"Book Club?" Ted questioned and held himself back from rude and sarcastic comments, for once, "This doesn't seem all that interesting anymore. I think I will go back and continue to notice everything at the crime scene that everyone else missed."

Laura drove down to the crimescene, all the while trying to steel whatever nerves she had. Upon arrival, she parked the car on the side, a short distance away from the scene of the "accident". Climbing out of the car she quickly began to look around for her husband.

Scott had quickly taken brief notes and important points in his notebook, as commanded. After a brief moment when the talk ended, he finished writing and put his pen in his pocket. "Got it!" He said, grinning and just barely resisted himself from doing the hairflip, but he did, just in time.

"Laura!" Eric hurried over as he saw his wife step out of the car. "I'm glad you got here so quick."

"And you, my lady, would be the dearly beloved wife?" Ted asked Laura as he got a good look at her and mocked the talk of dead people, "I have two questions for you. One, would you possibly know where Clara was driving from? And two, would you be in support of me forcing your honey over here to change his cell ringtone to something more....exciting?"

"No, I did not see her that night. All I know is that she told me something about a party a couple of weeks ago which I believe was for one of her clubs-perhaps the dance club." she said as she furrowed her brow trying to remember the hazy details. "As for the ring tone, it doesn't bother me what my husband uses-as long as it not too outrageous."

Scott sighed and started writing again, and then grinned at the ringtone remark. He was glad his hasn't gone off yet-it was a 30 seconds to mars song called "The Kill." He didn't know if his boss would aprove, and he didn't want to be dissed again.

Looking over Scott's shoulder, Logan shook his head. How could anyone read that writing? A dance club, huh? Seemed a bit more likely to be having a party than a book club. Leaving Scott and Ted to question Laura furthur, Logan meandered over to the tree the car hit. Maybe there was something others had missed.

Scott looked back at Logan and asked, "What?" when he gave him a weird look.

"Oh, nothing." Logan waved his hand absently. "Just wondering how anyone...." he frowned at the tree, "anyone could read what you write.." He fingered the bark on the bottom of the tree. Something seemed --out of place with it, he just couldn't seem to see what.

Scott raised his eyebrows. "Hey, this is my good handwriting!"

"Then I'm scared to knnow what your bad writing looks like," Ted told Scott as he gave him a pat on the back. Wandering over to Logan, Ted wondered maybe if he should hire a girl for secretary purposes. After all, girls always had to have good handwriting. It was an underlining obligation in feminine mythology.
"So," Ted brought up to Logan after denying his thoughts over the fact that it was scatter his reputation, "You catch anything I didn't catch."

Scott hung his head, but not in shame, but to hide his grin. He loved his handwritting...and he also loved to watch people try to decripher it. Then, he lifted his head and said, "I'll type it up later then." He said and walked over to Ted and Logan, wondering what was found.

"Well, I'm not sure," Logan replied frowning. "Does there seem to be something out of place with the way this bark is? Like..." He tried to put feelings to words. "Well, it seems like if the car had hit it coming down the hill, all the bark would be off at the top, and everything slanting down. But it looks like some of it is slanting up. It doesn't make sense." He hoped Ted could make something of it, he couldn't get heads or tails out of it.

Scott bented down and looked at the bark. "It's like the car came up from under the ground and scraped the bark upwards when it hit the tree..." He said, not touching the bark but looking at it closely. He stood and added, "I don't think that the car came up from under the ground...it's just...the way it looks..."

Ted took another look at the treebark. He had noticed it before, but never really took consideration into it. "Well, if the car came down the hill, the bark would all be slanted downward from the top of the hood down," Ted told both of his employees as he motioned the placement with his hands, "the fact that some is slanting up would mean that there was another object after the crash shot."
"Which," Ted added, "is not out of the question because Clara Melvin was shot. Now, since I am not sure either of you were really paying attention, I will sum it up for you. Don't worry about the bark, but you, Scott, can write down funky tree bark in your illegible handwriting if you wish."
