Post subject:  Wishing He Would Come Home
This is a story about a woman that had her fiance' go to World War II. She waited and waited for him to come back, but all she got was a letter from him, stating that his stay there would be extended. She knew that she had to see him and wouldn't settle for anything less. She then disguised herself as a soldier, (such as Mulan), and went to find him.

Elizabeth had finally made it to the battlefield. It had been a long journey, but now if someone discovered her wandering around, they would assign her a task and she would have to actually be part of the war.

Elizabeth had been raised in a wealthy family, and she wasn't much used to this kind of thing. War... she knew was an awful thing. She had heard about it for quite a while, when her and her family listened in on the radio. When she met James, she became quite a different person. She did more things, and became more active. Now, usually her parents wouldn't approve of Elizabeth marrying anyone out of her class; like James. But, they knew that he was a very trustworthy, and respectable man. So, they allowed them to become engaged.

Elizabeth looked around, trying to find the man of her dreams. She searched and searched desperately, but couldn't find him anywhere after thirty minutes of searching. She became quite upset, that her search wasn't a success and she was starting to fear the worst for him. 'Where could he be?' She thought to herself, a little bit frightened.

Cordelia's family hadn't heard anything from Jeram, her best friend
for weeks.
It had gotten to the point where Cordelia couldn't sleep anymore
and even her appetite was narrowing.
And the stress of not knowing whether
he was still alive or dead was causeing her headaches.
It was too much.
She knew the army had done all they could to find out about him,
but it wasn't enough for her. She had to know for sure.

As much as the thought of being around a bunch of crazy soldiers
was to her, she knew she had to go and find Jeram.
She pulled her drawer open and took out a set of bushy eyebrows
from a costume party the year before, and dyed them to match her hair.
Then she went out to the Gardea's backyard where Mr. Gardea kept his old army garb
and brought it back to her room to fix it up for her journey.
'The next shipful of soldiers is leaving tonight at 1am.'
she thought to herself. She looked out the window at the open sea.
'I can make it.'

Crash! Boom! Cordelia woke up startled at the sound of war.
Suddenly the door to the ship swung open, and a soldier came flying in.
"Hurry we need back-up out here!" he cried to all of the men on board.
Cordelia nearly froze with fear when it came time to run out a moment later.
Where was she? Was she near Jeram's site? she didn't know.

Backhground info:Works as a nurse in the amry, she tends to work out on location as she is looking for her brother Richard who had left to fight in the war as a Major untill he had been posted missing a few weeks fater her had been a his post!

[I'll add in that she's in the Navy, as well. Serving a bit, you know?]

Evelyn looked up. She heard footsteps running and voices shouting. She hurried above decks and saw that the ship had entered the battle zone. Daniels came running up to her, saying, "They're asking for backup!"

"Go," she said. Remarkably enough, she was a Naval captain, and a woman. "Take about fifty men with you, leave the rest here to set up supplies at the camp."

"Yes," he said. She looked up. A piece of metal was coming towards her. She looked to the side and saw another woman, frozen. "GET DOWN!" she shouted at her, and pulled her down. It went over their heads and crashed. She got up and began to shout orders.

[I see....so, we from the U.S. are, I guess, volunteers who decided to fight in Britain.....if you want to have the U.S. involved already, try about 1942....LOL Sorry....::snaps hand over mouth:: Must be quiet.]

Cordelia hit the ground hard. As soon as she looked up she
saw small object comming towards her area. She wasn't sure what it
was, but she had an idea. "Move!" she shouted to the girl who had just saved her life, "Run!"
The gornade exploded behind them pushing them through the air
and causing them to land on the ground once more.

"Thanks!" Cordelia said giving her hand to help
the other girl up. "Thanks alot!"
