Ok, now for the intro/ plot.
This day had been a slow one at the office, and Mary hoped it would stay that way. She was supposed to have dinner over at her parents’ house that night. Her lawyer sister, Lillian and her seventeen year old niece, Rachel, were going to be there as well. Suddenly Mary’s cell phone rand, “Mary Todd,” she said answering the phone. “Oh, it’s you. Hey sis, what’s up?” Mary asked her sister spinning around in her chair.
“Thanks for the warm welcome Mary. Could you stop and pick up some Ice Cream from the store on your way to Mom and Dad’s?”
“Sure, can I talk to Rachel?” she asked writing a note to get ice cream on her notepad. No sooner had she asked then the phone was handed to Mary’s niece.
“Hi Aunt Mary, are you coming to Grandma’s?” Rachel asked her aunt.
Mary was about to answer when she heard the screaming of brakes, the screaming of voices then nothing.
“Rachel, sweetheart what happened? Rachel? Lillian?!” Then to her frustration the call ended. Suddenly her phone range. “Lillian...”
“Guess again Agent Todd.” Mary’s face went pale at the distorted voice coming over the phone. “How much is she worth to you?”
Quickly finding her voice Mary asked, “Who are you?”
“I am your fear. Now answer the question, how much is she worth to you?”
“How much is who worth to me?”
“You silly little girl, who do you think? Oh, and don’t worry, I’ve always been a good uncle.”
Her heart froze as the phone went dead yet again. Mary hated the conclusion her mind was leading her to. “Please don’t be Rachel."
