought she heard the distant voice calling them again. Wearily, she began walking towards it.

Edwin followed with her assitance and grinned almost all the way, he was exhausted and was behginning to believe they were not dead as he felt pain. The dead weren`t supposed to be tired or in pain, but if they weren`t dead then what was this place? Had the freed essence transported them onto another plane of somesort? In anycase Edwin hoped to gain some answers as he looked at white robe standing in the midst of the whiteness.

"Where are we?"

Edwin asked with a weak voice.

At this rate, Par-Salian was the last person Ghyreian wanted to see. "Greetings," she deadpanned. "Edwin asked a good question."

Par-Salian nodded quietly with a clever smile on his face.

"A good question indeed, the release of the essence triggered... shall we say a distortion and you ended up here. I came to realise this and made my way here for it would have been wrong to leave you here forever. This is a void like space left by the spell and the essence, another plane shall we say. I never thought this would come to pass, but it seems that magic cannot be always predicted.

A side effect possibly saved your lives or the most I fear..."

From the whiteness began to emerge figures, draconians and other creatures that hissed in anger at them.

"This... we are actually inside the essence and the spell, they have captured the armies here, but Ariakas unfortunately escaped as he is a powerful mage. Come let us leave..."

Par Salian said and approached them, he cast a complicated spell and just in time before the dragons appeared to scorch the spot they had been in. They appeared into the work room of Par Salian, the white mage sat down with a relief into his chair. Edwin breathed heavily on the floor as he stared at Ghyreian who was beside him.

Ghyreian took the liberty of drawing a chair for herself. She scrutinized Par-Salian, not certain whether or not to thank him. Nor was she certain if the fact that Ariakas escaped quite suited her.

"Ariakas retreats to Neraka, where he meets the other dragon highlords. Do not worry yourself over this, for this is another hero's concern. Or should I say, heroes." Par-Salian managed a wan smile. "You have done well, and you are free to go unless you require something of me..."

Meneldor travelled to palantahs instantly, and strode to the Tower. He would have to risk the dreaded forst. If he passed safely, then perhaps Raistlin would see him worthy of entry. If not... he would die a painful and horrible death.

Edwin coughed and sat on a chair, but smirked as he gazed at Par Salian.

"Heroes? You do mean them?"

Edwin asked quietly as he had a very bad guess of these heroes, Par SAlian seemed amused by this, but then Edwin sighed and stumbled out of the room. He gazed at Ghyreian before stepping out of the room.

"I will be in my room, if anyone needs me...."

He said before turning away and beginning to stumble trough the hallways towards his own room.

Meneldor wandered Palanthas, studying various books in the great library on the Dragonorbs. He was trying to figure out how they could have done that and where they went.
The best that Meneldor could think of at the moment was that the magic had overloaded and either destroyed them, or better than that, sucked them to another plane... hence the flash of light and them dissapering.
