" Bite your tongue, woman, you may have been following me, observing my every move for months, but you hardly know the half of me. As for my memory, I only block out what I consider to be useless, unimportant, and quite frankly, stupid. In so assuming, I would guess that since I obvioulsy can't remember this, I didn't record it to memory for its worth." His voice seemed irritated, and bored.
" I wait for you, Enyalie." He leaned against the tree once more, folding his arms. The intensity of the electricity and static subsided for the moment, but he thought he noticed a couple strands of Alivyre's hair rising.

Again her laugh rang out against the wind, her breath blew through the shrouds of mist, swirling in intricate patterns, but soon fading into all that it was: Air. "You have many questions, Demon, and maybe you would consider the memories useless. After all, life is a life, and taking one is all the same to you. So why should you remember one small girl, after all the raids you've been in? A small, innocent child. Do you remember anything whatsoever now, Dante?" A look of pain crossed her face for a moment. And then it was gone, and only a cold hatred burned in her eyes.

He chuckled, shaking his head. " In that you are right. I don't remember a young girl, nor do I care to, and I can only guess that since you bring her up, you must be her. Or..a sister/mother. Nevertheless, if you came to extract your revenge on me, so be it."

"Revenge? My horrible Dante. If I came here to exact my revenge upon you, I would have done it by now. You shall never guess what a turn you led for my life. I would rather thank you for ruining what life I had as a child. I had only just begun to understand the predicament I was in. On the one hand, I was pledged to be married to a horrid old fool that could well have been my great-grandfather. On the other, I was merely caught in a world I couldn't stand. My parents were idiots, what little I care to remember of them, and my life held few prospects. A sleepy little village, plenty to plunder, plenty to kill, and just useful enough for someone to raid. Which had been what I was hoping for. As what little luck I seem to maintain, you did. I cried, for my brother. The only one who cared to try and protect me. And then I left. I trained, hard and long, just to say that I would be able to kill you. But the truth is, whether or not I would have admitted that, you, a demon of all things, saved my life that day. For that, my brother cursed you. He made me swear that I would destroy you. And yet even now, as I did then, I hesitate. An oath that is reluctant to be made is often never carried out." She fell back onto the ground, reliving that day. Her eyes shifted focus and suddenly, she was back. Looking up at Dante, she took a deep breath. "And it haunts me even now."

Dante grew sickeningly silent during her tale, his dark eyes fixed on the ground between them. It was a while ago, but he remembered vaguely. At last he looked at her, a brow arched. " Well this is a first. I don't think I've ever gotten a thank you for killing someone, so forgive me if I seem taken aback. I won't argue with you, your future did look grim, and I'm not entirely in the mood to kill you--or you for that matter", he glanced over at Alivyre.
' You're getting soft, Dante..'
He sighed, waiting. " So. To kill me or not to kill me?" He flashed his typical "charming" grin.

Her fingers twitched over her blade, which she had nearly fallen on top of, but then her palm caught the edge of the sword, and the skin was neatly sliced. The blood began to trickle from the cut, and Enyalie looked at it, fascinated. Looking up, she caught Dante's eye and grinned. "To die, or not to die, that is the question."
She ripped a length of cloth from her tunic and bound her hand, for her arm was now practically dripping with blood. She winced, having bound it just slightly too tight...And I've never learned how to heal a wound... She thought darkly.

Alivyre felt Dante's gaze fall across her a few times, she also noticed her hair becoming static.
After awhile of the pair arguing she sat and stayed quiet, not wanting to intterupt them.

" I'm beginning to wonder if you'll ever attack me at all, Enyalie. If its you who wants death, you won't find it by me. I've lost my appetite hours ago, you see. What happened to living for my moment of death? This is the closest you've come so far, why stop now?" He craned his neck to one side, inspecting her.

Enyalie stiffened, but stood. Picking her sword up, she took a single step forward and placed the tip of the blade at Dante's throat. Staring unblinkingly into his eyes, she spoke without emotion.
"Is this close enough for you, demon?"

He looked down at her, and had half a mind to snort with laughter. In one fluid-like motion, he swept his scimitar down at the edge of her sword, hacking it away from his flesh, and turned his shoulder to her, aiming to knock her square in the jaw with his locked back elbow. He was a bit surprised in the midst of things, that she was tall enough or that her sword was long enough to reach him.

Alivyre continued to watch, she wasn't sure what she should do, all she had wanted to do was find a way out, and now it seemed impossible.

When he turned, Enyalie neatly sidestepped, and, as Dante had flung her sword away with his scimitar, she drew out twin daggers to catch his blade at the hilt and sling it into the air. Although this knocked both daggers away from her, it still left Dante without one of his scimitars. However, it had also done further damage to the wound on her hand. Trying hard not to wince, she looked at Dante, smirking to keep out the pain. "You enjoy tormenting others, do you not? I shan't be surprised if I hear your laughter as I did on that day."

Dante quickly bolted forwards ignoring her question, and caught his scimitar by the hilt, nearly falling over into the shrubs himself. He jutted his shoulder back, watching as one of her flung daggers embedded itself in the ground next to him. Not knowing where the other dagger fell, he moved to the side uneasily, where sure enough its twin landed next to it.
" Tricksy."
He walked slowly to the side, in a circular form around her. Finally, he answered, but was now looking at Alivyre, who seemed like a vulnerable rabbit caged with its own predator; at this he smirked.
" Of course. Its what I live for."

"As I live for your death."
She glanced at Alivyre. "There is a path, to your left. Once on it, there is a road some few miles past. If you take it, there is one pathetic outlaw left in well enough health to try to rob you. However, considering yourself...You should bypass him easily, and be well on your way. Otherwise, I believe there is someone back the way that you came that is quite willing to help you."
Turning back to Dante, she slipped the knife from her boot. "There isn't much of an escape path for you, I am afraid. Ever so sorry."

" Do you see me running? No. So come on, let's see if you're as good as you think you are." He was glaring now, disapointed that things were moving so slowly, and that he had been insulted numerous of times.

She shrugged. "As you wish."
Enyalie halfheartedly threw the knife at his chest, more in effort to distract him rather than actually hit him. She dove down to get her sword, drawing it up and moving to slash at his right arm.
