((Somehow I think my character isn't the relaxing type...))

Holly tapped her fingers, nails chewed methodically down - one of her few bad habits - on the glass top of her desk, peering into an elaborately fashioned microscope. She adjusted the focus slightly and sighed resignedly, pausing to jot down several equations on a notepad already filled with scribbles meaningless to all except herself. The odd twisting of elements, particulary metals, that the Time Portal seemed to induce had proven exciting on the surface but essentially ordinary deeper down.

Switching the microscope's light off, Holly reached over to her intercom, which was linked to Carson's and Michele's. Alanna also was technically on the connection, but her area of science rarely coincided with the other three. Made conferring much easier, this did. "Holly here," she said into the speaker, fingers still absently tapping the desktop. "Negative on findings in relation to element shifting due to the Time Portal. Either of you have anything?"

Carson switched on his speaker without looking at it. "Carson here." he said. "I don't have anything exciting either." He sighed and leaned back from his microscope. "I think we may be on a wild goose chase here."
