Caunion the Frost Lord wrote: Decian knew the precautions the rebel were taking. Good, they aren't completely stupid, he thought as he relayed messages mentally to the other Death Bringers. Those that brought them began loading their crossbows. The Death Bringers were not just idly standing by; instead they were analyzing the rebels, seeing which ones were crucial to kill. Meanwhile Decian said, "Our purpose is to unite into a coalition. My allegiance is with the elves yet the leaders bid me to join you guys but we shall remain a separate body."
Allied with the elves. Allied with the elves. That particular statement triggered immediate wariness in Tajien. In the past, he had had very unpleasent with the Fair Folk(not exactly an apt name for them when they stood against you because of your race) in the past. But before he had a chance to reply to the statement, he reached for his bow as the 'intruders' did the same. Figuring this was going to turn into an ambush, he half-nocked an arrow, before he saw the movement in the nearby trees and paused, string taut and arrow still nocked.

Meleth froze in the act of whipping an arrow out of her quiver, eyes searching the treed woodland. Her bow was strung still and as she watched she slowly notched the arrow, aiming carefully.
The messenger boy looked very apprehensive, and nervously put an arrow to his own bow, looking positively petrified.

Realizing, with narrowing eyes, that those among the trees were clearly goblins, Tajien raised his bow higher and fired an arrow, just as the first goblin burst from the trees. The arrow took the creature through the throat, and it fell with a strangled grunt, only to have more spring forward and take its place almost immediately.

A blue-fletched arrow sunk itself directly in the heart of another goblin, and another one, glowing strangely, struck a second and felled him instantly. As a clumsy goblin carelessly trampled over the body, he gave a yell and toppled over, obviously dead. Meleth gave a grim smile - how fortunate she'd learned the art of deadly arrows - and brushed a finger down the shaft of her next one to make it glow eerily as well.
The messenger boy shakily fired an arrow, which struck a goblin in the shin and made him yell in pain but unfortunately was far from killing him.

Another black-fletched arrow took down the goblin who had been shot in the shin, and the two who sprang up from behind that one both fell, taken down by flaming arrows. The two firing the fiery darts were none other than Tajien and Raevyn, who were both sincerely glad of their abilities just then. Fire was so much easier to use to kill people and creatures..

"Pathetic..." muttered Meleth, cunningly firing two arrows at once, both of which went straight through a goblin, felling him instantly, and killed the one behind him. She blew softly into her hand and a little sphere of light appeared, which she threw with a flick into their ranks. There it swelled alarmingly and burst, killing three or four. "Tajien!" she shouted over the commotion of battle, "this is too easy - have someone keep an eye out, in case it's a diversion!"

Turning with his bowstring pulled taut, Tajien merely nodded quickly in response and fired the flaming arrow, then turned and whistled shrilly. A handful of archers and swordsman of varying races from the camp suddenly showed up, fanning into the trees in groups of two or three, to try and take down more of the goblins at their source, as well as try to discover what their purpose could be for this attack.

Thane fired arrow after arrow, felling as many goblins as possible. He noticed two things. One: they were definatley not used to fighting in battles, and two: despite thier inaptness they were fearless. They kept coming even when they saw their fellow comrades killed.

Kith grinned, then shifted shapes. His body frew tall and bulky. Tusks jutted from his face, and his ears grew bigger. He was a bull elephant, more than ready to take on a few goblins. Just let those goblins with thier pig stickers try to get me Kith thought to himslelf. He let out a loud trumpet then charged forward.

Soon, the approaching goblins began seeming to thin out, and Tajien noted this with a slight frown. Either there weren't that many of them to begin with, or they were retreating, finally realizing the futility of this attack. Whatever reason there was, Tajien then decided to find out what that reason was and took off towards the tree, not realizing what kind of mistake he was actually making..

"Tajien - " began Meleth uncertainly, and followed him with an arrow notched to her bow. "Wait a moment until we make sure there aren't any more!"

"There aren't any mo-" Tajien began, half-turning, but there was a sudden bellow from behind him in the trees, and before he could even turn, an arrow struck him between the shoulder blades.

Meleth stifled a scream of pure unpleasant shock and sprang forward, seizing Tajien to push him aside. "Bows - weapons - out!" she shrieked at the rest of the troops, and whirled to meet whatever was coming.
((Arghh...I'm leaving, I really am...lol...))

( Ok... this is an advancement for around 1 1/2 hours...)
During their practicing, Vennir's head snapped over to his right, back to camp. Great. Just Great. Goblins.
"We will have to finish this later, come on." He then grabbed his sword and ran back to camp. He heard Tajien talking, so he followed the voice. Once to where he had seen a figure, he began to speak,
"Tajien, what in the name of-" He was cut short when he saw the shapeshifter's prone form laying on the ground with an arrow penetrating from his back.
"Oh no..." He whispered, almost non audible.

"T-..troll!" said shapeshifter managed to gasp out, raising his head and reaching fruitlessly for his bow that lay nearby. Just then, the bellow sounded again, and what lumbered out from among the trees just then could not be mistaken for anything else than a troll. Mottled grey skin thickly covered the beast's hulky frame, and beady black eyes stared out from cave-like sockets in the lumpy mass of a head. In the beast's hand was a massive battle axe, which it brandished threateningly at those who menaced it.

Kith bellowed again. I'll take the troll! He yelled. He charged, all six tons of him intent on flatening the troll to the ground. He collided with a smack. The troll was thrown backwards and hit the ground hard.
(About how big is the troll?)

(Eh..rough estimate, 10 feet tall, weighs about 1,000 pounds. So, one big piece of troll-flesh.)
