Nessa fell forward, shielding her head with her arms, and dumped Mark into Chris's arms before falling awkwardly, unable to walk because of her ankle. "Go!" she shrieked, crying out in pain.

Lee heard Nessa scream and she bent low, scooping up Jimmy and making him lean against her as she limped towards Nessa. When she arrived, she fell onto her knees and accidently dropped Jimmy when she did. "Oh! sorry Jimmy!" She said before taking one of her crutches and giving it to Nessa. "Here." She said. "I can make with one and so can you. We must keep going. There's an cave up ahead."

Rain pounded against his face. Alex blinked away water. He felt so very sleepy... He heard someone shouting his name. Someone was always shouting his name. You idiot, Alex. You're a moron, Alex. You have detention, Alex. Settle down, Alex.

With a start, he woke up. "Huh? Oh... yeah..." He bent down, grasping Mark's feet.

At first, it sounded like an earthquake.

Under the flashes of thunder and peals of lightning, the ground shook. In the dense jungles bordering the beach, trees swayed and cracked. It looked as if something monstrous, something titanic, was moving towards them at a leisurely pace.

Nessa could barely restrain her panic. Her ankle hurt fiercely and the crutch barely kept her up. She took a few faltering steps and stumbled, falling to her knees. She looked back to make sure someone had Mark, and saw Alex carrying him. Nessa shut her eyes, trying to block out the terror. Stand up, stupid! she thought, but her ankle hurt and she couldn't think straight past all the noise.

Alex turned around to see something huge moving in the jungle. His grogginess evaporated, to be replaced by terror. He stumbled and fell to his knees, inadvertently dropping Mark in the process. His chest burned.

Meanwhile, the thing in the jungle was coming straight for them.

"Alex! Come on man! Grab his legs! " Chirs shouted, while he watched the huge shadow move. Terror caused his legs not to react, he gasped for breath, but then he saw Nessa lying on the ground, defenseless, and the boy in his one good arm.
By another lightning flash Chris woke from his shock.
Gasping for breath, he dragged Mark into the bushes, in the direction where the other girl said there was a cave.

Nessa shook her wet hair off her face, and gritting her teeth began to crawl forward. Her ankle had swelled alarmingly, making her completely unable to put the slightest weight on it, and with the rain had come a cold wind. Rain ran into Nessa's eyes and she looked around, trying to make sure everyone was safe and noticing in alarm that she was the last one. She tried to crawl faster and slipped.

Lee grabbed hold of Jimmy as the trees moved and something roared so loud and fiercly that the entire jungle shook and these weird red and blue birds that where in the trees flew away in terror. "It can't be..." Lee whispered as she dragged Jimmy into the cave.

Lee layied Jimmy down before she collapsed beside him, breathing heavily. "Ohhh." She said, sighing heavily.

The jungle shook one last time, and from the dense foliage stepped two... Giant scaled things with rather large teeth. Very large teeth. In fact, they looked a bit hungry as well.

For a frozen second, Alex could only gape. He found his voice again. "Is it just me or does anyone else sense something strange about the time period we're in?"

The two allosauruses were easily forty feet long from head to lashing tail. Against the tumult of flashing lightning and driving rain, they looked invincible. Almost lazily, they sniffed around for their prey.

Nessa screamed, but the sound was lost in the cacophony of thunder and the noise the dinosaurs were making. She turned and saw them full on. Unable, for a moment, to speak, she tried a few times and finally managed to shriek, "Alex!" in his general direction. There was no way she coudl make it cover fast enough by herself and her ankle was sending blinding shafts of pain up her leg.

"It's just me," he said decisively. "I. Am. Hallucinating. Again." Then he heard someone shrieking his name. It was the young woman who didn't like him very much - Nessa. Of course, girls always need saving after they degrade him.

"Coming!" he bellowed, slipping in the muddy sand. He reached Nessa and grasped her arm.
