"Death does not heal, death only take`s away the breath of life and forces the soul and mind to leave the body..."

Nolgos muttered and closed the eyes dead man before pulling a blanket over the dead body. He did however wonder why were these two there? He knew why death was there, but why had it called the woman a goddess? Nolgos examined the woman quietly before walking out to the porch again after gazing over the rest of his patients. They were safe and at ease, at least he himself could have rest. He looked beside his own house a grim sight, what once had been a peaceful part of a meadow was now a graveyard.

When one decided to bury their loved one there, the rest followed and at least the rest didn`t have to take their loved one`s far. Nolgos didn`t look at the two behind him, but hmphed.

"Am I imagining things or are two some sort of higher beings?"

Kena's expression took on a positively mischievous cast at this suggestion. How foolhardy, to offer the goddess of travellers and messengers a race. "By all means," she said by way of acceptance. Even barefoot this was her element, and the spark of wry amusement in her cobalt eyes did not bode well for Devarion.

A moment later there was thin air where Kena had been a moment before, and the sandals were rendered superfluous. The thin air, however, was heavy with the humidity of an impending storm, and already rain was falling - heavy drops that spoke of more to come.

Azra smirked, one day he would take this mortal and show him the true healing powre of death. But in the mean time, he fully expected this man to carry on with his annoying backchat whenver he tried to do his job.

"Well Goddess, i'm sure you don't wish the mortal to know he's in the presance of a Hevenly One, and i'm sure you have buissness to attend to." he said clearly.

Luriar, slightly startled, jumped slightly as he lowered his flute.

"Ah! Eydis! I didn't hear you... Trying sneak up on me again, eh?" He asked, holding on to his precious instument tightly as he leapt to the ground lightly. But soon an odd expression came over his face.

I knew there was something wrong... The birds aren't singing.

Hythraii smiled as the rain came tumbling down. Finally... He thought, grinning all the more. A all natural storm! He then chuckled as he thought, The others probably believe it was my doing... He laughed out loud now and then thunder came over the skies...

Aranthor was almost to the God's home when she felt a rain drop on her shoulder, Hythraii. She thought to her self. Just as she opened the door a bolt of lightening flashed silver across the sky...

Kena ducked under the broad leaves of a spreading tree and leaned against the trunk, pushing tendrils of curling hair out of her face. She'd escaped the worst of the pouring rain but still its dark blonde lengths fell damply around her shoulders, not entirely dry. Barely even breathing hard, she collapsed gracefully into a sitting position and peered out at the darkening sky.

"Didn't make it, quite." she commented, grinning lopsidedly, when Devarion had caught up. "Hythraii outdid himself this time."

Estelle eyed Azra coolly. "Yes. Death is necessary to life." she said quietly. "But when the cycle becomes unbalanced and death claims more than life gives, only chaos will ensue." With that she turned from the God of Death and glanced around at the others wounded. Walking beside each one, she gently touched those still alive, her powers healing their wounds. "You will remember none of this." she said softly as the soft light from her hands faded. "Nor will you know that a God and Goddess graced the room this day." she intoned, knowing that her simple spell will block the questions from all the mortals touched by her power.

Hythraii thought he'd go and pay some of the other gods and goddesses a visit. He didn't know why he decided this at such an odd time, but he hadn't seen them in so long, he felt like he should go say hello.

To make sure they knew he was coming, he made it rain harder than he ever had before and small drops of hail came from the skies. Hythraii made a small airbubble over him and his horse and he rode out of the forest, going to find them.

Nolgos heard the words and turned around to the doorway gazing at the sight as all of his patients were being healed. It was a controversial sight to him, he did not know whether to believe it to be true and he felt somewhat relieved, but at the same time angered. He was happy that his patients wouldn`t perish, but this display of power angered him as he knew that he could never get such powers. He could do so much more with such power instead of spending hours on one patient alone!

Nolgos stayed outside the room and turned around before starting to walk away from his house quietly muttering to himself. He hoped that he would remember this all and that cursed power wouldn`t have touched him.

Kena was standing erect, one hand on the trunk of a slender sapling beside her. Her lips were parted slightly in a frown, eyebrows drawn down into an expression partly of bemusement, partly of wary interest. She started forward, one hand outstretched, and stopped with a searching glance at Devarion. In the eerie glow of the dark magic, tinged with purple as it was, her tanned skin appeared darker than normal and her eyes nearly black. Shifting patterns played over her white tunic when she came slowly forward, drawn unwillingly to this globe of power.

Almost as if escaping a trance the tall young goddess jerked backward, her expression now uneasy. "Coming...where?" she asked, probing, turning to search Devarion's face. Oddly, she found nothing, and it was not for lack of looking. What was this he conjured...?

Azra watched Estelle disapssionatly, show off. Nolgos caught his eye, ahh, well that one would keep his memoried of this if he could help it, he wanted Nolgos to truly understand Death when it was his time. He decided to distract Estelle.
"So you blame me Goddess for all this. Then know that i cannot even visit my own Realm the balance is so dis-rupted, would i do that to myslef? Would i volentarily force myself to live in the Land of the Living?" he asked showing more vigour to conversation than was normal for him.

Estelle turned to look at Azra, her work finished. She loathed death, but looking at the frustration in the god's face curbed her tongue. He is only following his nature. she had to remind herself, as you are-although it was beyond her comprehension how anyone could love the taking of life. She sighed. "No." she said quietly, as if in resignation. "I know you alone are not responsible for this imbalance." She turned away from him then. "Someone worse is." she said softly. "Tipping the scales so that the dead outnumber the living so there will be few warriors left to challenge him."

Nolgos found his way into the graveyard, quietly gazing at each grave around him and they all seemed so clear to him now. He seemed to remember everyone of them, how they had died, who were there with them and who buried them. He himself had buried many of them and assisted in the burials of a few, now that he looked back at his life he couldn`t help feeling a certain degree of amusement. He had slain hundreds upon the battlefields in his younger days and now he had tried so hard to repay his debt by saving innocent lives.

Nolgos ran his hands along the cold stone surface of the latest addition of tombstones and sighed, besides it laid a shovel that he slowly grabbed. He gazed upon an open spot before sinking the head of the shovel deep into the ground and starting to lift a piece of dirt. He didn`t have the courage to look back at his own house, in fear that he might see the two figures leaving or coming after him. He concentrated on the digging of the new grave and began quietly humming a song.

Here we are, now lay the burden down
We're coming to the end of our road
Sorrowful yet glorious somehow
To be humming this one last ode

For a moment Kena's fingers hovered over the orb of shifting darkness, and with only the barest touch of hesitation they brushed the surface, sending currents of liquid blackness swirling. She touched it only for a moment, and in another had pulled back, resisting the urge to rub her fingers on her tunic. "I've never seen the like before," Kena admitted, meeting Devarion's eyes in a brief glance. An ironic smile lifted the corners of her mouth for the barest second. "Beyond my abilities, to be sure."

Pressing down the wariness that kept her gaze ever straying to the orb of darkness, as if it were an alien presence, Kena thrust out her hand again and let the tendrils of darkness play around them. She felt nothing, and upon withdrawing again was less edgy. "Impressive," she commented.
