The Wheel of Time turns and ages come and pass.... Now approaches the end of the Age of Legends, otherwise known as the Breaking of the World. Led by Lews Therin Telamon, the male Aes Sedai suceeded in sealing the Dark One back into his prison at Shayol Ghul... but not without a price. As a counterstroke, the Dark One tainted Saidin, the male half of the One Power. Men who channeled began to go mad, wreaking havoc on the world. They laid waste to mountains and brought in seas where deserts once stood. All of the world's geography was changed and many places have been totally depopulated. Can anyone survive in this time of chaos?
Due to some troubles I've had in my life, I haven't had time to get online a lot lately, so I kind of had to drop out of most of the RPGs I was in. I figured I would just start a new one now that I have time to get online again. Okay, this takes place in the world of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, but don't stop here if you haven't read it because we really won't be dealing with anything that happens in the books. We'll be RPing as people seeking to make a life in a chaotic world where danger lurks around every corner. I think first, for the people who haven't read the series, I'll give you a little background information.
Aes Sedai- Aes Sedai are men and woman who can channel the One Power. After the male channelers began going insane and breaking the world, the female Aes Sedai split up either into small groups or as individuals.
The One Power- The One Power is... well, at a very basic and simple level, it is like magic. Although really it is a bit more complex. There are two halves of the One Power:
Saidin (male) and
Saidar (female). Some people are born with the 'spark' or the inborn ability to use the One Power. Others are born with the ability to learn to channel. Both of these types can be trained to become Aes Sedai. How much a person is able to do with the One Power varies with each individual. The way the One Power is used is through 'weaves.' The One Power is composed of flows of Air, Water, Fire, Spirit, and Earth. A channeler weaves whatever flows required for what they want to accomplish.
The Dark One- There won't really be any direct dealings with the Dark One in this RPG, but in case anyone is curious, he's like the epitome of evil in the Wheel of Time world.
Warders- During the Age of Legends, there were no such things as Warders, but some historians believe that they came about during and after the Breaking to protect female Aes Sedai. Warders are men (women are not generally Warders) who are bonded to one Aes Sedai who they offer companionship and protection.
The Aes Sedai/Warder bond- When a man gives an Aes Sedai permission to bond him as her Warder, she uses the One Power to bond them. The bond allows them to acutely sense each others feelings and locations.
Severing- This is the act of cutting off a channeler from the One Power. At this time, there is no cure for it. Many of the female Aes Sedai during the Breaking sought to sever the males and insodoing put a stop to the chaos.
The Forsaken- The 13 most powerful Aes Sedai during the Age of Legends who dedicated themselves to the Dark One. They were imprisoned with him by Lews Therin and the other male channelers.
Darkfriends- People who are dedicated to serving the Dark One.

1. You may have as many characters as you would like. I trust that you all know your limits as to how many you can handle.
2. Romance is definitely allowed. Any of you who have RPed with me before probably know that I am a hopeless romantic at heart.
3. Please try to let us know if you have to drop out. I understand about having to drop out of RPGs (I've had to do that often of late). Just let me know.
4. Try to post with substance. Try to keep one-liners to a minimum.

Age: She is 37, but she has been an Aes Sedai long enough to have an ageless quality to her looks.

Appearance: Niande is of medium height at about 5'5. She is slender to the point of fraility. Her surprisingly pale skin contrasts starkly with her jet black hair. Her most striking feature is her dark blue eyes, though the rest of her face is rather unremarkable. She is neither ugly, nor extremely beautiful.
Personality: Niande has changed much since the Breaking. Before, oftentimes joy shone in her dark eyes. She was young and happy and eager to learn. But the turmoil before and during the Breaking dissilussioned her. Now, she is more solemn and quiet. Her smiles are rare, but that goes for most people of this time. Still, she is ambitious and wants to find a way to end the strife caused by the men driven mad by
Saidin. She is intelligent and determined.
History: Born unto two relatively strong Aes Sedai, great things were expected of Niande. It was a great disappointment to her parents when, although the spark was indeed inborn in her, she was much weaker than everyone's expectations. In fact, she was barely strong enough in the One Power to train to become an Aes Sedai once she was of age. Still, she learned to work within her limits and was not greatly bothered by them.
After the Dark One tainted
Saidin and the Time of Madness began, all Aes Sedai scattered. Niande, like all others in the world, has been wandering since. Seeking refuge where she may. Only now has her weakness in Power really hindered her. She is often fearful that she will be put into a situation that she will be unable to get herself out of. While she has a strong desire to help and quell the insane male channelers, she is also very fearful of them.

She is not strong physically due to being very sickly child.
Personality: She is very kind, gentil, loving. She may also by young but she it wise beyond her years, and she will do anything she can to help those around her.
History: Her mother was just a normal girl and her father an Aes Sedai. When she was found to have the spark it was thought that she would never be strong in the One Power, however quiet the oppisite. Her teachers were suprised at how stongly the one Power was with her when she started her training.
After the Dark One tainted Saidin and the Time of Madness began, all Aes Sedai scattered. Seeking refuge where she may. She also has a tendency to work herself into exaustion, which can lead to her becomming ill.
She has a constint companion. A young man of about 20 years old who loves her with everything he is worth but is afraid to tell her.

She fell in love with her Warder, who was later discovered to be a potent Darkfriend and imprisoned. Against her better judgment Kirieth aided in his escaping, still not believing him to be a Darkfriend, and was consequently stilled at the order of the Amyrlin Seat.
