has anyone ever the lioness quartet by Tamora Pierce???? i LOVE her writing! i wanted to make an rp for it! I'll be Alanna... PLEASE JOIN!!!

The Song of the Lioness quartet by Tamora Pierce tells the story of how Alanna of Trebond (disguised as the boy Alan) swaps places with her twin brother Thom to train as a knight in the royal palace. Alanna meets new friends along her journey, including George, the charming and mischievous King of Thieves; the lovable but unkempt scholar Sir Myles of Olau; Gareth "Gary" of Naxen; Raoul of Goldenlake; Princess Thayet of Sarain; Liam the Shang Dragon; and Prince Jonathan of Conte, Alanna's best friend. She also meets several foes, including Ralon of Malven and Duke Roger of Conte, Jonathan's charming but sly cousin. Alanna also acquires a new pet—her mysterious black cat Faithful, who, true to his name, keeps her from harm. From the desert tribes of the Bazhir to the cold, distant Roof of the World, Alanna's adventures are exciting yet touched with compassion.

In the first book, Alanna and her twin brother Thom first decide to switch places. When the twins succeed in talking around their two caregivers, Alanna sets off for the royal palace under the name Alan. There she trains as a page, meeting many friends, such as Raoul of Goldenlake, Gareth of Naxen the Younger, Francis of Nond, Alex of Tirragen, and Prince Jonathan. She also makes an enemy her first day in the palace, Ralon of Malven. Rather than have her companions beat him, Alanna secretly trains with George, the King of Thieves, until she can beat him herself. When she does, he leaves court.
During Alanna's page years, a new disease, the sweating sickness, spreads within the capital city, and nowhere else. This disease is different than all other known diseases in that it drains healers, and even kills them. There is talk that it was sent by a great sorcerer. Alanna has a powerful healing Gift, but is frightened to use it. Due to this refusal of her abilities, Francis of Nond dies of the sweating sickness. When Prince Jonathan falls ill, Alanna, as the only undrained healer in the city, tries to heal him. She succeeds through evoking the Great Mother Goddess and fetching Jonathan from the place in between the living world and the Realms of the Dead. In so doing, she unknowingly reveals herself as a female to Sir Myles, one of her mentors. Immediately after, Jonathan's powerful sorcerer cousin, Duke Roger, comes to live at the palace and teach the Gifted pages and squires magic.
During Alanna's last year as a page, she is brought on a trip for the squires to Persopolis, the Bazhir desert city. All the squires were warned to stay away from the Black City, a city just within view of Persopolis, by Duke Roger. However, Jonathan decides to ride for the city to defeat whatever evil lies there, and Alanna went with him to help him in his quest. The two arrived at the city to find it completely deserted, that is, until they entered the large, central temple. There they found the Ysandir, beings who would not age or starve as mortals would, but that could be killed. Jonathan and Alanna began to fight, but things began to go awry when one of the Ysandir magically removed Alanna's clothes to reveal her true sex. Jonathan saves his shock for later, as Alanna and Jonathan must combine their powers to defeat the Ysandir. With the help of her magical sword, Alanna defeats the last of the Ysandir, and Jonathan and Alanna head back to Persopolis.
The book ends at an oasis near Persopolis, where Alanna suggested that perhaps Roger had wanted Jonathan to go to the city. Jonathan said that yes, he had, but only so that Jonathan could rid the Tortall of a great evil. When Alanna pointed out that perhaps Roger had not expected him to come back alive, Jonathan refused to listen. After this, Jonathan chooses Alanna to be his squire when he is knighted that year. He says he does not care that she is a girl, because she is the best page regardless.

In this second book of the quartet, Alanna meets the Goddess face to face and is given an amulet of sorts that allows her to see magic. She also picks up a black cat named Faithful with purple eyes like her own along the way. This Faithful becomes a familiar of sorts, because he is able to speak to Alanna and aid her learning.
As she progresses into knighthood, Alanna's feminine side is nurtured as well. She goes to George Cooper's mother, the healer Eleni, after deciding that she wants to be pretty. Eleni, thus, takes Alanna under her wing and secretly helps her unravel her masculine presentation, teaching her the nuances of being a gracious woman. The change does not go unnoticed by George or Prince Jonathan, the only two with whom she has shared her secret. Though George has pursued Alanna since her pagehood, Jonathan realizes the woman at his hands and decides to teach Alanna about sexuality.
Alanna sees herself and her friends through her first war, and eventually has to kill Duke Roger of Conte, her prince's cousin and next in line after him. Roger, it seemed, had the plan of arranging Jonathan's death and inheriting the throne. She is also knighted and sheds her disguise after a mishap with Roger during their battle.
Deciding not to stay in City Corus, Alanna with her horse Moonlight, Faithful, and her longtime servant-man (and self-appointed bodyguard) Coram set off for the South.

The third book sees her through her journey through the Bazhir desert, where is adopted by a tribe and is temporarily made shaman. During this stay she has to teach a new shaman to take her place, she has three students: Ishak, Kara, and Kourrem. She also begins to teach the Bazhir to slowly lose some of their prejudice against women. Jonathan asks her to marry him, she refuses him, and she takes up where she left off with George, whom she realizes she was meant to be with the whole time. She is adopted by Myles of Olau, and is made his heir.

The final chapter of this quartet finds Alanna out on a quest seeking the Dominion Jewel for the good of all Tortall. She has an affair with Liam the Shang Dragon and makes many new and interesting friends, including Princess Thayet, who eventually weds Jonathan. She arrives back home, triumphant, to find that her brother had resurrected her archenemy Roger, and that she must defeat him all over again to end it once and for all. She does, and is later engaged to George Cooper

Myles-(a full fledged knight that befriends Alanna.. he teaches her alot.. but he does have a problem.. he drinks wine to much... and usually at night he always has a bottle of liqour in his hands...

Coram- he is an older man and a great warrior he has protected Alanna since she was very young.. he taught her the basics of sword craft when she was a little girl.. he travels with her to the Knight school to protect and guide her..(he knows she's a girl)

George played by Nauriel Rochnur- he is the King of Theives.. his lair is in the tavern.. he controls many theives and later he falls in love with Alanna... He's as bad as a pirate.. he steals, lies, and cheats.. but Alanna befriends him and visits him when she needs a break.. (he knows she's a girl)

Johnathon played by Eruraina- he his a young Squire .. also he is the Prince of the Kingdom (the KNight school is in the palace) and he is kind of spoiled by his parents.. he is charming, handsome, and witty.. and not to mention skilled with the blade.soon he finds out Alanna is a girl and they both fall in love..

Duke Roger- I guess you could say he's the "bad guy" he is always scheming against the King.. He usually plots to kill the Prince (Will) so that the King and Queen will have no heirs to the throne and then he'll be next in line.. he is the Prince's Uncle.. it is very mysterious because no one ever suspects him of evil.. exept Alanna...

Alex?- i don't remember his name i think it might be Alex.. but he his Duke Roger's squire... and Duke Roger always telles him to try to kill Alanna (since she suspects him) so he has always tried to get Alanna alone so he can finish her off..

Thom- Alanna's brother.. he wishes to learn more about sorcery and soon he will become a mighty sorcerer..
